After failing to catch more than three passes in any one of the six games Marcus Mariota started to begin last season, Brown tallied 38 receptions for 778 yards and six touchdowns over Ryan Tannehill's 10 regular-season starts. With Tannehill returning and the rest of Tennessee's offense remaining in tact, Brown enters 2020 with a considerable amount of fantasy upside.A season after a fractured ankle ended Beckham's 2017 in Week 5, he sustained a bruised quadriceps that sidelined him for the final four games of 2018. Although he suited up for all 16 games last season, he played through a core muscle injury that required surgery in January. He enters 2020 as an injury risk and with his fantasy fate tied to an immature QB who was dreadful in '19.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
AJ Brown was by far my favorite WR prospect last year but even I didn't expect his enormous late-season breakout. With teams focused on the Titans' running game, Brown was tremendously efficient, averaging over 20 yards per reception in an extraordinary display of efficiency. That won't happen again. While Brown should see a big jump in targets compared to his 84 last season, I can see massive TD and efficiency regression making him a risky weekly play. He is likely to have a lot of bust weeks and quite a few huge weeks. If you can handle that variance, go for it, I prefer a little more safety outside Best Ball leagues of course, where he's a stud.OBJ once again battled injuries and poor QB play as he disappointed for the third consecutive season. This year was arguably worse as he played 16 games despite injury but continued to disappoint most weeks. It's very difficult to trust Odell to any extent, especially with the potential move to an even more run-heavy offense and the arrival of Austin Hooper. While the possible injury issues for Jarvis Landry may initially open up some opportunities, there are many safer options this high in the draft.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
WPrior to the NFL Draft last year, I had D.K. Metcalf as my 1A receiver and Brown as my 1B. Loved them both, but Metcalf's landing spot moved him into the driver's seat. Maybe I underestimated just how much Brown could do without an elite quarterback. Despite not being a full-time player until Week 9 and seeing just 84 targets, Brown finished as the No. 21 wide receiver in his rookie season. There have been just 10 wide receivers over the last 10 years who've finished as a top-24 fantasy receiver while seeing fewer than 87 targets. Going back to when Ryan Tannehill started playing, Brown received a very stable 21 percent target share. That's not elite. Not bad, but not elite. Let's go from Week 9 through Week 17 when Brown moved to a full-time role. Brown's target share was 24 percent in that time, which ranked 10th among wide receivers. If we project Tannehill for 480-500 pass attempts, that'd amount to 115-120 targets. It is possible Brown's target share goes up but staying at 24 percent feels like it's repeatable. It's important to note that Brown averaged a ridiculous 8.9 yards after the catch last year, a number that isn't repeatable. You typically won't see even the best of the best receivers average more than 6.0 yards after the catch. If you move Brown down to the 5.5 range, he would've recorded 187 fewer yards and finished as the WR28. Then you must factor in Tannehill's ridiculous 7.7 percent touchdown rate regressing, so don't automatically assume that Brown's efficiency remains the same. He's still a phenomenal talent, but he needs to get the bump in pass attempts to take the next step. If I were guaranteed 500 pass attempts out of Tannehill, I'd draft him as a low-end WR1. It's best to be a bit cautious though and have some equity built in, making him a WR2 with serious upside. What in the world happened to Beckham in 2019? If we were replaying last season, we wouldn't be drafting him until the fifth or sixth round of fantasy drafts. But that's where fantasy players go wrong. That's a one-year sample size. We had 59 career games prior to that we can look at where he was the best game-by-game fantasy wide receiver of all-time. Which do you trust? Everyone on the Browns struggled last year and knowing that Beckham was playing through a hernia only added to the disappointment. 2019 was the first year he'd posted WR2 or better numbers in less than 66.7 percent of his games (which is ridiculous). We know the offense is changing, but that also comes with some concerns. While in Minnesota last year, Kevin Stefanski's wide receivers combined for just 201 targets and a 43.1 percent target share, which ranked as the fourth-lowest mark in football. Stefon Diggs, who is also very talented, saw just 94 targets in 15 games last year. While I don't expect the Browns to be as run-heavy as the Vikings were, it's an added level of concern. But here's the thing - it's not like a lot of the wide receivers in the 10-15 range don't come with similar issues or question marks. Beckham has done it before and has true No. 1 overall wide receiver upside. He's in the prime of his career at 27 years old and his only competition for targets (Jarvis Landry) is coming off hip surgery. Getting him as your high-end WR2 is worth it.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
If Tannehill/offense improve (or start passing more) , so does Brown, but this is the Derrick Henry show.Curious to see if he is truly over the 2019 injuries, but I just don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. Can't live off that one-handed catch forever...
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Brown is an alpha receiver, and Tannehill is underrated. His big play ability will flash more in 2020, but his TD regression should lower his floor a bit due to lack of volume.OBJ looks to bounce back ala Deandre Hopkins in 2016. He could produce an elite season for an average cost. Top target for teams going RB-RB
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
As a rookie on the Titans, there weren't very high expectations for Brown in 2019. Well, he proved everyone wrong catching 52 passes for 1.051 yards and eight TDs. Now he enters year two with Ryan Tannehill as his QB and could solidify himself as a reliable fantasy WR2.There may not be a more confusing WR in fantasy than OBJ. After his trade to Cleveland last year it seemed like he was primed for his best season yet, things did not go the way he expected. It was a very disappointing season for OBJ last year and now he needs to prove that he still has WR1 talent. That being said, if he and Baker Mayfield get on the same page, OBJ should outperform his ADP fairly easily.

Brown was the first wide receiver ever to put up at least 1,000 receiving yards on fewer than 90 targets, but the achievements don't stop there. He was third in yards per route run among wide receivers with at least 50 targets, second in passer rating when targeted, and first in yards per target. And that's to say nothing of the fact that Brown did all of this as a rookie who didn't even play at least 69.4% of the snaps until Week 9. The Titans aren't going to be a pass-heavy offense but Brown should still see an increase in targets, which should offset any decrease in his efficiency. Expect another big year from the wideout.Beckham fought through a core injury all last year, which he addressed this offseason with surgery. His talent is undeniable, but there are plenty of red flags. He's missed 21 games already in his career, has to share targets with a crowded group of pass-catchers, and will be playing for a head coach in Kevin Stefanski whose offense ran the ball 48% of the time last year. So it's unlikely that Beckham is going to see close to the more than 10 targets per game he has averaged in his career. There's immense upside with Beckham because, well, he's Beckham. But he's not going to see the 24.9% target share he saw last year, so you're better off taking him as your WR2 and hoping everything breaks right.

Flashed occasional vintage play-making skills in 2019 despite playing through sports hernia - at 27, with health restored, expect a big rebound, especially if WR Landry misses time

Brown established himself as one of the premier deep threats in the league as a rookie with 52 receptions, 1,051 yards, 20.2 yards per reception, and 8 touchdowns. He is the Titans lead receiver and he should be a WR1 playing with QB Ryan Tannehill.OBJ had a horrible first year in Cleveland with 1,045 yards receiving and 4 receiving touchdowns. He is more of a WR2 that needs to stay healthy and have better chemistry with Baker Mayfield to achieve WR1 status.

Last season, Ryan Tannehill ranked first in True Throw Value (TTV). A stat created by brotofantasy.com, true throw value measures a QB's efficiency throwing the ball. This certainly played into Brown's absurd efficiency last season, but I am happily doubling down on it. If you take a look at Tannehill's TTV two seasons ago with Miami, he finished 6th for all QBs. So Tannehill's efficiency is no fluke and neither is AJ Brown's skillset.

Brown's not going to be able to repeat his unsustainable efficiency in 2020, but he could see his target totals go up. Ryan Tannehill trusts him and he's likely to be a fringe WR1 all season long. I'm absolutely comfortable taking Brown at his current ADP as my WR2.OBJ is moving into the Adam Thielen role in Kevin Stefanksi's offense and should be the target leader in this offense. As long as he can stay healthy, OBJ has the potential to finish the season as a high-end WR1. However, there are legitimate concerns regarding OBJ's health and whether or not he's going to be to able to stay on the field for all 16 games. The benefit this season, versus in previous years, is that those concerns are baked into Beckham's ADP. He's a solid WR2 addition for your roster with WR1 upside.

In the final seven games, he earned a solid No. 1 role with 25% of the team's targets and 38% of their air yards; resulting in 622 receiving yards in those games. - He was noticeably absent in the playoffs which scares me a bit.Odell saw 137 targets last season and received a 26% target share, which led the team. Odell saw 15 targets in the red zone, but only came down with 1 TD in goal line situations. He finished with 4 TDs on the season. During the offseason Odell had sports hernia surgery and it was reported that he is near full health. In an interview he stated, "I would honestly say this is probably going to be one of my best seasons -- bigger, stronger, faster. This my time.'' Odell saw the 3rd most air yards last season, with 1,801. He is due for positive regression in a few different areas. @gnarlynickk

Started playing 65% of the snaps or more in week 9. From that point: 6.25 targets a game, 30/703/5, with the occasional rush. He was nice enough to make that an 8 game sample so just x2 for fun. Growing into a stud, struggled down the stretch but that encouraging thing is that he was very successful against man coverage. Where he faltered was zone coverage, and I think that's something he'll improve on with his work ethic and as he see's the field better. Former Saints DB, Kenny Vaccaro, is constantly telling AJ, "Mike(Michael Thomas) would still be working right now", really helping to instill a good work ethic on Brown, knowing what it takes to be the best. The problem? PASSING VOLUME. With Tanny under center the Titans averaged 27 attempts per game, they were already 31st overall, that would put them 32nd.Mulligan please. Played the year hampered by his core and a coach. Odell Beckham in the Kevin Stefanski, Stefon Diggs role would be awesome because Odell is better..Odell had the second most deep targets in 2019, with some of the worst production. Only the Carolina duo had worse numbers, of WRs with at least 21 deep targets, go figure.
