Jordan Poole has been traded to the Washington Wizards in a deal that sends Chris Paul to the Warriors. Golden State is also sending the Wizards a 2030-protected first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick. (Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter )
The irony of the deal is that it comes just days after the Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy said he planned to have Poole around for the next four years. Poole joins what looks to be a Wizards team that is entering a rebuilding stage after trading away Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis to the Suns and Celtics respectively. He'll immediately join the starting rotation, but it'll be interesting to see if the Wizards decide to keep Poole or attempt to trade him away for additional draft assets.
