Sleepers and Busts
Things are looking up for Terry McLaurin. Washington brought in QB Ryan Fitzpatrick from Miami who isn't afraid the sling the rock around the field. He should provide an upgrade at QB. Alex Smith, bless his heart, was literally on his last legs and Dwayne Haskins was a bust. McLaurin still produced under that limited offense. He should take another step forward in 2021.It's amazing the stats Allen Robinson has put up with such lousy QBs. Last year he had 102 receptions 1,250 yards and 6 TDs. The Bears, unhappy with their offense, went back to the drawing board. First they signed QB Andy Dalton. Then they made a bold move to draft Ohio St QB Justin Fields after he slid in the draft. Fields might need time to learn the playbook. Nick Foles is still there too. They also drafted OT Teven Jenkins for a line which was in desperate need of an upgrade. Just think how good Robinson could be if the Bears actually scored a few TDs per game? Expect similar stats. The Bears offense is probably at least a year away from making a substantial leap.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
What McLaurin has done with the list of QBs he's played with up to this point of his career is honestly incredible. No matter who has been throwing him the football, McLaurin has got the job done for fantasy football. Now with Fitz in town, who loves to lock onto his WR1 and funnel them targets, McLaurin could go nuclear in 2021. There are enough other receiving threats in this offense to keep defenses from double-teaming McLaurin and he'll beat single coverage all day long with his route-running ability. There are plenty of other names in the range of ADP where McLaurin is going that have an excellent chance of returning top-12 value, but McLaurin's the most enticing. There's a strong possibility that we look back at the end of the 2021 season and talk about McLaurin as a top-5 WR.While the city of Chicago is elated that Fields is now in town, there's probably no one happier than Robinson. After playing with guys like Blake Bortles and Mitchell Trubisky for his entire career, Robinson finally has the chance to put up absurd numbers with competent QB play. He's still made it work and has been a fantastic fantasy asset for many years now, but this has the chance to be special. ARob will still be a very reliable receiver with Dalton behind center this year, but he has the chance to push top-5 WR status as soon as Fields takes over. Robinson's one of my favorite early WR selections this year.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Despite playing with a mixture of Dwayne Haskins, Alex Smith, Kyle Allen, and Taylor Heinicke the last two years, McLaurin has managed to produce 2,037 yards and 11 touchdowns. While that's not enough to get into the WR1 conversation, maybe the addition of Ryan Fitzpatrick is. We've watched Fitzpatrick support many fantasy wide receivers throughout his years, and he's been willing to target them relentlessly. It's part of the reason we loved DeVante Parker when Fitzpatrick was under center in Miami. There are suddenly a lot of mouths to feed in Washington, but McLaurin is the clear-cut No. 1 option who should be targeted 140-plus times in 2021 en route to what might be his first top-12 finish.Opportunity is everything, right? It's why despite Robinson's lackluster quarterback play, he's been able to finish as a top-12 receiver in back-to-back seasons. The upgrade to Andy Dalton was solid, but if the Bears play Justin Fields, it could be even better. Based on opportunity alone, Robinson should have finished as the WR4 in each of the last two seasons (that's based on how many targets he saw and where he saw them), so there's certainly room for improvement in his finish. Robinson has proven to be a WR1 with bad quarterback play in this same offense, making him one of the safer options as a low-end WR1/high-end WR2.
Wolf of Roto Street
Roto Street Journal
McLaurin is about to EXPLODE with Fitzmagic force-feeding him.Bears return = path to tons of volume. And now he'll have the best QB of his career throwing to him. Think ARob has a ceiling we haven't seen yet.
Benjamin Klotz
Touchdown Squad
It's very rare to find a player of Robinson's talent level and target share going in the 4th round. Robinson has never had good quarterback play and yet has still produced as a low-end WR1 - now that he'll have Fields at some point this year, his upside is tremendous. Robinson ranked 3rd in the NFL in targets last year (between Hopkins and Adams) and there's no reason to assume his targets should decrease too much. Further, those targets are hopefully better quality than what Foles and Trubisky were able to provide. The worst-case scenario here is that Dalton/Fields aren't much of an improvement and he still produces low-end WR1 numbers like he did last year. Getting Robinson anywhere from the mid-2nd and beyond is great value and he's someone I'm targeting in all my leagues.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Terry McLaurin had 180.3 fantasy points in 15 games, despite playing with a lot of ineffective quarterbacks. Ryan Fitzpatrick should help him be better on deep throws, but Fitzpatrick is a wild card at 38-years old.Robinson II had 211.9 in 16 games, despite playing with Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles. Robinson is a low-end WR1 that could have some upside if Justin Fields can earn the starting job and play at a high level.
Tim Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
There is three certainties in life: Death, Taxes and Ryan Fitzpatrick absolutely wearing out his number 1 receiver. Whether it was Devonte Parker in Miami, Mike Evans in Tampa Bay, Brandon Marshall in NY, Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins in Houston or even Stevie Johnson's 148 targets in 2012 in Buffalo, history shows that Fitzmagic loves to make footballs appear in his No. 1 WR's hands. This is excellent news for McLaurin, who has shown to be one of the most productive receivers in football despite the QB void Washington has has since drafting him. According to Matt Harmon's Reception Perception, McLaurin gets open at least three-quarters of the time against, man, zone and press coverage (respectively) while getting most of doubled 13% of the time (more than other clear top options on other teams including Allen Robinson and A.J. Brown. The bottom line is that McLaurin is a stud who has performed in spite of QB play. If Ryan Fitzpatrick can have the same success he's had the last 3 seasons, it could be a breakout year for the third-year budding superstar from Ohio State.
Joe Pisapia
FantasyPros
Terry McLaurin has been a victim of awful quarterback play over his short career. However, McLaurin has proven to be an excellent and consistent fantasy receiver regardless. Ryan Fitzpatrick is by far the best thrower of the football he's played with and McLaurin is poised for a career season. Consider him a low end WR1/high end WR2 this season.Allen Robinson has played with Blake Bortles, Blaine Gabbert, Nick Foles and Mitch Trubisky. Yet, he's still found a way to stay a fantasy asset over his career. Justin Fields/Andy Dalton are upgrades for the Bears and Robinson will continue to be the WR1 of the team with plenty of target volume in '21. Robinson has back to back 150+ target seasons and should be a PPR beast again this season with 100 rec and 1,200 yards well within his grasp.
