Paul Pierce (ankle) unlikely to play in season opener

The Clippers begin their season on Thursday at Portland but Pierce is unlikely to play with a right ankle sprain and his timetable to return is unknown. With Pierce out, Alan Anderson, Luc Mbah a Moute, and Wes Johnson will all see additional minutes. Mbah a Moute is most likely to start at small forward.
Fantasy Impact:
Paul Pierce used to be a fantasy first round pick with upside. In his final season, Pierce will be off the fantasy radar while chasing his last chance at a championship.
