FantasyPros
There are a lot of reasons to like Carson. Looking at how he finished the season, it's hard to not like him. From Week 12 on, he finished as the No. 4 fantasy running back behind only Christian McCaffrey, Derrick Henry, and Saquon Barkley. While Rashaad Penny is still there (and a former first-round pick), Mike Davis exited town, leaving behind plenty of touches for Penny. While Carson may not have the upside of others who are used in the pass-game consistently, he should be a solid RB2 provided he's healthy. This, of course, is a concern after hearing Carson "had a little work done" on his knee this offseason, so stay tuned for updatesIt was good to see Cooper go to Dallas and get consistent targets as that's something he was missing throughout his time in Oakland. He saw at least five targets in each of his nine games with the Cowboys, while seeing seven or more targets in 7-of-9 games. Because of that, he finished as the No. 4 wide receiver in fantasy from the time he joined them, behind only Antonio Brown, Davante Adams, and Julio Jones. He may not offer the consistency that those guys do, but not many do. Cooper should be on the low-end WR1 radar
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
R. Penny apologists need to understand that Carson is exactly the kind of between the tackles, chain-moving workhorse that SEA wants to hitch its wagon to - and now it wants to use him more in the passing game tooYou have to like what you saw from him in DAL - in 11 games, counting 2 playoff contests, he caught 66 passes for 896 yards and 7 TDs - dealing with heel strain, but apparently it's something he's managed to play through in the past
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
It sounds like Carson is far and away the top guy in Seattle. He lacks flash, but he was the 15th best fantasy back in 2018. We can't ignore that.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Carson wasn't even expected to be the starting running back last year, let alone be a reliable weekly running back option in fantasy like he was. But after 1,151 yards and nine touchdowns, he came into camp this year as the clear starter. That role has only been solidified, with Rashaad Penny reportecly falling further behind Carson in the Seahawks' eyes according to beat writers. With Mike Davis gone, Carson's role could grow even more. If he can get more involved in the passing game, he could have RB1 upside, but draft him as a reliable RB2 for now.Cooper was dynamic after a mid-season trade to the Cowboys and, absent injury concerns, he'd be a solid WR1 this year. But he has battled a foot injury all preseason, which has alternatively been referred to as plantar fasciitis, a strained heel, and a muscle strain. Whatever the injury is, it's clearly still bothering Cooper, and it's unclear if his availability for the Cowboys' first game is questionable. For now, fantasy owners should drop Cooper a few spots in their rankings. But don't let him slip too far absent word that his availability for the regular season is in doubt.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Carson is the ultimate boom or bust running back this season. Seattle may very well lead the league in carries again this season and Carson is about as efficient as they come. The concern, however, is that his knee will cause Carson to miss a few games or that Penny will play so well that he cuts into the workload. These are enough to keep him outside RB1 territory but barely.Cooper has put up some historical numbers to start his career despite playing in an awful offense that refused to throw him the ball. It was no wonder he exploded with a new offense and better quarterback despite learning the playbook on the fly. The ceiling is enormous in his first full season with Dallas but there is also quite a bit of unknown too, particularly his plantar fasciitis.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
SEA RBs scored 352 FP (Std), 385 (half-PPR), 418 (PPR) last year. If Carson sees 67% = 236 (RB6 last year), 258 (RB6), 280 (RB6) If he sees 60% = 211 (RB8), 231 (RB9), 251 (RB9) 55% = 194 (RB11), 212 (RB12), 230 (RB12) Last year he scored 53%, 51% and 49% respectively. @4for4_John In 2018, the Seahawks had the highest run ratio with 55.6%. It was the highest in the #NFL since 2012 when the Seahawks led the league with 56.96%. Surprisingly enough though, Chris Carson didn't have a top five game in 0.5 formats will Week 16. @TheFFRealistIn 2017, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). In 2018, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). @ScottBarrettDFB Cooper has been dealing with plantar fascia irritation which has caused him to miss practice and the Cowboys last two preseason games. This is something that could linger and affect practice time but should not affect meaningful games. There are ways to get players thru game day. @ProFootballDoc
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
The big concern for Carson is going to be 2018 first round pick Rashaad Penny's role in the offense. The Seattle offense runs the ball enough to support two running backs, but Carson is hardly a guarantee to keep the bell cow role for the entire 2019 season.Cooper was a great addition to the Cowboys passing offense, but he is a little hit or miss in their run-heavy scheme. He is a low-end WR1 that should see a ton of targets in the passing game.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Only six RBs had more rushes than Carson last season - behind Zeke, Barkley, DJ, Gurley, AP, and Jordan Howard (Very unlikely a lot of those guys make that list this year). In Seattle, Carson only received 55% of the team's carries. In comparison, Penny and Davis saw 19% and 26% last year. With Davis gone and not a real third option, why are we assuming Penny is going to take all of Davis' work? Or that He'll take Carson's job? If this becomes a 60-65/35-40 split, Carson will see MORE work than he saw last year. He's a steal at his ADP.Amari Cooper's career high in TD's is 7. He's passed 1100 yards once. He's passed 75 catches once. He played 9 games for Dallas and put up FOUR games in which his stat line was less than or equal to 5/36/0. And you want to take him in the third round?
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Yes, Coop was a stud with Prescott looking at the surface numbers, but look close and see that it was regular ol' Coop. In 9 games with the Cowboys, Cooper put up single digits 4 times, under 15 7 times, and two monster games where he put up around 35 and 45. The inconsistencies continued.

Fantasy Football Advice
Chris Carson put together an excellent second season last year, posting a 247/1151/9 stat line and finishing as the RB 15 in half ppr scoring. Had he played a full 16 weeks then he likely would have finished as a RB 1. This season I do expect him to get less carries. The Seahawks used a first round pick on Penny, and they're going to use him. He was better than people think last season, and teams love to be right with their early round picks. That by no means makes Carson a bad pick. The Seattle is going to run the ball a ton, so he can still pay off his ADP even if Penny gets a lot of work. I just prefer waiting and grabbing Penny later in drafts if I'm targeting this backfield.I love Amari Cooper this season. He's finally out of Oakland, and in a place where he can see consistent volume. Dak Prescott is by no means an elite QB, but he's a big upgrade from Derek Carr. In the 9 games after being traded last season Cooper averaged 6/80/0.67. He was used in all areas of the field, and he showed his weekly upside with 2 games over 180 yards and 2 scores. He did all of this after being traded in the middle of the season. Receivers usually struggle when they change teams during an offseason, so the fact that he was able to produce right away is incredible. After a full Summer to train with the team, I expect Cooper to have some monster games this season. I'd be very excited to get Cooper in the third round. That's the point in the draft where you should have locked up two stud skill position players already. So capturing the weekly upside of Cooper on top of that is a no brainer.
