Brandon Funston
The Athletic
He's been a WR1-level producer three years running, and he should be in line for a massive target share (with defections of WR Richardson, TE Graham) - Knee situation is cause for concern, but current indications are that he'll be good to go for Week 1 May not have teammate Diggs' upside, but he's yet to miss a game in his four seasons and he's serviceable or better (in some cases, much better) in most every aspect of being a receiver
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
While everyone seems to be foaming at the mouth to draft Rashaad Penny, it's Baldwin who is the most valuable asset on the Seahawks roster. It's rare to find a wide receiver who is as underappreciated as Baldwin, who has now finished as a top-13 wide receiver in each of the last three seasons. Not only has he averaged 1,062.7 yards in that span, but he's scored 29 touchdowns, and that was with Jimmy Graham on the roster. I shouldn't have to remind you that Graham is gone, and the Seahawks didn't add a wide receiver of significance to replace Paul Richardson. Baldwin is a low-end WR1 with upside. You should know that Baldwin suffered some sort of knee injury at the start of training camp and is expected to miss the preseason games. While he doesn't necessarily need the work as a veteran, it's added risk to his fantasy appeal. Most don't realize how much of an effect that Pat Shurmur had on Thielen's career, as he catapulted him into a household fantasy name. He was 26 years old when he broke out, something that doesn't happen all that often. The move to John DiFilippo will change some things, as will the move to Kirk Cousins, who has taken more chances down the field than game-manager Case Keenum did. That would play more into Stefon Diggs' skill-set rather than Thielen's. I do expect him to be a reliable fantasy producer, but he's not going to finish with 143 targets again. While doing research for Boom, Bust, and Everything in Between, Thielen finished as a WR3 or better just 56.3 percent of the time despite all those targets. Even if he scores more touchdowns, his lost targets are going to hurt.
Staff Rankings
QB List
"The Guy" in the Seattle receiving corps has been putting up big numbers for 3 seasons now and is poised to do so once again in 2018. The departure of Paul Richardson, and major additions to the Seattle offensive line give Baldwin a great shot at blowing away his relative down 2017 and regaining his spot among the top 10 receivers in fantasy. At the very least, Baldwin remains a key red zone target for Russell Wilson and a pass-happy Seattle offense now without overrated tight end Jimmy Graham."White Lightning" breaks into the top 10 this year as he managed to outpace Stefon Diggs in what was one of the best wide receiver duos in fantasy last year. Thielen's target share, great hands, and crisp routes made him the go-to receiver last year in a Minnesota offense that managed to get along just fine even without its star running back Dalvin Cook. Add in that extra Cook (certainly not too many here), the same stud defense, and Kirk Cousins under center, and you have the recipe for another stellar fantasy season from the breakout receiver.
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Baldwin continues to put up good numbers while not seeing the targets his talent level demands, but this season it will be difficult for him not to see his career high in targets with Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson gone and only Jaron Brown added to the receiving corps. The addition of Kirk Cousins can only help Thielen, who already had a strong season with Case Keenum under center.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
He's basically all Russell Wilson has so you have to consider his upside this year. That being said, he's already hurt so rust/injury have to be a concernDiggs could cut into his role a bit and he has to build chemistry with Cousins but he's clearly a stud
Andrew Gould
FantasyPros
Antonio Brown and Julio Jones are the only other wideouts besides Baldwin who have ended the past three years among the position's top 12. The rest of a glowing paragraph about him went down the drain upon news of him being out a few weeks with a knee injury. A superb early-draft target is now a dicey proposition until learning more about his Week 1 availability. Volume takes precedent over efficiency in fantasy. Just look at Thielen, who enjoyed a breakout campaign (91 catches for 1,276 yards) by receiving 50 more targets than 2016. He averaged an identical 14.0 yards per reception and saw his catch % drop from 75 to 64.1, but a starting role propelled him to stardom. A slow finish (20 catches, 217 yards over final five games including the playoffs) causes some concern, and his WR11 ADP requires investors to pay for his ceiling following a WR12 campaign.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Russell Wilson has been tremendous each and every year since he took over, and once again, Baldwin is far and away his top target. He should catch 70+ passes for the fourth consecutive season and continue his high TD-rate (29 TDs in 3 seasons). He isn't reliable game to game, however, otherwise he would be right up in the rankings with A.J. Green and Keenan Allen. With Pat Shurmur out of Minnesota, Thielen could see a major drop in targets. Granted, the quarterback situation has improved, but Dalvin Cook is back and should cut into those targets as well. At Thielen's current ADP, you might want to cool off of him.
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
Over the last three seasons, Doug Baldwin is one of four players to post over 3,000 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns.
Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
Remains a reliable fantasy option despite talent limitations; one of the elite workers in the NFLShould still put up WR2 numbers in a more agressive offense
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Baldwin averaged 9.1 fantasy points per game and if the Seahawks can improve their offensive line play, his production could go higher in 2018.Thielen averaged 9.6 fantasy points per game and was one of the most reliable possession receivers in the NFL. He could have even bigger numbers playing with QB Kirk Cousins.
