Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Jeffery wound up avoiding the PUP list, though he's unlikely to be able to suit up for at least the first game or two of the season. When healthy, Jeffery is an excellent fantasy option, capable of putting up WR2 numbers or better regularly. But coming off a Lisfranc injury, and with a checkered health history, it's hard to see him contributing all that much right out of the gate. With roster and IR spots at a premium this year, there's little reason to waste a draft pick on Jeffery until your starting roster is set.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Showing the ability at Oklahoma to consistently win by high-pointing passes, Lamb possesses strong hands and the explosive athleticism when attacking the ball. He has enough speed to play outside, where he's a big-play acrobat downfield. He'll need more polish to his route running before becoming a reliable fantasy receiver.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
CeeDee Lamb is an absolute stud in a super-charged offense but he's also a rookie with a heap of competition. Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and Blake Jarwin may all start the season ahead of Lamb on touches but it is reasonable to expect Lamb to close in on 100 opportunities and if that happens, he'll be a borderline WR2 given his likely efficiency. That's far from guaranteed but given his upside, Lamb is a valuable target once the double digit rounds arrive. The Eagles receiving corps is a massive mess but Alshon Jeffery remains the nominal WR1. While that's good in theory, he's very difficult to draft as a 30-year-old who is massively injury prone and coming off a Lisfranc injury which could see him start the season in IR. The upside does exist though as Jeffery has averaged double-digit half-PPR points each of the last seven seasons and is the major big-bodied receiver on the outside in Philly. He's a nice late gamble but you should be dropping him in advance of Week 1 if he's no good and you don't have an IR slot.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
When the Cowboys drafted Lamb at No. 17 overall, I wondered if he'd immediately take over Michael Gallup's No. 2 role in the offense, but cooler heads prevailed. Lamb is coming from the Big-12 where the defenses are pretty horrendous, so the learning curve might be bigger than some expect. On top of that, he's going to have zero game experience with no preseason. It seems very likely that Lamb will start out as a slot-heavy receiver, which should help his transition into the faster pace of the NFL, and it's a role that Randall Cobb saw 83 targets in last year. Keep in mind that was Cobb's first year in the offense, so we should see Lamb reach or exceed that number. But temper expectations in fantasy, as he's clearly the third option this year behind Cooper and Gallup. He's someone who belongs in the WR4/5 conversation. If either of Cooper or Gallup were to miss time, Lamb would be a WR3 start with upside for more. What can we say at this point? It's more of a surprise to see him on the field than off the field. He's now missed 20 games over the last five seasons and appears set to start the year on the PUP list after undergoing Lisfranc surgery in mid-December. You'd think he'd be good to go by now, but with Jeffery, nothing is a given. You can't stash a player on your bench for six weeks in a year like this, though Jeffery does have appeal in best ball and leagues that'll allow you to place him on an IR slot. In his three years with the Eagles, Jeffery has managed to rack up 285 targets over 38 games, which amounts to 7.5 targets per game. That's led to WR2 or better numbers in 42.1 percent of games, which would've ranked as the No. 24 wide receiver in 2019. The Eagles don't have much wide receiver depth/talent, so once he comes back, he should walk back in to at least six targets per game and offer WR3 startability most weeks.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
I believe Lamb was the most talented WR in this year's NFL draft but unfortunately for him, he got drafted to a team with two very good wideouts. That being said, there will be enough targets for Lamb to be fantasy relevant, but you won't want to have to trust on him weekly.Jeffrey played in only 10 games last year totaling 43 receptions, 490 yards, and four TDs. Now the Eagles have added first-rounder Jalen Reagor as well as John Hightower in this year's draft. Jeffrey's injury history and youth behind him have me nervous. He'll likely be a TD dependent WR who can only be played in favorable matchups.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
My main concern with CeeDee Lamb coming into the draft was that he didn't see much press coverage in the Big-12, he didn't show great proficiencies when he did face press coverage, and he's not as polished of a route-runner as some of the other guys in this class. Lamb landing in Dallas alleviates all of those concerns because I believe he's going to play in the slot for this offense. Slot receivers are aligned off the line of scrimmage, which prevents them from seeing press coverage. Lamb's going to be a target hog in this offense and he's in a great situation to succeed.Jeffery seems destined to start the 2020 season on the PUP list, unfortunately. With that being the case, Jeffery is nothing worth more than a stash if your league has an IR spot. If it doesn't, Jeffery should go straight to your waiver wire and you can attempt to pick him up later on. He does have upside when he's on the field, but at this point in his career, he may be more of a headache to own in fantasy than he's worth.

Targets aren't simply redistributed when players leave. With that said.. 166 targets have left, and even if the Cowboys decide to use Jarwin more, he's not going to take up the entire 120 target TE pie that was happening last year. Lamb comes in to replace Cobb, who just had a 55/828/3 season. He can be able to make an immediate impact while seeing subpar coverage, the same reason he might be inconsistent though, a lot of mouths to feed. Not worried about Jarwin thoughDo you really want to draft a WR that hasn't been over 850 yards since 2014, has only played 16 games twice in his career, is recovering from a Lisfranc injury, and relies on unreliable TDs for fantasy production at age 30?

Tough surgery recovery awaits. Eagles added immense speed on the outside, which could actually make Alshon's life a whole lot easier working the short and intermediate sideline.

Lamb has a chance to be an impact rookie with big-play ability operating both out of the slot and outside. He is a WR3 with upside playing with QB Dak Prescott.
