FantasyPros
It was a knee injury that looked like it could be a career-ender, but Meredith latched on with the Saints this offseason and will now be catching passes from Drew Brees. Shortly after snagging him, the Saints cut ties with Willie Snead, opening up the slot role that Meredith played so well while with the Bears. Meredith's sample size is relatively small, but when you rack up 888 yards and four touchdowns from Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley, there's plenty of optimism. The issue is that Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, Ted Ginn, and maybe even Ben Watson are ahead of him in the pecking order. He's likely to have some big weeks, but I wouldn't expect a weekly contributor. So, Bryant went from competing with Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster for targets, to now competing with Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson for targets. I don't think this will end well, considering the quality of the targets will also go down. The positive is that Derek Carr has plenty of arm strength to get the ball downfield to Bryant, but Cooper and Nelson should dominate the work underneath, making him a very boom-or-bust fantasy option. He's apparently been running with the second-team offense and struggling to grasp the playbook, making him undraftable in most leagues.

"I bet you forgot about me huh?", Meredith remarks snidely with arms crossed and head tilted. Signing with the Saints in the offseason following a season ending ACL tear, Meredith figures to be the primary slot receiver for a perennially potent Saints offense. Assuming he recovers fully, which all by all accounts he should, and rookie Tre'Quan Smith doesn't suddenly shift from a downfield receiver to a slot receiver, Meredith should be in store for steady receptions and yards, possibly as a solid WR3. I like his upside at WR53.Here's where we enter lotto ticket territory folks. You have an INSANELY gifted receiver in Martavis Bryant entering the season on a team that traded a 3rd round pick for him and has only Jordy Nelson to challenge him for the role of outside receiver. He could just as easily flop and end up a huge bust as he could capitalize on that role in the Raiders' offense, while getting hopefully improved play from Derek Carr, and become a top 20 stud. I'm more inclined to believe it will be something in the middle bordering top 30 production with on and off weeks, but this is a gamble I certainly would not mind taking.
Andrew Gould
FantasyPros
Recovering from an ACL and partial MCL tear that cost him all of 2017, Meredith hopes to be ready to open the season. Now that he left the Bears to join Drew Brees in the Big Easy, drafters can't forget about someone who averaged 63.4 YPG in 2016. He's pegged to supplant Ted Ginn Jr. as the second WR on an elite offense, so early drafters should bet on a healthy return if he falls to the late rounds. Those drafting closer to September will have a better read on his outlook.Following a messy divorce with the Steelers, Bryant possesses more big-play upside than the typical late-round WR gamble. Rumors surfaced of a possible suspension, but nothing has happened yet. He's also Oakland's third option behind Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson, so he's not guaranteed a higher target share.
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Meredith looks like he'll be ready to go for training camp, and as long as that pans out, I think he could push for targets, which with Drew Brees is a good thing.Bryant could have fantasy value if Jordy Nelson's decline is precipitous. Bryant is still more of a deep-play receiver, which makes it tough to get consistency from him, but he'll be a starter as long as he's not suspended.
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
"Expect Meredith in old "Colston Role" at slot WR between Michael Thomas & Ted Ginn." @EvanSilva He appears to be healthy,he has avoided the PUP list and is in camp the first day. Baring set-backs he could be the sleeper of the draft right now (7/26). Where there is smoke there's fire, I'm expecting a full year suspension.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Although Meredith is far from a sure thing, the word is that he is recovering well from surgery and should be good to go this season. Now that he is on Drew Brees' team, big things could be in store if he gets a chance at the starting wide receiver two job. Consider him to be a late-end lottery ticket. We've seen Bryant as a fringe WR2 while sharing targets with two of the best players in football. Now that he is in Oakland with just Amari Cooper and an old Jordy Nelson, his ceiling takes another step forward. First, however, he will have to get on the field and stay clean.
Raju Byfield

Meredith should easily pass Ginn in targets if he proves to be healthyBryant has the potential to lead the Raiders receivers in yardage and touchdowns
