Lineups
Chris Godwin took the third-year breakout to another level last season as he finished with career-highs - by far- across the board. He had 86 receptions for 1,333 yards and 9 touchdowns in 14 games. Now, he will benefit from a huge upgrade at quarterback as Tom Brady takes over for Jameis Winston. The Bucs may not need to air the ball out as much this season, but Brady's offenses always pass more than they run. Godwin is going to get a ton of carries out of the slot, a position he dominated last season. The efficiency boost Brady will give the offense will compensate for the lower passing volume and air yards. The Colts' wide receiver burned some people last season as he missed six games and struggled to produce with Jacoby Brissett when he was on the field. However, it wasn't that long ago that Hilton caught 76 balls for 1,270 yards and 6 touchdowns in his last season with Andrew Luck. Hilton would have been a top-12 receiver last season if he had produced the same stat line as in 2018. The Colts' offense should look very different in 2020 and Hilton will be the primary beneficiary of the chemistry Rivers and head coach Frank Reich have previously developed.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Godwin had a legitimate chance to eclipse 100 receptions, 1,500 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2019 had he not suffered a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the season's final two games. (Breshad Perriman ended up catching 12 passes for 236 yards and a score in Godwin's absence.) He should remain productive with Tom Brady replacing Jamies Winston as Tampa's quarterback. After a feast-or-famine 2017 during which Hilton had three games with more than 150 receiving yards and eight with 30 or fewer, he rebounded with a productive season in '18 with Andrew Luck back under center. The expectation is that his production will bounce back from last season's underwhelming output now that Philip Rivers has arrived as the Colts' new quarterback.
Elisha Twerski
numberFire
Godwin was a model of consistency in 2019. In half-PPR formats, he had just three outings with fewer than double-digit fantasy points, compared to five games with more than 20. He had only two efforts where he failed to record at least 69 total yards or a score. While Tom Brady is nowhere near as aggressive at this stage as Jameis Winston was last year, Godwin could benefit from a larger market share. Since 2007, when Brady's slot guy was either Julian Edelman or Wes Welker, neither received a target share below 24.1%. Godwin's target share in 2019 was below 20%.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
NextGenStats tracks each player's usage and routes throughout every game, and I wish I could remember who posted it, but Godwin's routes were essentially the same exact ones that Bruce Arians used for Larry Fitzgerald back in Arizona. That's a very good thing. I want to do an exercise with you. Close your eyes and imagine Tom Brady dropping back to pass. What do you see? Do you see him muscling a pass towards the sideline? I didn't think so. I also saw him targeting a receiver over the middle of the field. Godwin played 63.4 percent of his snaps last year in the slot. He was second in the league in slot yards (838) behind only Cooper Kupp, and despite seeing 31 fewer slot targets than Kupp, he only finished with 15 fewer yards and the same number of touchdowns. Godwin's average depth of target was 10.4 yards last year while Mike Evans' was 15.3 yards. The average depth of target for Brady last year was 7.6 yards down the field. It's clear that Godwin should quickly become a favorite of Brady, who hates to take risks, as Godwin is a better separator than Evans. Believe it or not, there's a clear path for Godwin to finish as the WR1 in 2020. I don't say that about many receivers. He's in the tier immediately after Michael Thomas, Davante Adams, and Julio Jones. As a soon-to-be 31-year-old coming off an injury-plagued season and playing with a new quarterback, it's not a good look to show up to camp with a non-football hamstring injury. There will be no preseason game action for him to build any chemistry with his new quarterback, so training camp was important. Hilton has never been a touchdown guy, as his career high is capped out at seven touchdowns. So, he's reliant upon targets more than someone like D.K. Metcalf, who can score 10 touchdowns. Not only do we have to worry about Hilton's health and age, but we also have to worry about his quarterback's. Philip Rivers was not good last year and hasn't traditionally thrown to guys like Hilton who are undersized and play on the perimeter. With so many variables and lack of true upside, I'm okay fading Hilton, especially at his current cost. If you're able to land him as a backend WR3, I'm okay with the risk/reward, as there aren't too many safe options in that range.

One of the best surprises last season, hoping Godwin can continue his consistency for 2020 in a Bucs offense pushing for a Super Bowl

The perfect skillset for Tom Brady. Should see decreased target volume but increased efficiency from the GOATOffense runs through him, health is the only risk. Stable WR3 with WR1 weekly potential

Packer Report
Everyone's favorite 2019 breakout, Chris Godwin is now a consensus top-10 WR and for good reason. He showed last year that he is supremely talented and that was with Jameis Winston at QB. Now that he has Tom Brady throwing him the ball the sky's the limit for Godwin in 2020. His only concern will be building a connection with Brady without any preseason snaps.Hilton, along with the entire Colts offense, will be one of the most interesting storylines to watch as the season progresses. With Philip Rivers now at QB, Hilton could have his best season since Andrew Luck's prime. That being said, Rivers is another year older and if he doesn't have the arm to get Hilton the ball, it could be problematic. I like Hilton's upside but his floor is frighteningly low.

FantasyPros
With Andrew Luck as his quarterback, Hilton has averaged nearly 80 yards per game and topped 100 yards receiving 34% of the time. Without Luck, Hilton has averaged just over 58 yards per game, and topped 100 yards receiving just 14% of the time. Philip Rivers is an upgrade over Jacoby Brissett, so Hilton's numbers should look closer to the ones he put up with Luck, rather than those without him. But given Rivers' decline last season, it's still better to think of Hilton as only a borderline WR2 at best.

PFF's 2nd-highest graded WR in 2019, but the Winston circus sideshow has left town - Brady, Gronk and winning could be elements that lead to more conservative play

Hilton was 34th in PPG last season and his TTV (Brotofantasy.com) was 36th, so he did what was expected and slightly more. Rivers is a QB upgrade, Hilton should probably see a few more targets, and he's received praise from the coaching staff. Hilton isn't washed yet.

If Julian Edelman can average over 150 targets and be a WR1 with Tom Brady, imagine what Chris Godwin, the taller, faster, more athletic, younger WR can do. Do not overthink it.

Godwin had a breakout season with 1,333 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2019. If he stays healthy, the sky is the limit for the 24-year old wide receiver, although QB Tom Brady does provide some question marks given his age and lack of arm strength in New England at the end of last season.Hilton's age 30 season was not kind to him, he missed QB Andrew Lucks' arm and he had only 501 yards from scrimmage and 5 touchdowns in 10 games in 2019. If he can stay healthy, he has some upside playing with QB Philip Rivers, but he is a boom / bust WR3 given his health concerns.

Godwin was the steal of the draft last season and was one of the key components to many people winning fantasy championships. With Tom Brady behind center now, Godwin shouldn't see any drop-off in targets at all and should become Brady's favorite target very quickly. Godwin has top-5 potential again this season and is one of the safer picks in the entire draft this year.Hilton's an incredibly risky pick at his ADP right now. He needs to stay healthy this season to return that value and he now has Michael Pittman to take away targets. Rivers could lock onto Pittman, which is the type of receiver he's been known to target heavily in the past, which would leave a smaller target percentage for Hilton. He has the talent, but a lot has to go Hilton's way this season for him to be a true force for fantasy football. In my opinion, Hilton's nothing more than a low-end WR3.

The Fantasy First Down
After an incredible start to the 2019 season, Chris Godwin had only two 100 yard games and three TDs from Week 7 onwards. That's not ideal for an elite fantasy receiver but he remained a solid weekly fantasy option. Despite his WR2 finish last year, the hype surrounding Godwin has little to do with last season and everything to do with the arrival of TB12. Brady could very well be a massive boost for Godwin as he loves those safe mid-range targets but the addition of Rob Gronkowski will have an effect on that too and is reason for caution. Ultimately, Godwin is a solid second round pickup who lacks true league-winning upside without an Evans injury. After a super 2018 season where he returned to top form, T.Y. Hilton had an awful 2019. The retirement of Andrew Luck was followed by a number of frustrating injuries which made consistent production impossible. Now 30 and carrying a number of soft-tissue injuries into the season, it's hard to see Hilton remaining fit and explosive again. He's also joined by impressive youngsters Parris Campbell and Michael Pittman while the team is clearly becoming more run-heavy. The good news is that Philip Rivers is a big QB upgrade and Hilton has a huge ceiling, especially in non-PPR. He's a boom/bust 5th-round pick who could be worth a pick-up if you have the top-end strength to cover for his many bad weeks and injuries.

I don't really know what to do with this but Godwin only had 1 less catchable deep ball than Evans last year with 300/2 coming off the deep ball vs Mike Evans 407/3. I think this might show the reliance on the deep ball for Evan's is overblown, while being just as big of a hit for Godwin.A WR room with everything you could want. Hilton going deep, Campbell the YAC machine, and the big, reliable Pittman. While Hilton should lead the trio, he was also be battling his own ability to stay on the field. Maybe it's assuming too much, but IND just came off a season with the 3rd fewest passing yards in the league, with 3108. Phil has thrown fewer than 4000 only 3 times in his 14 years as a starter, he was over 4000 3 times with fewer attempts than what IND attempted last year because IND efficiency as so bad. We don't have to see the team transform into a passing team to see better production from all the WRs. I'm grabbing Campbell late everywhere I can.

Last season Chris Godwin finished as the WR2 in PPR leagues. He did that while being 17th amongst WRs with 121 targets. @DaltonGuruFF

Brady LOVES his slot weapons, so Godwin seems to stay steadier in fantasy value than Evans.
