Hail to Fantasy Football
I keep moving him up my rankings. And if Luck misses time, I think that might actually help him with more volume.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Mack was given 20+ touches more often than any running back in football not named Zeke last season. Most take that to mean he has bonkers upside, especially considering the incredible offense he plays in which features the best offensive line in the game. The fact of the matter, however, is that Mack's target share is too low for top 5 RB upside unless Nyheim Hines suddenly goes away. Even so, he is a safe bet to finish in the top 24 RBs.Cooper has put up some historical numbers to start his career despite playing in an awful offense that refused to throw him the ball. It was no wonder he exploded with a new offense and better quarterback despite learning the playbook on the fly. The ceiling is enormous in his first full season with Dallas but there is also quite a bit of unknown too, particularly his plantar fasciitis.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Mack missed four of the first five games due to injuries, but still managed 908 rushing yards, 4.7 YPC and nine TDs. He is playing behind an emerging offensive line and he should be a low-end RB1 in 2019.Cooper was a great addition to the Cowboys passing offense, but he is a little hit or miss in their run-heavy scheme. He is a low-end WR1 that should see a ton of targets in the passing game.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
The ADP is a bit odd to me. Yes, he is on a tremendous offense and is the lead back, but he does not have a role in the passing game and will be TD dependent in games where his yardage total is not high. He is similar to Sony Michel, who I just wrote an article about (brotofantasy.com) saying not to draft. Mack had less than 40 total yards in 5 of the 11 games he played in last season and 7 of his 9 TDs came from outside of those games.Yes, Coop was a stud with Prescott looking at the surface numbers, but look close and see that it was regular ol' Coop. In 9 games with the Cowboys, Cooper put up single digits 4 times, under 15 7 times, and two monster games where he put up around 35 and 45. The inconsistencies continued.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
I am not going to draft Mack at all this season. I don't understand how a guy with so many flaws is being drafted in the third/fourth round. Mack doesn't catch passes, he's not dynamic enough to break off big runs, and is entirely useless in games where the Colts are trailing. He's a TD-dependent RB2 being drafted as much more.Amari Cooper's career high in TD's is 7. He's passed 1100 yards once. He's passed 75 catches once. He played 9 games for Dallas and put up FOUR games in which his stat line was less than or equal to 5/36/0. And you want to take him in the third round?
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
He's in line to push 20 touches per game for what could be one of the very elite offenses of '19 - was No. 11 RB in half-PPR PPG in '18, and closed out final 5 games (inc. playoffs) with 5 TDs and avg. of 101 YFS
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
When drafting a running back in the third-round, it's likely they're going to be the No. 2 running back on your fantasy team, and Mack is ideal for that role. He's struggled to stay healthy to this point in his NFL career, but in this offense, he has legitimate top-five upside. He plays behind what might be the best offensive line in football and has one of the better quarterbacks in the league to take pressure off. If he stays healthy, he'll be worth more than a third-round pickIt was good to see Cooper go to Dallas and get consistent targets, as that's something he was missing throughout his time in Oakland. He saw at least five targets in each of his nine games with the Cowboys, while seeing seven or more targets in 7-of-9 games. Because of that, he finished as the No. 4 wide receiver in fantasy from the time he joined them, behind only Antonio Brown, Davante Adams, and Julio Jones. He may not offer the consistency that those guys do, but not many do. Cooper should be on the low-end WR1 radar
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Mack finished last season with 4/12 games over 115 rushing yards. He's going to be the lead back in a high powered offense, so there's plenty of upside with this pick. Before you get too excited, there are still some negatives with Mack. He was 30th in yards per carry after contact, 33rd in breakaway percentage, 38th in yards created per carry, 54th in elusiveness rating and 55th in juke rate. When it comes down to it, even if Mack isn't as talented as we might think he is, opportunity matters infinitely more than talent. Mack is going to get a lot of opportunity on an elite offense. So makes him a good pick. I won't be going out of my way to target him, since Hines eats into his receiving upside. However, I'm not afraid to take him where he's going.I love Amari Cooper this season. He's finally out of Oakland, and in a place where he can see consistent volume. Dak Prescott is by no means an elite QB, but he's a big upgrade from Derek Carr. In the 9 games after being traded last season Cooper averaged 6/80/0.67. He was used in all areas of the field, and he showed his weekly upside with 2 games over 180 yards and 2 scores. He did all of this after being traded in the middle of the season. Receivers usually struggle when they change teams during an offseason, so the fact that he was able to produce right away is incredible. After a full Summer to train with the team, I expect Cooper to have some monster games this season. I'd be very excited to get Cooper in the third round. That's the point in the draft where you should have locked up two stud skill position players already. So capturing the weekly upside of Cooper on top of that is a no brainer.
Kevin Wheeler
DraftWize
Marlon Mack had four games with 125 or more rushing yards in the regular season or post season, tying him with Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliot for tops in the league, no other running back had more than two.
