Hail to Fantasy Football
Up slightly. Looks like the Jets could be playing a lot of rookies in Week 1.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Elijah Moore certainly has his fans in the fantasy community, but it's important to temper expectations for him in year one. He's a rookie receiver playing with a rookie QB on a team that doesn't exactly figure to be a playoff contender in 2021. Additionally, the path for Moore to get onto the field isn't exactly evident at the time of writing. Jamison Crowder is still on this roster and he's going to get the nod at the starting slot role, which is where Moore will play. Until Crowder is no longer in the picture, Moore can't be viewed as draft-worthy in fantasy leagues this season.Edwards certainly has the talent to be a factor for fantasy football, but injuries seem to be holding him back. He should have a clear role in this offense as a starter in 2021 and he could breakout if everything goes his way. At his current ADP, he's worth taking a shot on to see if he can emerge in this offense, but it's certainly far from a guarantee. He's most likely someone that you should keep an eye on on the waiver wire versus someone worth spending a draft pick on.
Kevin Wheeler
The Draft Zone
"Rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore was the most impressive player - offense or defense, any age - whenever he was on the field." -Unknown 29% career yards market share. 19.7 breakout age. Round 2 draft capital. @JackMiller02As of mid-June, Edwards is my most rostered player. Alpha WR size, measuring in at over 6' tall and over 210 lbs. As a 20 y/o in college, he had 846 recYds. His college teammate who had 882 recYds that season at age 23 went pick 36 (early rd 2) that year in the NFL Draft. Extremely efficient as a rookie last year, with 1.93 yards per route run. Through the 1st 3 games he had the 2nd most recYds of any WR on my team, but then got injured. Gruden's camp-hype coach-speak, "Edwards has great ability. I'm excited about him. He looks like T.O....one of the #1 wideouts in the league."
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
While scouting Moore this offseason, I came away saying, "that guy is a natural football player." The game seemed to come easy to him, which is the same thing I said about Tee Higgins. They're different players, but some are just born to play this game. So, to hear about Moore tearing up the offseason workouts, it didn't surprise me. What did surprise me was them re-working Jamison Crowder's contract to keep him with the team. His presence is going to be an issue for Moore's ceiling in his rookie year. The hope for Moore is that they'll use him in a Curtis Samuel-type role where they manufacture touches for him to give fantasy managers weekly usability. He's certainly someone to keep an eye on.The Raiders were high on Edwards during last year's draft process, though injuries derailed his progress. Once Nelson Agholor left, it felt like Edwards might be starting in 2WR sets, though they quickly replaced Agholor with the veteran John Brown. Still, Edwards is the only notable receiver on the team who's over six-feet tall and can play that go-to role they seek outside of Darren Waller. We've also heard Derek Carr say that Edwards reminded him of his former teammate in college, Davante Adams, which is never a bad thing.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Edwards battles through a disappointing and injury-plagued rookie season, and he'll need to both stay healthy and show he can be the playmaker the Raiders thought they were drafting in order to make an impact. The Raiders replaced Nelson Agholor with John Brown but Edwards should still see the field plenty. Whether there's room for Edwards considering the presence of Brown, Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow, and Darren Waller, as well as Kenyan Drake likely to take additional work in the passing game, remains to be seen. He's not worth drafting in anything shallower than 15-team formats, and even then, only as a late-round pick.
Wolf of Roto Street
Roto Street Journal
Perhaps a beneficiary of Agholor leaving... but if you cant beat out Agholor in the first place..
