Jonathon Simmons brings the 'Juice' at Oracle Arena

by Dakota Mitchell | Wed, Oct 26th 9:55am EDT

Jonathan Simmons roared off the Spurs' bench for a career-high 20 points, four rebounds, three assists, a block, and three 3-pointers on 8-of-13 shooting in 28 minutes as the Spurs slaughtered Golden State opening night.

Fantasy Impact:

To Spurs fans, this was not a major surprise, Simmons' energy and athleticism has already made him a crowd favorite in the Alamo City. Spurs fans even affectionately have a name for when he comes in and dominates off the bench, as they say "he brings the juice." Although, last season this generally meant 5 minutes at the end of a blowout game in garbage time where he would always manage at least one poster jam. His shooting was inconsistent last year, however, so its hard to bank on the kind of shooting performance he put up last night, but if he averages 20-plus minutes a night, he definitely has the skills to make an impact every night. He is a speculative add at this point, but Pop's minutes distribution is always tough to predict. Especially since Danny Green did not play last night due to a quad injury that should keep him out a few weeks.
