Shabazz Napier has a night to forget Saturday
Shabazz Napier stunk it up on Saturday for Portland. He whiffed a perfect 0-for-11 in shooting and was 0-for-7 from downtown. He did have three steals in the win.
Jusuf Nurkic with double-double Saturday
Jusuf Nurkic produced 13 rebounds and 14 points in another double-double for the young center. He also rejected two shots and had one steal.
Damian Lillard leads Trail Blazers to 4th quarter comeback win
Damian Lillard went back to Super Damian Saturday. He slashed his way to 40 points on 13-of-27 shooting. Over his last five games, he's averaging nearly the 40 he put in Saturday. He had ten rebounds and five assists.
Al-Farouq Aminu with nice Friday
Al-Farouq Aminu had not hit double-digits since February 4th, until he did so Friday against the Jazz. He was 5-of-6 from the floor, 2-for-2 from three-point land, and totalled 12 points. He also hauled in 8 rebounds.
Jusuf Nurkic leads Portland's defense in rout
Jusuf Nurkic had three blocks, seven rebounds, and was a dominant inside force Friday in Portland's 100-81 drubbing of Utah. Nurkic also chipped in 15 points on 7-for-15 shooting.
CJ McCollum leads Portland to rout of Jazz
CJ McCollum topped Portland's scoring with a 100-81 whipping of Utah Friday. McCollum hit 11-of-21 from the floor and added 4-of-7 three-pointers for 26 points.
Damian Lillard with 24 on Friday
After three stunningly excellent games where he scored 131 points, and an all-star game where he scored at the same torrid rate, Damian Lillard came a bit down to earth Friday. He still put up 24 points which is almost up to par, but he slipped to 7-of-18 shooting. He did hit 8-for-8 from the stripe.
Maurice Harkless with six steals on Friday
Maurice Harkless does not score, assist, or rebound a lot, but on Friday, the quick-handed small forward got six swipes from the Jazz. Utah had 19 turnovers that led to 22 points for Portland.
Ty Blach to open spring trainging for Giants
Ty Blach gets the call Friday for the Giants' first spring training game. Blach is one of several pitchers shooting for the fourth or fifth starter slot. If Blach does not make the rotation, he could be a long man lefty out of the bullpen.
Tony Watson a perfect signing for the Giants
The Giants were supposedly right up to their expense threshold without much wiggle room. They badly needed a left-hander to step up in the bullpen. Suddenly, they get 32-year-old, former all-star, Tony Watson. Somehow with back-end payment structure and incentive clauses, they managed to sign a quality reliever while still staying under the luxury tax limit. Watson has a 2.68 ERA in seven major league seasons.
Buster Posey no longer top catcher
Buster Posey has had a nice long run as the top fantasy catcher. Despite hitting .320 last year, Gary Sanchez has surpassed him in HRs, RBIs, and Runs by pretty sizable margins. Players like Salvador Perez and JT Realmuto are closer in rank to Posey than Posey is to Sanchez.
