Harrison Barnes helps Mavericks stomp Bulls 107-82

by Tom Williams | Kings Correspondent | Sun, Dec 4th 8:11am EST

The Dallas Mavericks grabbed the lead early in the contest Saturday night and did not let go thanks to Harrison Barnes, who scored eight points in the first quarter. He finished with 22 points, five rebounds and hit two three-pointers to key the win. It was the first time the Mavericks had scored more than 100 points since a November 8 victory over the Lakers.

Fantasy Impact:

Dirk Nowitzki sat out this game, as expected, due to an ailing Achilles, and then we learned after the game that he’ll likely be out for an “indefinite” amount of time. This just means more scoring opportunities for Barnes in the future, but also more pressure on him to lead the team. While Nowitizki is out, Barnes should continue to produce at the pace he’s established in the first part of the season. Now that Wesley Matthews has regained his shooting touch, and Deron Williams has worked his way back into shape, you can expect Barnes to continue putting up 20-plus points to go along with five or six rebounds a game.
