Jeff McNeil is taking a seat on Saturday with lefty Patrick Corbin on the mound for the Nationals. The prolific J.D. Davis, batting a robust .150 on the young season, will jump start the Mets' offense that was just shut out on Thursday, by batting cleanup and playing 3B.

Jacob deGrom placed on 10-day DL photo
Jacob deGrom was placed on the 10-day DL today due to a hyperextended elbow, retroactive to May 3rd. Originally expected to make his next scheduled start on Monday following his injury, the Mets opted to play it cautious here. He should only miss one start.
Matt Harvey DFA'd by Mets photo
A sad but inevitable end to Matt Harvey's career with the Mets. Following Thursday's relief outing in which Harvey allowed five earned runs in just two innings of work, his ERA ballooned to 7.00 on the season with a WHIP of 1.56. The Mets DFA'd him and he refused assignment to the minors (unsurprisingly). The Mets now have seven days to trade him or he becomes a free agent. After an illustrious start to his Mets' career in 2012 and 2013, he was derailed by Tommy John surgery, but bounced back to help lead the Mets to the NL Pennant in 2015. His 2016 season was sadly cut short due to thoracic outlet surgery and, when he returned in 2017, he was never able to replicate his mound dominance again.
Jacob deGrom may now make his next start on Monday photo
Following reports this morning that Jacob deGrom's MRI came back clean and that he would likely miss around four starts, Mets' beat writers are now reporting that he is going to try to make his next scheduled start on Monday.
