After posting back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to open his career, Cooper hit some speed bumps in 2017, as he finished with just 680 yards in 14 games. It was even worse than that, though, as he accumulated 30.9 percent of his yardage in just one game. We do know that his ankle caused him to miss nearly two full games, but it's rare to see a wide receiver struggle the way he did when coming off two impressive seasons. It may not have helped that Derek Carr was dealing with a back injury as well, so we'll chalk that season up to an outlier in what's been a great start to a career. The Raiders cut Michael Crabtree, which helps, but then brought in both Jordy Nelson and Martavis Bryant to replenish the weaponry (Bryant was later cut). Still, Cooper is the only one who has rapport with his quarterback, so I'd expect him to bounce back to WR2 status in 2018. Another fun fact: Gruden has produced at least one 1,000-yard receiver in each of his 11 years as a coach. Did you realize that Jeffery had just a 47.5 percent catch rate in 2017? That ranked 168th of the 211 wide receivers who saw at least one target in 2018. To know that he finished as the WR15 despite that is pretty amazing. The chemistry between him and Carson Wentz should grow as time goes on, though his touchdown rate will likely go down with Wentz's. Still, Jeffery is the clear-cut No. 1 receiver in an offense with a creative play-caller and franchise quarterback. His injury-riddled past is factored in, as he'd be higher on my list if he hadn't missed 11 games in the past three years with a lot of soft tissue injuries. News has been leaked recently that has him potentially remaining on the PUP list to start the season. If that's the case, he'll become nothing more than a late-round bench stash. As of now, it appears that he's likely to at least miss a few games.
Andrew Gould
FantasyPros
A WR31 outcome undersells how bad Cooper was last season. He secured only half of his 96 targets, dropped 10 passes, and totaled single-digit yards in five separate games. Week 7's 210-yard, two-TD outburst came after accruing 51 yards in four combined contests, meaning many managers probably benched him. Despite all of these caution signs, Cooper is still a 24-year-old with two 1,000-yard seasons under his belt. Jordy Nelson and Martavis Bryant likely won't absorb all 101 targets abandoned by Michael Crabtree, as Jon Gruden has made no secret about his intention to run Oakland's aerial attack through Cooper. A bounce-back is likely, but everyone appears to be assuming as much.A fruitful change of scenery made Jeffery's year. Despite a woeful 48 catch % and 3.6 receptions per game, his nine TDs (eight inside the red zone) cemented a WR15 finish. He remains the top wideout on a potent Philadelphia offense, but his year-by-year TD tallies (3-7-10-4-2-9) are living proof of the key stat's volatility. Confirmed to miss at least the first two games, Jeffery's stock should resemble Homer Simpson's attempt to jump the Springfield Gorge.
Jody Smith
FantasyPros
Jon Gruden's WR1's have an excellent track record and Cooper has little real competition for that role. Prime bounce-back candidate.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Despite playing injured and missing a few games, Cooper was still a WR3 last season. Had he seen his normal amount of targets, no one would think twice about drafting Cooper as a WR2, but that merely means the rest of us get an incredible value.Alshon could start on the PUP list to begin the season so make sure to pay close attention before your draft. He impressed last season, and especially in the playoffs, but let's not forget that he had fewer than 800 receiving yards and has proven to be injury prone in the past. There is upside for sure, but perhaps not quite at the price he is going for.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Cooper was a dud in 2017 with 48 receptions for 680 yards and 7 touchdowns with almost all of that production coming on TNF against the Chiefs. New head coach Jon Gruden should improve his 2018 outlook, but he is a WR3 until he stops dropping the ball and disappearing for games at a time. He averaged only 8.3 fantasy points per game, but he also lost his starting quarterback for the last 3 games of the regular season. The big concern is a shoulder injury that could cause him to miss time early in the season.

I don't expect anyone who owned him in '17 to buy in on him again, but Cooper's immensely talented and his target share should be major - the stars aligned against him last season, but he was a solid WR2 in his first two NFL seasons, a fact that should not be dismissed
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Derek Carr says that Cooper was hurting more than he let on last season, which gives some hope for this year. Cooper has a ton of ability but hasn't been able to put it together completely. I'm going to lean toward his ability more than his recent stats, but he's not a lock at this point and it sure looked like he would be.Jeffery is in a strong offense and will be able to start 2018 as a veteran of that offense rather than a rookie like last season. He scored seven touchdowns in his last seven games. UPDATE: Jeffery has yet to practice and there is a possibility he might not be ready for Week 1 and could even land on the PUP list, knocking him out of the first six games. The odds are against that, but keep an eye on his status. *
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
John Gruden has never failed to produce a WR without 1000 receiving yards. Cooper had a disappointing 2017, gaining only 680 yards, after starting his career with two 1000+ yards seasons. I expect Cooper to have a bounce-back year and easily out preform his current 3rd/4th round MFL10 ADP. Between weeks 8-15 last season (7 games) Alshon Jeffery totaled 30 catches on 62 targets for 427 yards and 7 touchdowns. As #Eagles gear up for the season, WR Alshon Jeffery has remained on PUP. Though he's progressing according to plan, sources say the timing of his rotator cuff surgery -- following the Super Bowl win - means there's a chance he may not be ready for the opener. Could stay on PUP. @RapSheet

Man is it weird to call them the LV Raiders Looks at angry produceroh yea, rankings. Got it. The NFL's most productive drop machine last season, Cooper and his 50 % catch rate (!!!) posted disappointing numbers across the board. He was fortunate to have even ended up with 7 TD's, and with only about 700 yards to his name, Cooper ended the year firmly outside of the top 25 in total points, even finishing behind Jermaine Kearse. Yikes. So why is he at 21 coming into 2018??!! Well a few things: no more Michael Crabtree 3/4ths of a year to get over that stone hands issue, a relatively firm lead receiver role, and a year in which Derek Carr is expected to rebound in a big way. Yes, plenty of these are baseless assumptions, but players with Cooper and Carr's skill sets are likely due for a great deal of positive regression. Don't expect Cooper to light the world on fire, but top 15 upside is there with such a stable role in a high potential passing offense. As a die-hard Eagles fan, I will sing to the heavens of the exploits of Alshon Jeffery last season. In a year of growth for both he, his quarterback, and his team as a whole, Jeffery only managed 57 receptions, 789 yards, though with a whopping nine touchdowns. These statistics however, belie the upside of a top 10 WR for two distinct reasons: 1) Jeffery was relied upon more toward the end of the season as his rapport with Carson Wentz, and later Nick Foles, strengthened, and most importantly 2) Jeffery played the whole season with a torn rotator cuff. Man that's tough. Look for a solid game-to-game floor with huge games mixed in for the #1 receiver in a dynamic Eagles offense.
Kevin Roberts

Gruden says Amari's role will be huge and the talent is there so I don't mind rolling the dice on him as a stud WR1 this year The Eagles spread things out offensively but Jeffery proved last year he can still dominate in stretches

Plan is to make him Carr's go-to guy for 2018Seems like a shoe-in for a top 25 performance after him and Wentz showed improved chemistry as the season progressed
