Eligibility
Pierre Jackson has officially been waived by the Mavericks who was just signed him to a 10-day contract earlier in the week. Jackson was playing well before pulling his hamstring. The Mavs waived Jackson to open up a roster spot for Yogi Ferrell.
Fantasy Impact
Jackson was playing well prior to the injury and even started over Devin Harris when Deron Williams was out. He could latch onto a team when healthy.
Pierre Jackson signed a 10-day contract with the Mavericks. Jackson was with the Mavs earlier this season and averaged 3.0 points and 1.8 assists in 7.0 minutes per game through four appearances, so it's good to see him getting another chance.
Fantasy Impact
He's active for Sunday's game against the Wolves, but won't have much fantasy value while the Dallas backcourt is healthy.
The 76ers have been looking for a replacement at point guard since trading Michael Carter-Williams to the Bucks last season. They may have found their answer in Pierre Jackson, who was signed to a four-year contract. Jackson, who averaged 29.1 points per game in the D-League in 2013-2014, tore his Achilles last July 5. He's averaging 12 points in two summer league games.
Fantasy Impact
Jackson should definitely see plenty of minutes at the point, considering the team is so thin at the position. He may, in fact, be the front runner to see the most minutes. Keep an eye on Jackson this summer and in the preseason.
Pierre Jackson expressed his desire to play basketball in Philadelphia and plans to take on the sixth-man role with the team next season.
Fantasy Impact
Jackson is an undersized, but talented guard who has not yet had an opportunity to shine due to injuries. Unless the Sixers use its lottery pick on a point-guard or acquire via trade or free-agency, Isaiah Canaan could be the only player ahead of Jackson in the rotation. If Philly's offseason pans out in favor of Jackson, he could be a late-round steal.
