FantasyPros
Cooper's been a frustrating player to roll out in fantasy lineups over the past few seasons due to his tendency to simply disappear some weeks. This season, he now has to compete with Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb for targets, which isn't going to help alleviate those concerns from fantasy players minds. Cooper certainly has the talent to take over and single-handedly deliver you a victory any given week, but his inconsistencies are likely to extend over into this season. Cooper's a risky pick at his current ADP.Gordon's going to be splitting time with Phillip Lindsay this season, but Gordon should be the lead back in this offense. The Broncos are going to want to run the ball and Gordon should easily see over 210 carries this year. He's a solid RB2 option for your fantasy rosters.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Amari Cooper was the WR9 in 2019 but boy it didn't feel like it for Cooper owners. WhileMelvin Gordon to the Broncos is not as bad as most think. Gordon was clearly losing his role to Austin Ekeler and he now moves to an impressive run offence where he should be the clear lead guy. While Lindsay will clearly have a role, I expect Gordon to take the goal line carries, the 3rd down work and at least half of the between the tackles stuff making him the clear value in Denver. Given the Broncos backs combined for over 350 carries and 78 receptions, there's a lot of points to go around and Gordon should get the bulk of it. If Lindsay goes down there's always a chance he's a league winner too so the upside is there. Take a chance on him in the late 3rd round.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Can be a frustrating week-to-week rollercoaster ride but his 13.5 Half PPF FAN PPG mark in 25 regular-season games in DAL is Top 12 level production at WRShould be good for 250+ touches in new DEN home given RB Lindsay's woeful pass blocking - DEN O-line graded out well in run blocking in 2019, which bodes well
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
You won't find a bigger Cooper fan than me, but he may be a tad overrated in the fantasy world. Since arriving in Dallas, he's played 25 games. In those games, he's finished as a WR2 or better in just 11 of them. While it's difficult to find players that hit that mark over 50 percent, you want your WR1 to hit that mark more often than not, which is something Cooper can't say. Now adding CeeDee Lamb to the mix, he may lose some of his target upside, though he didn't have an elite target share to begin with.He left the Chargers at the right time, as they're going to be going through a transitional period. Instead, he joins a now-exciting Broncos offense that suddenly has tons of firepower. You don't add Gordon in free agency if you don't plan on using him as your lead back. The potential upside is that new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur has been a one-back kind of guy, so it's possible that Phillip Lindsay is just there to give Gordon breathers when he needs them. With Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler, and Noah Fant out there are receiving threats, Gordon should see a lot of light fronts this year. He's a middling RB2 with RB1 upside if they decide to give him 15-plus touches per game.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
Will always be underrated because of his inconsistency IMO. Finished as WR10 on the year with only 119 targets and constantly dealing with injury. If he returns to Dallas he will continue being the alpha. Cobb might get some McCarthy love, Gallup will get some 3rd year leap love, but Cooper will always remain the clear 1 for me. Gallup still struggles with catch consistency and Cobb is a nice slot piece but nothing more, especially for fantasy. Could also be out the door.1 year to go off because Vic, and his OC Scangarello don't have much history at their current positions. Denver was an average ball running team in 2019. 409 attempts. The 100 RB targets were nice. Someone is going to disappear out of this offense. I think it's assumed to be Royce, I can believe that, but what roll do they plan on losing Lindsay in? Breather back? He can not pass block, Royce is the best on the team for that. So Lindsay now appears to lose out in every phase, one way or another to his teammates, might see less work than anticipated.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Cooper really did not build on his 2018 season and finished 2019 with 1,195 yards receiving and 8 receiving touchdowns. Cooper is among the most talented receivers in the league and worthy or WR2 value, but he is not consistent enough to be a WR1.When Gordon is healthy, he is capable of 1,500 yards from scrimmage and double digit touchdowns. He should be the lead back in Denver, but it will be a very crowded RBBC.
