Luke Kornet (ankle) ruled out Friday

A notable defensive streak will be put on pause Friday, as Luke Kornet has been ruled out of the matchup against the Cavaliers due to ankle soreness. The big man had been capitalizing on an extended run in the starting lineup, starting nine consecutive games in place of Victor Wembanyama and tallying 14 blocks along with three steals over his last six appearances.
Fantasy Impact:
With both Kornet and Wembanyama sidelined, the Spurs' frontcourt rotation is set for a shakeup. Kelly Olynyk and Bismack Biyombo are expected to step into larger roles to fill the void in the paint, while Jeremy Sochan could also see minutes as a small-ball center. The injury is considered minor, and Kornet will target a return for Monday's game in New Orleans.
