FantasyPros
It was good to see Cooper go to Dallas and get consistent targets as that's something he was missing throughout his time in Oakland. He saw at least five targets in each of his nine games with the Cowboys, while seeing seven or more targets in 7-of-9 games. Because of that, he finished as the No. 4 wide receiver in fantasy from the time he joined them, behind only Antonio Brown, Davante Adams, and Julio Jones. He may not offer the consistency that those guys do, but not many do. Cooper should be on the low-end WR1 radarIt required at least 11.7 PPR points to finish as a WR3 or better in 2018. That's a number Woods hit in 87.5 percent of his games. The wide receivers who did it more? Davante Adams, DeAndre Hopkins, and Antonio Brown. That's it. He doesn't offer the upside of the top-tier guys, but as a consistent WR2 in your lineup, Woods gets the job done
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
You have to like what you saw from him in DAL - in 11 games, counting 2 playoff contests, he caught 66 passes for 896 yards and 7 TDs - dealing with heel strain, but apparently it's something he's managed to play through in the pastThere was negligible difference between him and teammate Cooks in fantasy last season - both were tucked right inside the top 20 in half-PPR FAN PPG
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Cooper was dynamic after a mid-season trade to the Cowboys and, absent injury concerns, he'd be a solid WR1 this year. But he has battled a foot injury all preseason, which has alternatively been referred to as plantar fasciitis, a strained heel, and a muscle strain. Whatever the injury is, it's clearly still bothering Cooper, and it's unclear if his availability for the Cowboys' first game is questionable. For now, fantasy owners should drop Cooper a few spots in their rankings. But don't let him slip too far absent word that his availability for the regular season is in doubt.Woods has been outstanding in his two seasons with the Rams, and he posted career-highs in most relevant categories last year. Like Brandin Cooks, Woods was actually better with Cooper Kupp on the field, so Kupp's return shouldn't be viewed as a negative. There's little downside with Woods at this point, so draft him as a strong WR2 and enjoy the production.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
In 2017, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). In 2018, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). @ScottBarrettDFB Cooper has been dealing with plantar fascia irritation which has caused him to miss practice and the Cowboys last two preseason games. This is something that could linger and affect practice time but should not affect meaningful games. There are ways to get players thru game day. @ProFootballDoc
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Cooper has put up some historical numbers to start his career despite playing in an awful offense that refused to throw him the ball. It was no wonder he exploded with a new offense and better quarterback despite learning the playbook on the fly. The ceiling is enormous in his first full season with Dallas but there is also quite a bit of unknown too, particularly his plantar fasciitis.Woods ends a six-man third-tier of fantasy receivers before a huge drop-off to the fourth tier. It might not feel as sexy as some other picks in the fourth or fifth round, but there is something to be said for his safety week to week and year-long in this Rams' machine of an offense.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Cooper was a great addition to the Cowboys passing offense, but he is a little hit or miss in their run-heavy scheme. He is a low-end WR1 that should see a ton of targets in the passing game.Woods and Cooks were 1A and 1B in the passing offense last year, but the return of WR Cooper Kupp should make Woods a boom / bust WR3 most weeks.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Amari Cooper's career high in TD's is 7. He's passed 1100 yards once. He's passed 75 catches once. He played 9 games for Dallas and put up FOUR games in which his stat line was less than or equal to 5/36/0. And you want to take him in the third round?Woods With Kupp: 5.6 - 85.48 - 0.38 Woods Without Kupp: 5.15 - 66.87 - 0.38 There is no reason to think Woods will digress with Kupp back and healthy. Woods is the definition of a rock-solid WR2.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Yes, Coop was a stud with Prescott looking at the surface numbers, but look close and see that it was regular ol' Coop. In 9 games with the Cowboys, Cooper put up single digits 4 times, under 15 7 times, and two monster games where he put up around 35 and 45. The inconsistencies continued.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
I love Amari Cooper this season. He's finally out of Oakland, and in a place where he can see consistent volume. Dak Prescott is by no means an elite QB, but he's a big upgrade from Derek Carr. In the 9 games after being traded last season Cooper averaged 6/80/0.67. He was used in all areas of the field, and he showed his weekly upside with 2 games over 180 yards and 2 scores. He did all of this after being traded in the middle of the season. Receivers usually struggle when they change teams during an offseason, so the fact that he was able to produce right away is incredible. After a full Summer to train with the team, I expect Cooper to have some monster games this season. I'd be very excited to get Cooper in the third round. That's the point in the draft where you should have locked up two stud skill position players already. So capturing the weekly upside of Cooper on top of that is a no brainer.Woods finished last season as the WR 11 with an 86/1219/7 stat line. Woods was the most consistent WR on the Rams roster last season, posting double digit fantasy points in 14 of 16 weeks, while going over 60 receiving yards in that same number. While the consistency was nice, he showed a slightly lower ceiling than the other receivers near the top 10. Woods topped out at 109 receiving yards, and he topped 22 fantasy points just twice. Woods was extremely durable last season, playing in 98.6% of Goff's snaps. He appeared in every game, and was really an every down player in all of those games. That was his best season as a pro, not only from a production standpoint, but also when looking at his health. He's suffered 2 ankle sprains, a pulled back, a groin tear, a knee strain and a shoulder strain. Despite these injuries, he's still been able to appear in 89% of his possible games. Sports injury predictor gives him the highest percent chance to miss time due to an injury with 3 projected games missed. I think that projection is fine, but I wouldn't worry too much about him having the highest chance to miss time, It's really just because he's missed a game in 4/6 seasons…but he's never missed more than 3 weeks, and it's not a big deal if he misses a game or two. I don't think you should be concerned at all with his injuries. This will be Woods's 7th season as a pro, last year being his first with over 800 yards, although it's tough to blame anyone for not producing while on the Bills. In his first season with the Rams he was on pace for over 1,000 yards…but he missed 3 games with a shoulder injury, and then the starters were held out of week 17. I also want to mention his splits with and without Kupp. With Kupp out of the lineup last season Woods averaged the same number of targets, but for half a reception less, and for 19 less yards. He also averaged 2.3 less fantasy points per game. So, the return of Kupp actually helps him. Ultimately, Woods should be viewed as a safe pick. He's a consistent point scorer on an elite offense, and he's still just 27.
