FantasyPros
Despite them drafting two running backs, Montgomery likely isn't going anywhere. He offers something in the passing game both Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones don't, wide receiver skills. His 5.1 yards after contact was the best in the NFL last year, though the sample size was small. He is apparently dealing with a soft tissue injury, which is not ideal when you're fighting off three up-and-coming rookies who have been playing the position for a long time. Those types of injuries can also linger throughout the season, making Montgomery a risky pick at his current ADP. Despite catching passes from the same quarterbacks and seeing essentially the same number of targets, Meredith finished with 67 more yards and two more touchdowns than Alshon Jeffery last year. He suffered a broken thumb during OTA's which could derail his ascension up the depth chart, as he's out until training camp. There is plenty of risk considering the Bears signing Victor Cruz, Kendall Wright, and Marcus Wheaton, but we also know that there's plenty of upside.

5th Down Fantasy
HC McCarthy: "He's a running back;" 5.9 YPC in 2016; led NFL in yards after contact per touch (2.8); GB letting Lacy go a good sign. By far the top guy in Chicago, though offense is not much to get excited about.
Brandon Funston
Fantasy Analyst
He was an advanced metric darling in his trial run as a RB in '16, and he really only needs to prove he can pass protect this preseason to open '17 as the unquestioned backfield leader in GB

Montgomery has plenty of ability and should at the very least compete for No. 1 running back touches in a great offense. The Packers did add competition, but Montgomery has the upper hand, and unless news turns sour for his shot as the lead back, I'll be targeting him.Meredith will take over as the main receiver in Chicago, which at the very least means he should be in line for a big contingency of targets.

QB List
As anyone who has owned former Packers RB Eddie Lacy can attest, the Packers can be maddening in their backfield misuse. Still, they are a top-shelf offense, and the lead back job appears to be Montgomery's to lose. As a converted wide receiver, he offers reception upside that Lacy never really had. There is top-6 upside if Montgomery can get enough touches. If there's one thing you can say about Cameron Meredith, it's this: he's a number one option in an NFL passing offense. Unfortunately, that passing offense is the Chicago Bears, but he should be their top option and should be in for a decent amount of targets. Unfortunately he'll be competing with Victor Cruz, Kendall Wright, and Marcus Wheaton, but there's plenty of upside with Meredith.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Last season, Montgomery only had one game with double-digit carries and it has to concern fantasy owners that the Packers went out and drafted three running backs this spring. Montgomery, however, apparently added plenty of muscle and improved his pass blocking this off-season which could make him a steal should he be able to hold off Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones for the starting role. The Bears should end up passing a fair amount and Glennon is better than he is getting credit for, but Meredith is clearly the second most talented wideout for the Bears and while he is generally regarded as the WR1, that will change in short time.
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
Comparisons are anywhere from David Johnson to complete bust. Last years production should be considered a floor (12.9 ppr ppg)"Smooth is probably the best word to describe him." - I think Glennon has a little crush on Cameron Meredith. As a UDFA from a small school Meredith wasn't on anyone's radar at this time last year. He wasn't even active for the first two weeks of the season. Meredith finished last year with 66 receptions for 888 yards, in the 12 games he started he finished in the top-12 receivers 5 times (PPR scoring). His burst, agility, and catch radius scores are absolutely through the roof compared to others. His current ADP is in the ninth round so strike while the price is low. Meredith is one of our possible "league winners" this year so stay tuned for more .
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Montgomery has a chance to win the starting job and he would be an interesting flex option with RB2 upside in PPR leagues. He will likely be in a RBBC with rookie RB Jamaal Williams, who is pushing him for the starting job early in camp.

Montgomery looks like a RB and really just needs to figure out pass protection. Role is still a question mark but the talent is there to make him a draft day steal.
Corey Parson
RotoExperts
Montgomery will start the season as the feature back in Green Bay and produce RB2 numbers. A timeshare with rookie back Jamaal Williams could develop later in the season. Auction value $18 Meredith will be the top receiver in the Bears' offense. An 80-plus reception season is very possible. Auction Value $ 14
