Lineups
Few players elicit the oohs and aahs in a draft room when their name gets called quite like CEH. He's arguably the sexiest pick in fantasy drafts right now as the de facto workhorse in an Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes offense. After Damien Williams opted out of the season, the Chiefs have not looked to add any proven veteran talent. It's clear this is Clyde's role to lose and with his talent in this opportunity, he's going to be a fantasy superstar.Doug Pederson has never run his backfield with a clear-cut workhorse, but he's also never had a running back as talented as Miles Sanders. In his rookie season, Sanders finished as a top-15 PPR running back despite sharing work with Jordan Howard. With Howard now in Miami and no veterans coming in to take his place, Sanders is going to take on a massive role in the Philly offense. As the lead back on a clear
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
CEH has insane upside in Kansas City's system, but the infatuation is a little out of control. I'll drop him slightly in my rankings, as I much prefer to land him in round two than round one.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Edwards-Helaire was probably set to be overvalued in fantasy drafts, but now that Damien Williams has opted out, he immediately vaults into reliable RB1 territory. The Chiefs spent their first-round pick on Edwards-Helaire and, regardless, pretty much any replacement value running back can find fantasy gold in Kansas City's system. There are still other running backs on the roster who will garner touches, including Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson, and because the Chiefs' offense is so dynamic, there is no reason for them to run their rookie back into the ground. Still, without Damien Williams, Edwards-Helaire should get the majority of the touches in the backfield, and that puts him in firm RB1 territory, full stop.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Edwards-Helaire runs with the kind of balance that allows him to bounce off tacklers, and he has the twitch and quickness to pick up a chunk of yardage after he's broken a tackle. He should be able to excel as a rookie in Kansas City's high-powered offense.Having improved his passing-game skills as his rookie season progressed, Sanders ended up emerging as the lead back in a relatively crowded Philadelphia backfield. He's the clear-cut lead back with Jordan Howard now in Miami.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
I absolutely love Clyde Edwards-Helaire as a talent. He was sensational for LSU last year and just quietly, amazing for my college fantasy team. I was very low on him at his price until the Damien Williams hold out. He now jumps into the first round discussions for me as I don't believe Darwin Thompson and DeAndre Washington have enough to keep him off the field for more than a rest. It is very possible the Chiefs bring in a veteran and that stops me from ranking him among the elite, but he is certainly in that second tier of guys and has massive upside. The Miles Sanders hype is growing as he continues to slide up drafts, often going in the first round. This does remind me a lot of Dalvin Cook last year and that's not the worst comp. The key difference is that the Vikings are one-man show with Cook only limited by his fitness while the Eagles steadfastly refuse to go with a true workhorse. If that changes, Sanders could be a league winner, but it's also possible the Eagles return to their pass-first roots and Sanders becomes an RB2. I'm all for the risk, but not at a first round price. There's a heap of high-upside RBs in this area but Sanders is my favorite for a second round gamble. Pair him with a safe option like Henry, Mixon, Chubb or Jacobs and you're golden.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
I had Edwards-Helaire as my top running back in this year's class due to the way he fits the NFL today. He's a true three-down back who can catch 80-plus passes out of the backfield, while running for 1,000-plus yards. Landing with the Chiefs was a dream scenario, especially in the first round. Over the last seven years, running backs who've been drafted in the first round have averaged 280.7 touches in year one. 75 percent of them have finished as an RB2 or better. Don't think this is Darwin Thompson all over again, as he was a sixth-round pick last year, and those average just 29.8 touches in year one. This is Edwards-Helaire's backfield after Andy Reid said he's better than Brian Westbrook on film. You don't take those players off the field very often. He's worth a second-round pick and would be a steal in the third round. We all know Doug Pederson has loved his timeshares since coming to the Eagles, and after they moved on from Jordan Howard, many expected them to add a running back in the draft. Things can change, as there are a few free agent running backs out there, but for now, Sanders has the looks of a 15-plus touch running back.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
I was excited about Edwards-Helaire before Williams opted out, now, I'm all in. He's about to enter the best offense in football which will give him scoring opportunities on a weekly basis. Dating back to 1999, there have been five RB's coached by Andy Reid who finished inside the top-10 in their first year with him. Could Edwards-Helaire make it six? I think so.Sanders is everybody's favorite breakout candidate in 2020 and I can understand the appeal but I still believe his current ADP is a little too high. He plays in an offense that is known for their usage of multiple backs and he's only started 11 career games, I need to see more out of Sanders before looking at him as an RB1.

Above average rusher, dynamite pass catcher. The Chiefs made an investment that raised eyebrows, but Damien Williams opting out should make your heart skip a beat. Darkhorse candidate to finish as a top 2 RB.If Pederson commits, Sanders has a chance to finish as a top five back. His ADP is reasonable, and his ceiling is elite

The Twitter anointed, chosen one, the almighty, the hall of fame back who hasn't played a down yet. Is this guy going to deliver? Most certainly, but don't expect Barry Sanders 2.0Coach Pederson has handed the reigns to Sanders and I for one believe in this guy. The longer Carson Wentz stays healthy, the better this guy will be.

With Damien Williams opting out, CEH finds himself as THE guy in an Andy Reid system with Pat Mahomes at QB. *Insert drooling dog pic here* CEH is well worth the gamble in the back end of the first round. Huge upside.61 players have put up 800 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards since 2000. Miles Sanders ranks 61st in total touches of the group. I don't think people understand how impressive his rookie year was. He has the chance to really blow up this season, I am all in.

CEH is the bellcow RB for an offense that has very strong potential to lead the league in scoring. In the 29 games Mahomes has started, the RBs in those games have scored 39 touchdowns which is about 1.35 TDs per game. If CEH gets just HALF of that TD volume, that's still ~11 TDs in 16 games, which would've put him 7th in TDs last year. Remember, when Kareem Hunt was the bellcow in 2018, he was the RB6 in half-ppr FP/g and the RB8 in ppr FP/g. The upside is too large to put him below guys like Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Jacobs, and Chubb.

Top draft pick by the Chiefs. Very good receiver for a RB who should fit perfectly into the Chiefs system. Andy Reid has had an RB1 in over 75% of his coaching seasons.Very impressive rookie season in which he was extremely efficient as a receiver. Joins Kamara as the only rookie RB with over 8 YPT on 60 or more targets since 2000. Chance to be an elite RB in fantasy if given workhorse opportunity in Philly.

With D. Williams opting out, CEH's workload concerns fade considerably, but he's more likely to be great because of Ekeler-like efficiency than substantial volumeWas Top 12 fantasy RB from Weeks 11-17 with workload volume (18.6 touches per) that should carry over as lead RB in 2020

107 RB targets spread out to the Chiefs RB position last year. Due to injury, and coaching decisions, no RB played more than 35% of the snaps. If CEH can consolidate the targets and take charge on the backfield(like they seemingly drafted him to do), he might just be awesome. If you thought he might've been a product of the LSU offense, feel free to rely on that excuse in KC as well, should work just fine. Updated thoughts: DAMIEN WILLIAMS, the man who struggled to take over LeSean McCoy, still averaged a 63.5% snap share in 13 games(missed majority of week 11 with injury), still averaged 15.13 fantasy points in those 13 games, a pace of RB7. But now some are worried that the man drafted in the first round doesn't have the ability, or is too risky to be taken as an RB1? Dam paced for it and he couldn't even beat out McCoy while doing so, and now neither are on the team.Being the clear receiving back provides a safe floor(63 targets in 2019). The lack of other pass catching options might've helped his target count but that's a problem for another day. He was able to prove he can be productive with his receptions. He played 52% of the snaps, and this was with Howard missing a bunch of time. Would like to see that playing time increase but on the plus side, was the largest share of playing time since LeSean McCoy in 2014. Would've like to see more decisive cuts behind PFFs best graded run blocking line. Not going to get better with Brooks gone.

With the news that Damien Williams has opted out for the 2020 NFL season, CEH immediately shoots up into the top-10 at the RB position. While he's not going to be a "workhorse" back and see 250 carries, he's going to be heavily involved in the receiving game. I'm projecting him to have a similar workload to what Alvin Kamara has seen over the past few seasons and we know how that can translate to top-tier fantasy production in a dynamic offense. CEH can be drafted confidently in the same tier as Joe Mixon, Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake, and Josh Jacobs.Sanders seems locked in to be the "main guy" in this backfield at this point of the offseason. While I still believe these other RBs will take away some work, Sanders should see over 270 touches in 2020. He's a high-end RB2 with top-10 upside right now.

Now that Damien Williams has opted to sit out the 2020 season, Edwards-Helaire should be the unquestioned lead running back on one of the best offenses in the NFL. He is a RB1 with upside.Sanders emerged as the lead back in Philly with 1,327 yards from scrimmage and 6 touchdowns. Philly usually uses a RBBC, which caps his RB1 upside. If they give him lead back duties and he sees 250-275 touches, he could emerge as a RB1 in 2020.

Eagles RBs, although consistently utilized as a RBBC group in the past, have put up the fourth most fantasy points for RBs over the past five seasons. There are fantasy points there for the taking in this offense and a RB who put up 1300 yards in his rookie season is poised to take control of that backfield. Boston Scott and Co.'s potential role in the offense is not even worth mentioning.

The Kansas City Chiefs have averaged the following over the last 3 seasons: 282 rush attempts, 99 RB receptions, 4.43 rush yards per attempt, 7.4 RB yards per reception, 11.6 rushing touchdowns, 8.3 RB receiving tds Let's say, CEH only gets 60% of workload, going only on averages, he would finish with: 169 rush attempts, 60 receptions, 7 rush td, 5 rec td, 750 rush yards, 440 receiving yards He would finish with 251 PPR points. This would have had him ranked 9th last season ahead of Alvin Kamara, Saquon Barkley, Joe Mixon, Mark Ingram, and others. @BlakeAHamptonSanders was the RB6 in ppr ppg weeks 9-16 (17.5)

Could not have scripted a more perfect landing spot. Immediate Top-3 upside given the Talent + Fit + Usage + Surrounding Offense. Helaire is going to eat.Jordan Howard has been removed. No rookie competition added. When Howard was out, Sanders became Pederson's first true horse: 85%, 84%, 87%, 56%, 71%, and 82% of the snaps. This 75% threshold had been crossed only 1 other time in Pederson's 57 previous games. Sanders was the RB3 over this span, and has minimal competition from remaining "The Guy" in 2020. Is Carlos Hyde going to. come in and fuck this all up?
