FantasyPros
Since entering the NFL in 2018, Calvin Ridley ranks sixth among all WRs in total touchdowns with 26. He's also in the top-15 during that time span for total receiving yards and there's a path for him to ascend even higher on that list by the end of 2021. Julio Jones is no longer on this team and Ridley should see a natural uptick in targets. Ridley's arrow is still pointing up and he is 100% worth drafting at his current ADP of WR5. There's very little downside to adding him to your roster in 2021.How are we feeling about Justin Jefferson heading into 2021, folks?! Wow! Coming off of a truly ridiculous rookie season, the arrow can't be pointing any higher heading into year two. Jefferson put up an absurd 70% Catch Rate on 125 targets with a 15.9 Yards Per Reception total in his rookie season, which is one of the most unbelievable stats from last season. Despite barely being involved in the offense the first two weeks of the season, Jefferson finished as the WR6 and there's very little reason to doubt that he can finish in that range again in 2021. Based on his previous performance, you're absolutely going to have to pay a premium price for Jefferson in fantasy this season if you want him on your roster. However, if you want to build your fantasy roster around the stud wideout, you're not going to get any complaints from this analyst. He's that good. My Very Early Projection: 93-1351-8 receiving.
Mark Ringo
Sleepers and Busts
The comp for Ridley coming out of college was WR Amari Cooper. Ridley's route running is great and he's fast. The only knock is his size is smaller than ideal for a #1 WR. My concerns are Atlanta will look to Kyle Pitts as the top option when they're in the red zone. With an ADP of 24th overall, Ridley's price tag is a little expensive for me.88 receptions 1,400 yards 7 TDs as a rookie! Justin Jefferson is movin' on up, to the East side, of Ringo's deluxe ranking, up high! Moving on up, to the Top 5 (of my WR ranks.), finally got a piece of the (fantasy) pie! That's a reference to the sit com The Jeffersons theme song for you youngsters out there. He's a PPR machine and he's only going to get better. Wesi!

Ridley finished as a WR1 last season with Julio Jones in and out of the lineup. With JJ now in Tennessee, CalRid could set career highs across the board in 2021 after a career-best 90/1,374/9 receiving line in 2020. He's scored 26 times across his first three NFL seasons, showing his nose for the end zone. Ranking him outside the top-5 would be criminal.Only two players in NFL history have gone for at least 2,700 receiving yards in their first two seasons - Odell Beckham (2,755) and Randy Moss (2,726). Jefferson's rookie season was incredible, but can he continue on this ridiculously historic pace? If Jefferson hits his projected receiving yards of nearly 1,400 once again, he'll break that record, but I think that's bullish. Minnesota ranked 27th in pass attempts and eighth in rush attempts in 2020. That Jefferson was able to rack up such a lofty receiving total as a rookie is nothing short of remarkable. Minnesota's defense was dreadful last season, allowing the 27th most yards (fun fact - Minnesota was the only team in the NFL to allow exactly the same number of yards as it put up). The Vikings made improvements on defense, and while Kirk Cousins remained efficient and high-scoring, this team's gameplan will likely center on Dalvin Cook. Jefferson can still be a great fantasy receiver, but expecting him to go for almost 1,400 yards again is not realistic.

Julio's departure further secures more volume / ceiling. Arthur Smith is historically run-heavy, but that's likely a matter of scheming around his best player in TEN (Henry). In ATL, that will be Ridley

Ridley is a stud. We all knew how talented he was, but 2020 showed us what he's capable of in a full healthy season and there's no reason to expect he won't repeat at least those numbers in 2021. That's because Julio is gone, making him the clear WR1 in one of the league's highest-volume passing offenses. In 7 games without Julio, Ridley put together a 50/765/3 statline - that's an average of 18 PPR points over not too small of a sample size, and as scary as it seems, it could've been even better with some touchdown luck. Ridley truly has WR1-overall upside with his elite talent whilst also possessing a very high floor due to his cemented status as the top option on this Atlanta offense. Anywhere in the 2nd round is great value for him.I'm still not entirely convinced on Jefferson yet. The talent here is undeniable but his efficiency last year looks too good to be true... and that's basically because it is. His aDOT (15.9 yards (!!)) and Catch Rate (>70%) were both at levels proven to be unsustainable. While I could see Jefferson eating a bit more into Thielen's target share in Year 2, it's not to the extent that would justify his current price as a top-10 WR. I'm comfortable taking him anywhere in the 4th round as one of the better WR2s in the league, but the reality remains it's not even clear if he's the WR1 on his own team - so I'm not willing to make him the WR1 on mine.

Ridley finished as the No. 4 wide receiver with Julio Jones on the team, and that was while missing one full game. Just how much better can he be with Jones out of town? Some may worry about Ridley becoming "the guy" in the offense and seeing all the top cornerbacks, but we've already witnessed that in the games Jones missed. In the eight games Ridley has played without Jones, he's averaged 11.1 targets, 7.3 receptions, 107.0 yards, and 0.4 touchdowns, adding up to 20.1 PPR points per game. He should be a lock for 140-plus targets in 2021, making him a safe WR1.I'm not sure many realize just how difficult it would be for Jefferson to repeat his 2020 season. Not only was he a rookie, which is amazing in it's own right, but to finish with 1,400 yards on just 125 targets is ridiculous. How did that happen? Well, he caught 70.4 percent of his targets... at 15.9 yards a pop. No other wide receiver in the history of the game has totaled 1,400 yards on 125 or less targets. Bottom line... he needs more targets if he's going to live up to expectations because that's unlikely to happen again. With the defense getting back on track with Danielle Hunter (and adding in free agency), do the Vikings trend back to their run-heavy ways? Adam Thielen is a year older, but the chemistry between him and Kirk Cousins is magical. The sky is the limit for Jefferson with his talent, but will the targets follow? Don't forget this is the same team that held Stefon Diggs to 112 or less targets in 4-of-5 seasons.

Finished 4th at WR in FAN PTS on 9.5 targets per game. Only 4 WRs saw 10+ targets per game in 2020, but Ridley should join that club this seasonOnly Adams, Diggs and Hill were better than him in FAN PPG in final 8 games of 2020 - it's not crazy to think a WR of his age, talent and situation can actually be better in Year 2

Ridley had 143 targets, 90 receptions, 1,374 yards, and 9 touchdowns. Ridley should be one of the most targeted wide receivers in the NFL with Julio Jones no longer on the roster.Jefferson was incredible in his rookie season with 125 targets, 88 receptions, 1,400 yards and 7 touchdowns. He should be an absolute star in his second year and a solid WR1 option.

In games where Calvin Ridley has suited up without Julio Jones, he has averaged 11+ targets, 100+ yards and 20+ PPR points per game. Now going into his first full season without Jones, no one around him has ever sniffed 1000 yards in a season and he will be in a lot of come from behind situations. It may not be the prettiest production, but Calvin Ridley is going to be a beast for your fantasy team this season as "2021's Garbage Time King."In his first NFL season after dominating college football in 2019, Justin Jefferson hauled in 88 catches for 7 TDs and an all-time rookie record 1400 receiving yards. This was good for a WR6 overall finish in half-PPR scoring, ahead of guys like DK Metcalf, Mike Evans, Allen Robinson, etc. Jefferson was also the first rookie WR named an All-Pro since Randy Moss in 1998, he was only the third WR ever to make the pro bowl at 21 years old (Moss in '98 and Amari Cooper in '15), he finished tied for first in the NFL with 23 receptions over 20-yards, and he is now second all time in yards per game for a rookie (87.5), only behind Odell Beckham Jr. (108.8). For the 2nd season in a row, QB Kirk Cousins finished in the top-7 in True Throw Value. True Throw Value strips outside factors and minimizes randomness by looking at a QB's full volume and production to find their efficiency on a micro-level. In 2020, Kirk Cousins finished second overall behind only Aaron Rodgers. Despite his elite efficiency, Cousins attempted a pass only 516 times in 2020, good for 15th in the NFL. Jefferson, who was the target on 125 of those pass attempts, was only 16th in the NFL in targets. To put that into perspective, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen each recorded 149+ targets in 2018, their last season fully-healthy season together. Under Gary Kubiak last season, the Vikings were a run-first team, passing the ball on just 53% of snaps, limiting the opportunity for Jefferson and teammate Adam Thielen, who both finished as WR1's regardless. Now with Klint Kubiak, 33, taking over as OC, new opportunities could be on the horizon. In addition to working under his dad, Klint Kubiak has worked with Kliff Kingsbury and Kevin Stefanski, two young coaches who have had offensive success in their young careers. Klint Kubiak also has a very close relationship with Kirk Cousins, as he has spent the last 2 seasons as the Vikings QB Coach. "If we don't evolve, then we'll be left in the dust," Kubiak told Vikings.com. "That's every team in the NFL, always trying to find ways to evolve your scheme and trying to make yourself less predictable."
