Hail to Fantasy Football
Into my top-40 RBs. Not exciting but could get 1000 rushing yards if he plays 16 games.Scott should be a distant #2 in a timeshare with Miles Sanders. But he should get plenty of touches. Up.
Elliot Berkovits
Pack to the Future
Peterson once again finds himself in a starting role, albeit on what will likely be an underwhelming Washington offense. Expect rookie Antonio Gibson to see a decent amount of work, especially in the passing game but Peterson will still have value in standard leagues. He should also see the bulk of the goal-line carries.Boston Scott is nothing more than a change of pace back. He's never been able to prove that he can handle a large workload consistently and Miles Sanders is ascending as the clear-cut RB1 in that offense. Outside of cuffing Sanders, Scott doesn't need to be drafted.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's remarkable what Peterson's been able to do at 33 and 34 years old, compiling nearly 2,000 rushing yards over the last two seasons, but now 35 years old and in a new offense with tons of competition, it's hard to see him making a difference in fantasy football. He's still likely to command 10-15 carries per game and maybe get goal-line duties, so he could fill in for a few weeks in flex spots for those who are desperate. The end of the 2019 season brought a lot of optimism for Scott's outlook, racking up 350 total yards and four touchdowns on just 61 touches over the season's final four games. During those four games, Miles Sanders scored exactly 1.3 more fantasy points than Scott. It may have been good enough for the Eagles to avoid free agent running backs and allow him to be the part of the timeshare duo with Sanders.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
With the recent news that Derrius Guice has been released by Washington, Adrian Peterson is the main beneficiary. While Peyton Barber, JD McKissic, and Antonio Gibson are all going to be involved in this offense too, AP should be moving up draft boards. He'll be a borderline RB3/RB4 this season and should be a consistent option to plug into your lineups on bye weeks, etc.Scott performed very well last season when he was given the opportunity and he should be the change-of-pace back in this system. It's unlikely that he sees enough volume to be a consistent weekly option for you, but he's someone worth taking a shot on late in your drafts in case he's more involved in the offense than we're anticipating.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
It's becoming increasingly likely Adrian Peterson somehow leads this backfield again. AD was very solid in 2019 and clearly still has the juice to be an NFL running back. While the sensible approach would be giving the many youngsters a proper chance, it's very possible Peterson is the starter and with the release of Derrius Guice, he's now a low-end starter who comes with plenty of job security risk.Boston Scott surprised a lot of people with his strong play to end 2019. I was personally excited as I was a big fan of him when he joined the Saints. Sadly there's little chance he offers weekly value outside PPR this season without a Sanders injury. Even if Sanders goes down, it's hard to see Scott taking on a workhorse role as he's just not built for it. In PPR he's a nice late grab but otherwise I'll be going for higher upside picks.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Peterson admittedly continues to run well despite his advanced age, but given his situation, there's next to zero chance that he turns into someone you can start at any point. The Washington backfield consists of Peterson, Derrius Guice, Peyton Barber, J.D. McKissic, Antonio Gibson, and Bryce Love, and to the extent one back could break out of that pack, it's likely to be Guice. On a team going nowhere with a sub-par offense, there's no reason to waste a pick on Peterson.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Miles Sanders was awesome down the stretch last season but so was Boston Scott with 82ppr points in the last 4 games. An underrated athlete, Scott makes an interesting late-round flier.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
Over the last 4 weeks of the season Scott averaged: 9.5 carries 6.25 targets 5.75 receptions 87.5 total yards a game He has carved out a roll if no one is brought in.
