Ben Sheppard will miss Saturday’s preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Monday’s preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs for undisclosed reasons. (Tony East on Twitter)

Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said it’s more plausible that Sheppard will return for next Friday’s preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs. With T.J. McConnell (hamstring) sidelined for a month and Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) out for the season, Sheppard is expected to play a significant role to start the year.
