Lineups
Few players elicit the oohs and aahs in a draft room when their name gets called quite like CEH. He's arguably the sexiest pick in fantasy drafts right now as the de facto workhorse in an Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes offense. After Damien Williams opted out of the season, the Chiefs have not looked to add any proven veteran talent. It's clear this is Clyde's role to lose and with his talent in this opportunity, he's going to be a fantasy superstar. The fantasy football community seems to be divided on Kenyan Drake, and I'm not sure why. The talent was never the issue in Miami - it was always the situation. In 8 games with the Cardinals last season, Drake was on pace for over 1,500 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns. The touchdowns aren't sustainable, but he'll have a whole offseason to work with Kyler and get more comfortable as a key piece in Kliff Kingsbury's offense. The team invested in Drake for the long haul and I expect him to reward them with a highly productive season.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
CEH has insane upside in Kansas City's system, but the infatuation is a little out of control. I'll drop him slightly in my rankings, as I much prefer to land him in round two than round one.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Edwards-Helaire was probably set to be overvalued in fantasy drafts, but now that Damien Williams has opted out, he immediately vaults into reliable RB1 territory. The Chiefs spent their first-round pick on Edwards-Helaire and, regardless, pretty much any replacement value running back can find fantasy gold in Kansas City's system. There are still other running backs on the roster who will garner touches, including Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson, and because the Chiefs' offense is so dynamic, there is no reason for them to run their rookie back into the ground. Still, without Damien Williams, Edwards-Helaire should get the majority of the touches in the backfield, and that puts him in firm RB1 territory, full stop.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Edwards-Helaire runs with the kind of balance that allows him to bounce off tacklers, and he has the twitch and quickness to pick up a chunk of yardage after he's broken a tackle. He should be able to excel as a rookie in Kansas City's high-powered offense.Drake has a multi-purpose skill set and the ability to hit home runs as a one-cut runner. He averaged more than 80 rushing yards per game and 5.2 yards per carry while scoring eight rushing touchdowns over his eight games with Arizona last season.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
I absolutely love Clyde Edwards-Helaire as a talent. He was sensational for LSU last year and just quietly, amazing for my college fantasy team. I was very low on him at his price until the Damien Williams hold out. He now jumps into the first round discussions for me as I don't believe Darwin Thompson and DeAndre Washington have enough to keep him off the field for more than a rest. It is very possible the Chiefs bring in a veteran and that stops me from ranking him among the elite, but he is certainly in that second tier of guys and has massive upside. The Cardinals offense is incredible for running backs, with David Johnson, Chase Edmonds and Kenyan Drake all having explosive moments in 2019. With DJ gone and Chase the clear backup, it's Drake's job in 2020 so that should mean a clear-cut RB1 right? Well, maybe. Drake played five games with the Cards. He was incredible against mediocre Browns and Seahawks defense he gifted him 6 TDs but struggled in the other games, maxing out at 15 touches in each. With DeAndre Hopkins now in town, this offense seems to be transitioning towards something more pass-heavy, which is normal for a second-year coach and a sophomore QB. I like Drake, but only enough to take him in the mid-late second rounds and maybe a touch earlier in PPR.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
I had Edwards-Helaire as my top running back in this year's class due to the way he fits the NFL today. He's a true three-down back who can catch 80-plus passes out of the backfield, while running for 1,000-plus yards. Landing with the Chiefs was a dream scenario, especially in the first round. Over the last seven years, running backs who've been drafted in the first round have averaged 280.7 touches in year one. 75 percent of them have finished as an RB2 or better. Don't think this is Darwin Thompson all over again, as he was a sixth-round pick last year, and those average just 29.8 touches in year one. This is Edwards-Helaire's backfield after Andy Reid said he's better than Brian Westbrook on film. You don't take those players off the field very often. He's worth a second-round pick and would be a steal in the third round. It's crazy to see Kenyan Drake not getting the respect he deserved when he performed the way he did under Kliff Kingsbury last year. Since coming over in Week 9, he was the No. 4 running back through the remainder of the fantasy season, and the Cardinals liked him enough to move on from David Johnson and not draft a running back until the seventh round.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
I was excited about Edwards-Helaire before Williams opted out, now, I'm all in. He's about to enter the best offense in football which will give him scoring opportunities on a weekly basis. Dating back to 1999, there have been five RB's coached by Andy Reid who finished inside the top-10 in their first year with him. Could Edwards-Helaire make it six? I think so.Whether it was David Johnson, Chase Edmonds, or Kenyan Drake, the Arizona backfield was highly productive during the 2019 season. With Johnson now in Houston, Drake will take full control and is in prime position to finally fulfill his potential we've talked about for years.
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Above average rusher, dynamite pass catcher. The Chiefs made an investment that raised eyebrows, but Damien Williams opting out should make your heart skip a beat. Darkhorse candidate to finish as a top 2 RB.Drake could take the leap into elite territory in 2020. Volume should be there, Kingsbury is smart. Top target in his ADP range.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
The Twitter anointed, chosen one, the almighty, the hall of fame back who hasn't played a down yet. Is this guy going to deliver? Most certainly, but don't expect Barry Sanders 2.0Coach Kliff stated he wants more Drake (RB) in the offense. I want less Drake (Studio Gangster) in my ears...
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
With Damien Williams opting out, CEH finds himself as THE guy in an Andy Reid system with Pat Mahomes at QB. *Insert drooling dog pic here* CEH is well worth the gamble in the back end of the first round. Huge upside.
Justin Dodds

CEH is the bellcow RB for an offense that has very strong potential to lead the league in scoring. In the 29 games Mahomes has started, the RBs in those games have scored 39 touchdowns which is about 1.35 TDs per game. If CEH gets just HALF of that TD volume, that's still ~11 TDs in 16 games, which would've put him 7th in TDs last year. Remember, when Kareem Hunt was the bellcow in 2018, he was the RB6 in half-ppr FP/g and the RB8 in ppr FP/g. The upside is too large to put him below guys like Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Jacobs, and Chubb.

Top draft pick by the Chiefs. Very good receiver for a RB who should fit perfectly into the Chiefs system. Andy Reid has had an RB1 in over 75% of his coaching seasons.Balled out with AZ at the end of last year and finished top 5 during that span. AZ is an offense that benefits the RB. Only question with Drake is will he get the true workhorse role there? Lots of downside at his ADP.

With D. Williams opting out, CEH's workload concerns fade considerably, but he's more likely to be great because of Ekeler-like efficiency than substantial volumeEnticing if he can finally put a full season of bell-cow work in the books as ARI RBs ranked 3rd in FAN PTS per Touch in 2019, with Drake contributing elite stretch-run numbers

107 RB targets spread out to the Chiefs RB position last year. Due to injury, and coaching decisions, no RB played more than 35% of the snaps. If CEH can consolidate the targets and take charge on the backfield(like they seemingly drafted him to do), he might just be awesome. If you thought he might've been a product of the LSU offense, feel free to rely on that excuse in KC as well, should work just fine. Updated thoughts: DAMIEN WILLIAMS, the man who struggled to take over LeSean McCoy, still averaged a 63.5% snap share in 13 games(missed majority of week 11 with injury), still averaged 15.13 fantasy points in those 13 games, a pace of RB7. But now some are worried that the man drafted in the first round doesn't have the ability, or is too risky to be taken as an RB1? Dam paced for it and he couldn't even beat out McCoy while doing so, and now neither are on the team.ARZ threw to the RB 103 times last year. Assuming Edmonds gets his 20 or so like 2019, That should provide a safe floor for Drake in 2020. ARZ Kenyan Drake was a different beast: ARZ: 18.9 touches per game, 15.9PPG, 8 TDs MIA: 11.5 touches per game, 7.6PPG, 0 TDs Normally, I might be concerned about the limited sample, but the only person he didn't come in and immediately replace last year was of course not on the roster last year, 7th round pick, Eno Benjamin. His contract is interesting after 2020, in that there isn't one, so enjoy the ride

With the news that Damien Williams has opted out for the 2020 NFL season, CEH immediately shoots up into the top-10 at the RB position. While he's not going to be a "workhorse" back and see 250 carries, he's going to be heavily involved in the receiving game. I'm projecting him to have a similar workload to what Alvin Kamara has seen over the past few seasons and we know how that can translate to top-tier fantasy production in a dynamic offense. CEH can be drafted confidently in the same tier as Joe Mixon, Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake, and Josh Jacobs.Drake should put up insane numbers this season in this offense. There are a lot of great options in the top-10 RBs right now, but Drake truly has the potential to explode this season. A top-5 finish is not out of the question.

Now that Damien Williams has opted to sit out the 2020 season, Edwards-Helaire should be the unquestioned lead running back on one of the best offenses in the NFL. He is a RB1 with upside.Drake was a star for the Cardinals in 2019. In just 8 games, he had 814 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns. The Cardinals have signed him to a one-year deal and he should be the featured back with RB David Johnson gone. Drake is a RB1 with huge upside.

Kenyan Drake finished as the #4 RB last season after being shipped over to Arizona. The only thing that has changed in that Arizona offense since then is that they added DEANDRE HOPKINS to clear out the box for Drake and the only RB addition was 7th round RB Eno Benjamin. Let's not forget that Drake is also playing on a prove-it deal for Arizona. All signs are pointing up.

The Kansas City Chiefs have averaged the following over the last 3 seasons: 282 rush attempts, 99 RB receptions, 4.43 rush yards per attempt, 7.4 RB yards per reception, 11.6 rushing touchdowns, 8.3 RB receiving tds Let's say, CEH only gets 60% of workload, going only on averages, he would finish with: 169 rush attempts, 60 receptions, 7 rush td, 5 rec td, 750 rush yards, 440 receiving yards He would finish with 251 PPR points. This would have had him ranked 9th last season ahead of Alvin Kamara, Saquon Barkley, Joe Mixon, Mark Ingram, and others. @BlakeAHamptonKenyan Drake is 26 years old, but only 456 career carries with a 4.8 YPC average. He was the RB3 weeks 9-16 with 20.3 ppr ppg.

Could not have scripted a more perfect landing spot. Immediate Top-3 upside given the Talent + Fit + Usage + Surrounding Offense. Helaire is going to eat.Was the RB3 in Fantasy with the Cardinals, and now returns there with no David Johnson lingering. Offense even more explosive with Hopkins added... could rack up 15+ TDs, 1600+ total yards, and 60+ rec.
