Hail to Fantasy Football
With the assumption that he's the Week 1 starter/workhorse RB in an Andy Reid offense, I continue to move him up my rankings.A bit risky for a top-12 RB pick, but in that offense, his upside is huge.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Williams had a nice close to the season and he should have a big role in their offense in 2019. Williams is a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 on an offense that could utilize several running backs with RB Carlos Hyde and RB Darrel Williams behind him on the depth chart.Jones was one of the best running backs in the NFL in the 2nd half of the 2018 season. As long as the new coaching staff continues that usage, he should be a RB1 in 2019. He should also see more targets in the passing game, something the prior coaching staff did not do enough of last year.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
I have the industries highest ranking on Williams, and I'm afraid it's too low. Even with a modest 67% carry split and 11% target market share, he's going to out-perform his ADP. Just take a look at the WR's on this team behind Watkins and Hardman....Gehrig Dieter, Marcus Kemp, Josh Crockett and Byron Pringle. Kelce is going to get his, and Watkins sill be used when he's healthy. But Williams has this backfield on lockdown, and with no real threats at WR, he should be used a lot out of the backfield as well. Remember what a Chiefs RB is capable of. Hunt finished as the RB 11 in half PPR scoring last season...in just 11 games! There's a real case for ranking Williams in the top 6...overall.Assuming he stays healthy, Aaron Jones is going to be a RB1 this season. He's the best RB on that depth chart by a mile, and he was fantastic when they finally gave him the workload he deserves. Jones had the most carries of 10+ yards of any RB with less than 150 carries last season, while he lead the league in YPC, and was 5th in percentage of runs that gain positive yards (Scott Barrett). The only concern with Jones is his health. He's suffered three separate MCL sprains, a pulled hamstring, and has just 4 career games over 15 carries...and exactly 0 games with 20 or more carries. We just don't know if he's capable of handling the workload we want. He's done everything he can over the offseason to try and get his body into perfect shape. He's down to 5.3% body fat as part of a new diet and workout strategy. At the end of the day, he's worth the gamble in the third round. All of the sure thing RB's are gone at this point, and you start to run out of RB's with top 10 upside. Jones absolutely has that sort of upside in his range of outcomes...he just needs to stay on the field.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's never a bad thing to have the running back attached to Andy Reid's offense, though Williams shouldn't go inside the top few rounds due to the question marks surrounding him. He's still yet to have more than 13 carries in a regular season game, so what makes us believe he's going to stand up to a full workload? The Chiefs also signed Carlos Hyde, who happens to be a pretty good running back, though all many remember is that he didn't produce while on the Jaguars. If you were deciding between Hyde and Williams on the same roster at this point last year, Hyde would've been the no-brainer. Williams may be a stud, but he also comes with dud potential. If you're looking for a running back who comes with top-six upside, but also comes with a high-degree of uncertainty, Jones is your guy. He's the most talented running back on what should be a top-five scoring offense, but it appears the Packers haven't given up on Jamaal Williams just yet. He's ideally someone you snag as your second running back due to the risk associated with him.
Kevin Wheeler
DraftWize
I'm assuming Williams isn't the starter over the entire season. Williams had a nice 4-game run to end the season, but was under 13 touches in two of them, he won't be the only fantasy producer in this backfield.
