Lineups
Tyler Lockett finished last season as the WR14 in 1/2 PPR leagues. He had the 2nd-best catch rate of any wide receiver at 74.5%. He's the top target for one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Russell Wilson. He's lethal in the red zone and has 18 touchdowns over the last two seasons. This isn't how you describe a
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Thielen wasted no time developing a solid rapport with Kirk Cousins in the QB's first season as a Viking in 2018. Last year was a different story, as Thielen missed six games with a hamstring injury. His 12 catches for 179 yards over two playoff games in January is encouraging, and he'll be the top option in Minnesota's 2020 passing game with Stefon Diggs having been traded.Lockett became QB Russell Wilson's go-to guy in 2018, leading the Seahawks with career-high totals in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. He became an even bigger contributor to Seattle's passing game in '19 and was on pace to end the season with 99 catches, 1,269 yards and 10 scores before leaving Seattle's Week 10 game with a shin injury that required hospitalization.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was a down year for Thielen in 2019, who's suddenly 30 years old (August 22nd, he will be) with back problems. That's not a recipe for success for a wide receiver, though it helps that he's the only steady presence at wide receiver. Most will look at the target totals from last year and wonder where his targets come from, but don't forget that Thielen saw 298 targets over the previous two seasons. Last year was an incredibly efficient year for the Vikings on the ground, and when you combine the fact that Thielen missed half the season, you can understand why their pass attempts came crashing down to earth. With the defense likely taking a step back after losing many starters, we should expect to see their run-to-pass ratio come back towards the league average, which would help Thielen's target potential. Knowing that he's the only receiver in the starting lineup who has any chemistry with Cousins, we should expect at least eight targets per game. That calls for him being a high-end WR2 at the very least when he's in the lineup, though his injury concerns have to be built into his cost. His current ADP is the WR11, which is too expensive for the risk you're taking on.It was a tale of two different seasons for Lockett, as he started out the year hot, but then had an injury derail his production. Clearly, he was affected by a serious shin contusion that had him in the hospital. I won't pretend that D.K. Metcalf started removing some of his elite target upside, but even Lockett's efficiency went down the tube. Combining Lockett's games under Brian Schottenheimer prior to the shin injury, he's totaled 116 receptions for 1,732 yards and 16 touchdowns over a span of 25 games. That's pretty dang good. Knowing that I'm projecting a rise in pass attempts for the Seahawks overall, Lockett should see 110-plus targets as long as he's healthy, a number that goes very far with Russell Wilson as his quarterback. Seriously, stop talking about regression when it comes to Wilson's receivers. First it was Doug Baldwin. Regression never really happened. Then there was Lockett. Next, it'll be Metcalf. Lockett is perfectly fine as your WR2. He's the safer of the Seahawks receivers because his role is locked in. If the Seahawks were to sign or bring in someone like Josh Gordon/Antonio Brown, that would affect Metcalf a lot more.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
Can Thielen keep the consistency going without Stefon DIggs? Are the injuries behind him?Opposite D.K. Metcalf, I love the perimeter in Seattle. 8 touchdowns last season could certainly be 10 this season
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Thielen should produce borderline WR1 numbers as the main main in Minnesota.A bounceback looks inevitable. Russell Wilson is elite, and Locket is his favorite target.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
People seem to be forgetting about Adam Thielen this year due to the fact that he missed the final six games of 2019. Word of advice, don't ignore him. With Stefon Diggs now in Buffalo, Thielen is going to be a target magnet, especially in the red-zone. He is a solid WR2 with legitimate WR1 upside.Lockett continues to silence the doubters year after year in Seattle and I don't see that changing in 2020. His connection with Russell Wilson is otherworldly and that's a big advantage over a lot of guys who haven't been able to work with their QB's due to COVID. I like Lockett as a solid WR2 but unlikely to get the volume to propel him into WR1 status.

Could push lofty 10 targets per game with WR Diggs out of the picture and new OC Kubiak likely to throw more often than old OC Stefanski did

Adam Thielen is a fake value and that entire Vikings offense is going to be a mess post-Diggs. Don't bet on age 30 bounceback years from injury at a top 4 round price. @FF_RyanBWeeks 1-9 last season, he was the WR3 overall. He suffered a scary leg injury in Week 10 and was never the same afterward. He still finished as the WR13 for the season. @SWallace_FF In 2019, Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett ranked: 4th in yards gained on slot routes (770), 1st in touchdowns on slot routes (6), 11th in yards gained on 20+ yards downfield targets (379), 9th in receiving TDs (8) @EvanSilva - Tyler Lockett does not get a lot of targets, but the ones he does get are high leverage for fantasy. @LordReebs

With Stefon Diggs being traded to the Buffalo Bills, Thielen has an incredible opportunity in front of him right now. While Justin Jefferson will take away some targets, Thielen's in line for a huge season. As long as he can stay healthy, he'll be a borderline WR1 all year.Lockett's most likely going to play second-fiddle to Metcalf this season, but there are still going to be plenty of targets to go his way. Lockett's going to hover around WR2 territory all season long, but has the talent and rapport with Russell Wilson to finish even higher than that.

The Fantasy First Down
For reasons I don't understand, Adam Thielan is going off the board as the WR11. After 14 games without topping 8 targets, you'd think the love for the soon-t-be 30-year-old would have faded but people are still flocking to him, hoping for a repeat of his historic eight game 100+ yard/10+ target stretch. Sadly, that was a long time ago and since then Gary Kubiak's scheme has come in and it just doesn't seem to suit him. While the absence of Stefon Diggs should ensure more volume, Thielan is likely to no longer play 40% of his snaps in the slot with Justin Jefferson arriving. Given he's three times as effective from the slot from a fantasy persepctive, that's a big issue! It's time to fade Adam Thielen.Tyler Lockett put together another impressive season, breaking 1000 yards for the first time on the back of five 100+ yard performances and 8 TDs. His many bust weeks are a concern but the worries don't end there. D.K. Metcalf is a possibility to really impact his target share, as are quality tight ends Greg Olsen and Jacob Hollister. It's also worth monitoring the Josh Gordon and Antonio Brown rumours which won't go away. Ultimately he's a boom/bust mid-round pick with strong upside who has major floor issues but excellent weekly upside. Don't get sucked in too early.

Thielen ended up missing 6 games due to injury and he finished with 424 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns. He should rebound from that with a healthy 2020 season, but he is more of a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3 in an offense that features RB Dalvin Cook.Lockett did have a solid season with 1052 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns, but he seemed to take a backseat to Metcalf at times in the second half of the 2018 season. I think Lockett will be more of a WR3 than a WR2 in 2020 and he could likely be the second option in the passing game.

LOVE Thielen's upside as the Clear Cut No.1 in Kubiak's offense that PEPPERS NO.1 WRs

The Vikings went from 6th to 30th in attempts following the firing of Defilipo and promotion of Kevin Stefansky. Cousins thrived in the new system, ranking 9th in play action pass attempts. Thielen has seen a steady decline in targets dating all the way back to last year when Dalvin Cook returned from injury and the OC changes were made. Injuries have been an issue as well.18 TDs in the last 2 years on 180 targets(about a 19% target share). I'm not complaining about the TDs and he had a career high 110 targets in 2019 but TDs are not sticky and I think he might just play the highly efficient second fiddle to D.K.
