Thielen wasted no time developing a solid rapport with Kirk Cousins in the QB's first season as a Viking in 2018. Last year was a different story, as Thielen missed six games with a hamstring injury. His 12 catches for 179 yards over two playoff games in January is encouraging, and he'll be the top option in Minnesota's 2020 passing game with Stefon Diggs having been traded. With former Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter hired as Atlanta's offensive coordinator prior to last season, Falcons QB Matt Ryan took more deep shots in 2019 than he had under Steve Sarkisian the prior couple of years. One of the beneficiaries was Ridley, who was on pace to surpass 80 catches and 1,100 yards when an abdominal injury in the first half of Atlanta's Week 14 game ended his season.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
For reasons I don't understand, Adam Thielan is going off the board as the WR11. After 14 games without topping 8 targets, you'd think the love for the soon-t-be 30-year-old would have faded but people are still flocking to him, hoping for a repeat of his historic eight game 100+ yard/10+ target stretch. Sadly, that was a long time ago and since then Gary Kubiak's scheme has come in and it just doesn't seem to suit him. While the absence of Stefon Diggs should ensure more volume, Thielan is likely to no longer play 40% of his snaps in the slot with Justin Jefferson arriving. Given he's three times as effective from the slot from a fantasy persepctive, that's a big issue! It's time to fade Adam Thielen.Calvin Ridley is the definition of a breakout candidate going into his third season. With Sanu and Hooper out of town and an offense that will need to continue throwing a lot, Ridley should be a strong fantasy option with massive upside if he can start to take over from Julio Jones. Just remember though, there's no guarantee the breakout happens this year so don't pay for his ceiling.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was a down year for Thielen in 2019, who's suddenly 30 years old (August 22nd, he will be) with back problems. That's not a recipe for success for a wide receiver, though it helps that he's the only steady presence at wide receiver. Most will look at the target totals from last year and wonder where his targets come from, but don't forget that Thielen saw 298 targets over the previous two seasons. Last year was an incredibly efficient year for the Vikings on the ground, and when you combine the fact that Thielen missed half the season, you can understand why their pass attempts came crashing down to earth. With the defense likely taking a step back after losing many starters, we should expect to see their run-to-pass ratio come back towards the league average, which would help Thielen's target potential. Knowing that he's the only receiver in the starting lineup who has any chemistry with Cousins, we should expect at least eight targets per game. That calls for him being a high-end WR2 at the very least when he's in the lineup, though his injury concerns have to be built into his cost. His current ADP is the WR11, which is too expensive for the risk you're taking on.Prior to getting hurt and having his season cut short, Ridley was on pace for 1,066 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019, which would have had him as the WR14. Now going into his third NFL season, there's a real chance for a breakout. Sure, Julio Jones isn't going away but he doesn't have to. Not many realize that Mohamed Sanu saw 94 targets in 2018 and was on pace for 96 targets before being traded in 2019. We don't really expect Russell Gage to fill that role, do we? If you want to know if there's room for both Ridley and Jones to be WR1s, look no further than the Bucs last year with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, even if it is rare for that to happen. Ridley saw 49 targets in the six games he played without Sanu, which would amount to 131 over an entire 16-game season. Ridley has real top-five breakout potential and is an ideal high-end WR2 on your fantasy team.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
Can Thielen keep the consistency going without Stefon DIggs? Are the injuries behind him?2020 is the breakout season
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Thielen should produce borderline WR1 numbers as the main main in Minnesota.Should breakout, but his ADP has entered 2019 Chris Godwin territory. Pressure to produce is very high, and may not be worth the cost.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
People seem to be forgetting about Adam Thielen this year due to the fact that he missed the final six games of 2019. Word of advice, don't ignore him. With Stefon Diggs now in Buffalo, Thielen is going to be a target magnet, especially in the red-zone. He is a solid WR2 with legitimate WR1 upside.Calvin Ridley is quietly becoming one of the league's best young breakout WRs. Even while playing second fiddle to Julio Jones, Ridley totaled 833 yards and 7 TDs last year and that was in only 13 games. The Falcons offense is always high-flying and I'd want to get as many pieces of that offense as possible, Ridley very much included.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Could push lofty 10 targets per game with WR Diggs out of the picture and new OC Kubiak likely to throw more often than old OC Stefanski did
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
WR 29 in PPG his rookie season and WR 17 in PPG last season. The arrow is pointing up for Ridley and he has a very safe floor. He won't have the overall WR1 upside that those around him like Evans and AJ Brown have, but he also has less questions.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
With Stefon Diggs being traded to the Buffalo Bills, Thielen has an incredible opportunity in front of him right now. While Justin Jefferson will take away some targets, Thielen's in line for a huge season. As long as he can stay healthy, he'll be a borderline WR1 all year. There may not be more of a value in all of fantasy football ADP right now than Ridley. He's connected to one of the best offenses in the NFL and he's essentially a lock to see over 115 targets if he plays all 16 games. At his current ADP, Ridley's a home run selection and has the potential of finishing the season as a WR1.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Adam Thielen is a fake value and that entire Vikings offense is going to be a mess post-Diggs. Don't bet on age 30 bounceback years from injury at a top 4 round price. @FF_RyanBMatt Ryan has supported 2 Top 24 PPR WRs four times in his career. Amongst active QBs, only Aaron Rodgers has more seasons of supporting 2 Top 24 WRs. @ClutchFantasy He's been pegged as a potential breakout player this year on one of the pass-heaviest offense in the league. Weeks 1-14 last season, he was the WR14 overall. @SWallace_FF

The Vikings went from 6th to 30th in attempts following the firing of Defilipo and promotion of Kevin Stefansky. Cousins thrived in the new system, ranking 9th in play action pass attempts. Thielen has seen a steady decline in targets dating all the way back to last year when Dalvin Cook returned from injury and the OC changes were made. Injuries have been an issue as well.Getting out targeted by Austin Hooper in the same amount of games can't feel great. Has been a TD king up to this point. My only small worry for guys like Ridley and McLaurin. They come out as seniors, basically fully developed, and we expect them to continue taking large steps forward when they most likely came out of college as more of a finished product, near their ceiling. However, now that Hooper has left, I would expect a better season, just based on target volume.

Thielen ended up missing 6 games due to injury and he finished with 424 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns. He should rebound from that with a healthy 2020 season, but he is more of a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3 in an offense that features RB Dalvin Cook.Ridley was solid with 900 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns, but he needs to work on consistency to be more than a WR3.

LOVE Thielen's upside as the Clear Cut No.1 in Kubiak's offense that PEPPERS NO.1 WRs
