Zachary Hanshew
FantasyPros
Perriman finished the 2019 season red hot, posting a 25/506/5 receiving line over the Bucs' final five games of the season. He parlayed that strong finish into a new deal with the Jets, where he'll slide into the deep-threat role vacated by Robby Anderson. On a team desperate for playmakers in the receiving game, Perriman could find success in his new home.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Believed to be the fastest player at any position selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, Ruggs is in the Tyreek Hill/John Ross class when it comes to pure long speed. With his route tree being somewhat limited after spending the past couple of seasons at Alabama either stretching the field or getting the ball on quick screens, he's likely to be a boom-or-bust fantasy option as a rookie in 2020.Signed as a deep threat to fill the void created by Robby Anderson's departure, Perriman tends to not show up until very late in the season: He has tallied 50 catches for 993 yards and eight TDs over 17 career games played after the month of November as compared to 45 catches for 568 yards and three TDs over 34 games played in September, October and November.
Bart Wheeler
Hail to Fantasy Football
All Raiders WRs get a bump up with Tyrell Williams out for the season.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
This new Raiders offense has a lot of weapons. Josh Jacobs will do most of the hard work on the ground and that's the key to this offence but through the air there are targets aplenty. Darren Waller, Tyrell Williams, Henry Ruggs, Bryan Edwards, Hunter Renfrow, Lynn Bowden, Jalen Richard and Devontae Booker will all have a chance to be involved so that really limits the upside for the rookie deep threat. The news that Ruggs may start in the slot gives him far more upside but as a rookie, he's still likely to be limited in his rookie season.Breshad Perriman has an intriguing opportunity to make an impact in a Jets offense that made Robby Anderson the WR39 in a similar role. While Denzel Mims is capable competition on the other side of the field, Sam Darnold staying healthy will certainly give Perriman the opportunity to finally break out for a whole season. He's a great late gamble and even better in Best Ball leagues.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It appears that the Raiders will start by using Ruggs in the slot, which makes more sense than most realize. He's fast, sure. However, that's not his best attribute. He's slippery in the open field, takes great angles and utilizes his speed to get away from defenders. The best thing to do is get Ruggs the ball in his hands and let him create. Did you know that Jerry Jeudy had more than double the deep-ball receptions that Ruggs did while at Alabama? It's because Ruggs was used a lot on screens and reverses. Putting him in the slot will manufacture touches to get the ball in his hands and let him create. He shouldn't be pigeonholed to the slot, and I don't think he will be, but playing there is not a bad thing. Did you know slot targets are worth 10.8 percent more than perimeter targets? Seriously, I've done the research (can be read here). On top of that, Derek Carr had the lowest average depth of target among quarterbacks last year, so should love someone like Ruggs who creates after the catch. When a team spends a No. 12 overall pick on someone, they're going to find ways to get him the ball, so finding out the slot is his primary home makes you feel better about his potential in year one. I'd say his floor should be around 70 targets with a ceiling of 100 targets. He should also get some carries mixed in. Because of that combined with his one-play upside, he's worth WR3 consideration. Fortunately, you don't have to use a high pick on him, as he's going around the 11th-12th round. Even if you reach a round or two, I don't think you'll be disappointed if you have him on your roster as a WR4 with tremendous weekly upside.Perriman is now on his fourth team in as many years. It's tough to be a reliable fantasy option when that's the case. Not only that, but the Jets are still under Adam Gase, which means there won't be many plays per game (he's been under 59 plays per game in each of the last two seasons). The Jets have what I deemed the toughest schedule in the league for perimeter wide receivers, so even if we see Perriman get the targets, he's unlikely to be efficient with them. He closed the 2019 season with 25 receptions for 506 yards and five touchdowns over his last five games, which will have some intrigued, but my guess is that you'll drop Perriman for a hot waiver wire pickup, as Gase's offense isn't Bruce Arians' and Sam Darnold isn't Jameis Winston. There will be weeks where Perriman snags a deep ball and pays off, but those are the types of players you can find on the waiver wire all the time. I just don't see him getting more than 5-6 targets per game.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Maybe the most electrifying player from this year's draft class, regardless of position, Henry Ruggs finds himself in Oakland which doesn't seem like the best possible fit for his skill set. Ruggs has elite speed which should be utilized deep down the field but Derek Carr has never been known as someone who throws many deep balls. Even still, Ruggs is supremely talented and will have some huge games but expect there to be more down weeks than up.After a semi-breakout season last year in Tampa Bay, Perriman now finds himself in New York catching passes from Sam Darnold. Things could be worse but Perriman is known for his ability to beat a defense over the top and deep balls aren't exactly Darnold's strong-suit. He'll have some big games but won't be reliable enough to be a weekly starter.

Perriman is a downfield threat who was thrusted into the league with Joe Flacco at QB. During Perriman's time with the Ravens, Flacco was close to last in the league in yards per attempt. The complete opposite of Perriman's game. In Cleveland, Perriman did not play much, but Baker had a solid 7.7 Y/A and Perriman averaged an elite 21.3 yards per reception. Then last season with Winston, a QB with Y/A over 8, Perriman broke out and played like the first round pick that he was. If Darnold throws downfield more this season, which is possible with the brand new and much better offensive line, Perriman will be one of the biggest draft day steals.

You know the Raiders are excited about Ruggs, drafting him as the first receiver off the board. It's going to be tough for any rookie receiver to succeed this year given the lack of preseason games, but Ruggs is in a good situation all things considered. His incredible speed (he scored a touchdown on a quarter of his receptions in college) should play well with Derek Carr, so there should be plenty of short routes where Ruggs can simply let his wheels do the work after the catch. In other words, chemistry with Carr may not be quite as important as it would be with other rookie wide receivers given Ruggs' likely low average depth of target, so he's an ideal bench receiver to stash and see what he can do early in the year.

Henry Ruggs going first off the board was a bit of a shocker to the Las Vegas Raiders, but he fits this offense perfectly and will step in and assume the Tyrell Williams role. This offense now has a bit more competition for targets than it did last year, but Ruggs is still going to have an impact for fantasy football. He won't be a steady week in and week out contributor, most likely, but he's someone you can plug into your lineup every week to bring tremendous upside. His pre-draft ranking in my system of WR2 has him still up here towards the top of the board.Perriman was fantastic in TB down the stretch last season, but he's now on his fourth NFL team in his short career. Perriman has always had the talent, but it's never clicked at the NFL level. Can he sustain that success he saw at the end of last season and be a viable option for fantasy football in 2020? He's got the opportunity, but he might not be in the right offense for it. Perriman's nothing more than a dart throw at the end of your drafts and he shouldn't be considered someone that you can rely on for production this season.

Perriman, averaged 2.46 yards per route ran over last four games of 2019 (419 yards and 5 TDs). -(@dwainmcfarland) He finished '18 on a positive note as well with Cleveland. He comes to the Jets as the Robby Anderson replacement, but we should expect him to start out slow as it can take time for a QB to gain trust in a new WR.

Immediately could slide in for WR1 volume... but Carr is a major concern as a risk-averse thrower.Like his volume upside with Jets, esp. w/ the team avoiding first-round WRs and beefing the line up instead.
