Lineups
Much has been made about the Rams switching to a two-tight end-heavy scheme at the end of last season, a change that resulted in a substantial targets drop for Cooper Kupp. In the five-week span to close the 2019 season, Kupp only saw 6 targets per game as compared to his 16-game pace of 8.3 per game. Kupp is more effective out of the slot and he struggles against press coverage. However, I don't see these factors as enough to knock Kupp out of the top ten. He still had a touchdown in each of those five games to close 2019 and he is one of the biggest threats for double-digit touchdowns as a tremendous red zone threat. Sean McVay is an innovative offensive coach who won't let scheme keep the ball out of his best receiver's hands (all due respect to Robert Woods). Kupp is a value in drafts and is going to turn in another phenomenal season. The Jaguars enjoyed a breakout performance from D.J. Chark last season as he finished as the WR16 in 1/2 PPR scoring. He finished with 73 catches for 1,008 yards and 8 touchdowns, but there's still room for improvement. The Jaguars should be among the most pass-heavy teams in the NFL this season as their defense is suffering at the moment. Gardner Minshew is entering his second season and should get more comfortable in a pro offense. Chark will benefit and produce another strong fantasy campaign.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Not only did Kupp return for Week 1 after having undergone surgery to repair a torn ACL he suffered in November 2018, his torrid start to 2019 had him entering the Rams' Week 9 bye on pace to end the season with 116 catches for 1,584 yards. The fact that he then failed to surpass six catches or 65 yards in any of the seven games after L.A.'s bye is cause for fantasy concern.Chark emerged as Jacksonville's top receiver in 2019, catching four passes for 146 yards and a touchdown in the season opener and then being targeted five or more times in all 14 of his other games. There is a bit of uncertainty about his 2020 role with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo having been replaced by Jay Gruden, whose offenses have tended to feature more quick passes.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was a tale of two seasons for Kupp last year, as he was the No. 2 receiver in fantasy football through eight games, tallying 58 receptions for 792 yards and five touchdowns. He then fell off hard, finishing as the No. 31 receiver over the final eight games, totaling just 36 receptions for 369 yards and five touchdowns. The Rams started moving towards more 12 personnel, which includes two tight ends, which in turn leaves just two wide receivers on the field. Knowing Kupp is a slot receiver by nature, it affects him greatly. He actually played just 61 percent of the team's snaps in Weeks 16 and 17. But I'd argue that Jared Goff needs him on the field. While targeting Kupp, Goff posted a 117.0 QB Rating. While targeting everyone else, that number is just 78.6. Sean McVay is consistently evolving as a play caller, which bodes well for Kupp, as he'll likely be expanded to different roles moving forward. There are question marks, that much we know. However, we have still yet to see a "bad" season from Kupp in the NFL. I don't consider him as safe as his teammate Robert Woods, but Kupp should still be considered a low-end WR2 who has more touchdown upside. I mean, he's scored 21 receiving touchdowns in 39 career games. Woods has 25 receiving touchdowns in 100 career games. There were flashes of what could be an alpha wide receiver in Chark last year, but there were also times where he disappeared. For example, he had six games of 15-plus fantasy points, but he also had eight games with less than nine fantasy points. Is it reasonable for him to grow as a player? Yes. Is there now a bit more competition for targets on the roster? Yes. With the shortened offseason, it will be difficult to learn a new playbook, especially for rookies like second-round pick Laviska Shenault. Because of that, Gardner Minshew will likely be looking Chark's way a lot. With a schedule that starts with the Colts, Titans, Dolphins, Bengals, Texans, and Lions, Chark should have a monster first half of the fantasy season. There are much tougher matchups as the season goes on, however, but drafting Chark as a low-end WR2 with upside in the fifth round makes sense. But again, you may want to look at the possibility of trading him during his bye in Week 7.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
The departure of Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks elevates Kupp & Woods but is the WR3 Reynolds of Jefferson? Cooper Kupp is a moveable matchup piece in McVay's offense and I cant wait to see what he has designed for him this season
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Kupp lit the world on fire last season then slowed down. McVay rediscovered his 12 personell packages late in the season and Tyler Higbee should open up some coverage for Kupp. His ceiling will likely dip, but he's a bonafide WR2 pick with WR1 potentialChark looks to take the third year leap, but his near 1 TD per game output will come back to earth. His fate is tied to Minshew's.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
When healthy, Kupp is one of the safest players in all of fantasy football. He's targeted in the short game, deep shots, and most importantly, in the red zone. Last year he finished with 10 TDs and that was with Brandin Cooks still on the roster. Now, Cooks is in Houston and Kupp has a real shot at finishing as a top-10 WR.D.J. Chark was one of the biggest surprises of the 2019 season. He built a strong connection with Gardner Minshew and it showed on the field with Chark totaling 73 receptions, 1,008 yards, and eight TDs. Minshew's progression will be key for Chark making him a bit of a boom or bust type player.

7th among WRs in FAN PPG over past 2 seasons (min. 24 games) - led NFL in slot yards, and I'm just not buying that goes away significantly so LAR can run 12 personnelAfter SPARQ monster's 2019 breakout, now owns the go-to role in the JAC passing game, which offers more promise under new OC Jay Gruden

Kupp had 1,165 yards receiving and 10 receiving touchdowns in 2019. He is a very talented wide, but he is a little on the volatile side playing with QB Jared Goff.Chark's ability in the deep passing game allowed him to tally 1028 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns in 2019. He is a WR2 with some volatility playing on one of the worst rosters in the NFL.

Kupp was insanely productive through the first half of 2019, but he wasn't putting up anywhere close to the same type of numbers through the back half of last year. From Weeks 1-8, Kupp was the WR2 in all of fantasy football. However, from Weeks 9-17, Kupp was the WR31. His snaps decreased as the offense changed and he simply wasn't as productive. All indications are that the Rams offense is going to be the same as it was at the end of last year, which means Kupp is being insanely over-drafted this year. He'll have his big games here or there, but you may end up being disappointed that you drafted Kupp in 2020 at his current draft spot.Chark and Gardner Minshew have shown that they have great chemistry together. Chark has a little bit more competition for targets this season than last year, but he's still going to be a productive fantasy football option. He's in the range of a WR2 this season for me with upside.

Cooper Kupp finished as the WR3 in non-PPR but remains a TD-dependant option who was really hurt by Tyler Higbee's emergence at the end of 2019. His volume looks like it will drop a little in 2020 but with Todd Gurley gone the underneath targets should still remain plus he gets so many red zone looks you'd expect his TD numbers to remain high. Regression will occur across the board, the only question is how much.D.J. Chark enjoyed an impressive sophomore breakout, despite being slowed by an ankle injury later in the season. There are many reasons for concern though, from the drafting of Laviska Shenault to the signing of Chris Thompson and the general terribleness of this team. The upside is that it appears they'll be chasing plenty of games and don't look inclined to go as run-heavy this year. If Chark can stay healthy and maintain his target share he's going to be big in fantasy, that's a huge 'if' though.

Weeks 1-14 last season, he was the WR8 overall. He suffered an ankle in Week 14, missed a game, and was hampered the rest of the season. He still finished as the WR17 for the season. @SWallace_FF

Weeks 1-8: 87 targets, 10.8 targets/gm Weeks 10-17: 47 targets, 5.8 targets/gm How worried are we that the TE just replaced him?Had his most heavily targeted game with Foles, but Minshew was very capable of supporting him. A little under 7 targets a game with Minshew in year 1. That paces for 110 targets. TDs(8) are likely to regress if those targets remain. He remains the clear top target after FA and the draft. His drop grade per PFF is just below Michael Thomas, at number 7. He is what Will Fuller would be if Fuller could stay healthy and had hands, with all the target volume you could want.
