Guaranteed top-5 WR, baring injury.Third year boom? or is he just not as great as everyone thinks he is... At worst he's equal to Crabtree so he has a very safe floor. I expect increased TD volume from Cooper this year, he was the victim of 4 pass interference penalties in the end-zone last year and with everyone claiming he can't get it done as a red-zone target I expect they will have extra focus on it in camp.
Brandon Funston
Fantasy Analyst
If Big Ben hadn't missed 2 games, and if Brown hadn't missed his 1st game since '12, we'd likely be talking about him finishing as the top fantasy WR for his 3rd straight season - as it was, his No. 3 WR finish in '16 still wasn't too shabbyThe talent is obvious and he's a natural @ WR, which continues to prop up his draft value even though he's finished No. 14 and No. 23 in FAN PTS at WR in his 1st two seasons in the NFL - he's got a Julio Jones issue going on in that his lack of TD production is holding him down - but he's only in Year 3, and there's no reason he can't burn that label in '17 (QB Derek Carr willing)
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Brown had a down year for him, but there wasn't much room for him to exceed his previous three fantasy finishes. He's still easily in the top-wide receiver conversation and even the top-overall-pick conversation, as the Steelers' offense should remain strong.Cooper has a nice young quarterback, but has yet to reach his upside as a receiver. He's not used in the red zone like his counterpart Michael Crabtree, which hurts, but Cooper is the no-doubt No. 1 receiver in Oakland and will begin to take on a bigger work load.

5th Down Fantasy
Pretty great "down" year for Brown in 2016 (106/1,284/12) in 15 games; most durable and highest floor of the top tier WRs.Sidelined with injuries in camp; Carr continued to target Crabtree over Cooper last season (head-scratcher); 21 catches over 20 yards fourth best in N.F.L. last season).
Staff Rankings
QB List
I don't know that I have to do much convincing to tell you that Brown is the best wide receiver in football, and probably the best player in fantasy football. His 2015 stats were insane, and while his stats went down a little in 2016, he still finished the year with 106 catches, 1,284 yards, and 12 touchdowns, and that was in a season that Ben Roethlisberger missed time. He's a no-brainer top pick. While Cooper is the no-doubt number one receiver in Oakland, teammate Michael Crabtree tends to snag the red zone targets more than he does. That being said, Cooper's got a young, talented quarterback, a solid offense behind him, and loads of talent. It's entirely possible that this year could be his breakout year, it's gonna happen soon.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Last year, Brown was only the #12 VBD player overall after finishing #1 in 2015, as running back depth took a huge hit and his yardege dropped 550 from the year before. If Big Ben can stay upright, we should see him return to the top 5 this year and is well worth a high first investment.Cooper was outperformed by Michael Crabtree for the second straight season, but he is still just 23 years old and has two 1,000 yard seasons to his name. The touchdown rate is bound to catch up eventually, at which point he would be a clear cut WR1.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
He's still probably the most talented WR in the league and missed the #1 spot by 7 fantasy pts last year

Only an injury to Ben Roethlisberger will slow down AB 84. Auction Value $40 A double-digit touchdown season could make Cooper a top Fantasy wideout. Auction Value $29
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's now four straight seasons where Brown has finished as a top-seven wide receiver, including two seasons as the No. 1 receiver. He's averaged 1,579 yards and 10.8 touchdowns in that span, and keep in mind that he posted his two best seasons while Martavis Bryant was on the field with him.The fact that he finished as the No. 12 wide receiver despite catching just five touchdowns and seeing 13 redzone targets says something about his potential. His efficiency spiked in his second year with Derek Carr and Michael Crabtree will be on the wrong side of 30 when the season starts.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Brown has been 1st, 1st and 3rd among fantasy receivers the last 3 years and he should continue to be the most consistent fantasy receiver.Cooper has progressed nicely in his first two years, but if he is going to take the jump to elite fantasy receiver, he needs to score more than five touchdowns per season.
