FantasyPros
It's not often we see a rookie wide receiver make an impact in fantasy football the way Ridley did, especially when there's a stud wideout on the other side of the field like Julio Jones. Despite that, Ridley popped-off for 821 yards and 10 touchdowns, finishing as the WR20. While some would expect him to build on that, the Falcons aren't likely to throw the ball as much as they did in 2018 due to their defensive stars being healthy again. He should offer a bit more consistency, though, and if something were to happen to Jones, he'd immediately be a top-15 play every weekDid you know Jeffery finished as the WR20 in his first season with the Eagles and then finished as the WR26 in 2018 despite missing three full games? He's not an exciting pick, but he's proven production when in the lineup. It surely won't hurt that Carson Wentz should be back and healthy, as he posted better numbers with him than with Nick Foles
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Ridley scored 10 touchdowns as a rookie, a remarkable total, and showed elite skills as a receiver. But he was the model of inconsistency, as five of those 10 touchdowns came in a two-game stretch. With another year under his belt, expect an increase in both the 92 targets and 64 receptions he had last year. He's a solid WR2 with upside. When healthy, Jeffrey has been a pretty reliable fantasy wide receiver with the Eagles, and he likely will be again this season. The addition of DeSean Jackson will likely eat a bit into Jeffrey's targets, but defenses will also need to focus more on taking away the deep ball, which should open up room for Jeffrey. His size makes him a target in the red zone always, and nothing should change about that. He lacks much upside, but he's got a fairly high floor as a strong WR3.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Calvin Ridley had an awesome rookie season going 64/821/10, including the one game he absolutely torched the Saints for 146 yards and three TDs. The only problem is that he was an extremely volatile option. He ended within the top 20 overall WRs five times and outside the top 45 eight times. Hooper is expected to take another step up in the offense and Sanu will continue to be a thorn in the side for fantasy production. I just don't see how he makes a big jump, especially when he was so productive in the TD department.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Ridley is the 22nd WR off the board in .5 PPR leagues. Last season, he played in 62% of the falcons plays and had 92 targets. He ended with 10 TDs but was still, at times, playing second fiddle to Mohammed Sanu (The GOAT QB). If Ryan regresses and Ridley's efficiency decreases, Ridley will be a WR4. I'm not comfortable with him as my WR2.It's literally been four years in a row where Jeffrey has ended with between 52-65 receptions and between 789 and 843 yards. His TD's in those years were 4, 2, 9, and 6. He'll have a line around 60/800/6. A solid, if not unspectacular, WR3.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Last season Ridley played just 61% of the Falcons snaps. Most consider him to be the clear-cut #2 in Atlanta, but outside of a few big flashes, Ridley was the #3 option for Matt Ryan behind Sanu. That should change this year, but with Julio hogging the majority of the targets, Ridley's upside is still stunted.Besides the stark gap in ADP, there isn't much of a difference between Alshon and Julian Edelman. Both have missed chunks of time in most season but have performed when on the field. In Alshon's case, it has resulted in three seasons than Edelman has ever produced. There is, of course, injury risk, but he is the epitome of a value pick when you can wait to rounds to add him instead of Edelman.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Calvin Ridley is an extremely interesting pick this season. There doesn't seem to be any buzz around him, even after his great rookie season. He finished with a 64/821/10 stat line in his first season, and while the per reception TD rate is going to regress, there's plenty of room for his volume to increase. Ridley commanded 92 targets last year, while only playing on 62% of Matt Ryan's snaps. We should expect that number to be at least 80% this season, leading to a much larger target market share. As it currently stands, I have Ridley with an extremely reasonable 18.5% target market share, and 10% regression on his TD's per reception. Under those settings he's projected to finish with a 70/881/9.5 stat line...which is the 17th highest projection among WR's. Yet he's being drafted as the WR 26. That's great value! In his first two seasons with the Eagles, Alshon has produced a 16 game season average of 67/900/8.3. That sort of stat line would result in a low end WR 2 for fantasy. We also need to look at the fact that, at least for now, Carson Wentz is healthy. With Wentz as his QB, Alshon has produced 2.5 more targets and 0.25 more TD's per game (as an Eagle of course). My current projection for Alshon is 77/1000/7.4. That's my 18th highest projection among WR's, and means that he's being extremely undervalued as the 30th WR off the board.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Ridley had 64 receptions for 821 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns last year. He is a solid WR3 bet that will likely have less touchdowns in 2019, but more receptions and receiving yards.Jeffery missed 3 games last year and he was up and down all season, finishing with 65 receptions for 843 yards and 6 touchdowns. He is a good WR2 player with WR1 upside.
