Lineups
Much has been made about the Rams switching to a two-tight end-heavy scheme at the end of last season, a change that resulted in a substantial targets drop for Cooper Kupp. In the five-week span to close the 2019 season, Kupp only saw 6 targets per game as compared to his 16-game pace of 8.3 per game. Kupp is more effective out of the slot and he struggles against press coverage. However, I don't see these factors as enough to knock Kupp out of the top ten. He still had a touchdown in each of those five games to close 2019 and he is one of the biggest threats for double-digit touchdowns as a tremendous red zone threat. Sean McVay is an innovative offensive coach who won't let scheme keep the ball out of his best receiver's hands (all due respect to Robert Woods). Kupp is a value in drafts and is going to turn in another phenomenal season.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Kupp had 1,165 yards receiving and 10 receiving touchdowns in 2019. He is a very talented wide, but he is a little on the volatile side playing with QB Jared Goff.I have had Green as the receiver to own in Cincinnati most of the offseason, but training camp has been battling hamstring issues and just does not appear that he can stay healthy. Boyd seems like the receiver to own in Cincinnati at this point.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Not only did Kupp return for Week 1 after having undergone surgery to repair a torn ACL he suffered in November 2018, his torrid start to 2019 had him entering the Rams' Week 9 bye on pace to end the season with 116 catches for 1,584 yards. The fact that he then failed to surpass six catches or 65 yards in any of the seven games after L.A.'s bye is cause for fantasy concern. After having served as the Rams' quarterbacks coach in 2018, the offense Bengals head coach Zac Taylor installed in Cincinnati last season was similar to the one Sean McVay implemented in Los Angeles. It turned out to be Boyd who benefited most among Cincinnati's wideouts, as he was one of only seven NFL players to surpass 145 targets in 2019.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Cooper Kupp finished as the WR3 in non-PPR but remains a TD-dependant option who was really hurt by Tyler Higbee's emergence at the end of 2019. His volume looks like it will drop a little in 2020 but with Todd Gurley gone the underneath targets should still remain plus he gets so many red zone looks you'd expect his TD numbers to remain high. Regression will occur across the board, the only question is how much.Tyler Boyd put together another strong WR2 season on the back of 1000+ yards and 5 TDs, despite some bad luck around the goal line. Now rejoined by A.J. Green and John Ross and with the additions of Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins, this offense is going to look very different in 2020. That takes away from Boyd's upside a little but he should remain a major part of an offence that might finally get it together this season. He's great value in the middle of the seventh round.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was a tale of two seasons for Kupp last year, as he was the No. 2 receiver in fantasy football through eight games, tallying 58 receptions for 792 yards and five touchdowns. He then fell off hard, finishing as the No. 31 receiver over the final eight games, totaling just 36 receptions for 369 yards and five touchdowns. The Rams started moving towards more 12 personnel, which includes two tight ends, which in turn leaves just two wide receivers on the field. Knowing Kupp is a slot receiver by nature, it affects him greatly. He actually played just 61 percent of the team's snaps in Weeks 16 and 17. But I'd argue that Jared Goff needs him on the field. While targeting Kupp, Goff posted a 117.0 QB Rating. While targeting everyone else, that number is just 78.6. Sean McVay is consistently evolving as a play caller, which bodes well for Kupp, as he'll likely be expanded to different roles moving forward. There are question marks, that much we know. However, we have still yet to see a "bad" season from Kupp in the NFL. I don't consider him as safe as his teammate Robert Woods, but Kupp should still be considered a low-end WR2 who has more touchdown upside. I mean, he's scored 21 receiving touchdowns in 39 career games. Woods has 25 receiving touchdowns in 100 career games. After finishing as the WR17 in 2018 and then the WR23 in 2019, Boyd's being disrespected in fantasy drafts, coming off the board outside the top 30 wide receivers. Sure, A.J. Green is back in the lineup, but drafters aren't high on him, either. Oddly enough, Boyd was a better fantasy asset with Green in the lineup in 2018. Boyd is 25 years old, it's surely not his age. Do people really think that Joe Burrow will be a downgrade from Andy Dalton? That can't be it. Looking at Burrow at LSU, his top receiver (stat-wise) was Justin Jefferson, who put up a stupid 111 receptions for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns. Jefferson was his slot receiver. While it's a different offense, we know Boyd saw 147 targets in the first year of Zac Taylor's offense. He's the ideal WR3 who's already proven to be better than that, and if the public is right on Green being "done", then Boyd would be a mega-hit in fantasy.

The departure of Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks elevates Kupp & Woods but is the WR3 Reynolds of Jefferson? Cooper Kupp is a moveable matchup piece in McVay's offense and I cant wait to see what he has designed for him this seasonI am not worried about Joe Burrow getting him the ball. Boyd is the least talked about WR in fantasy and usually overlooked but his 90 receptions and 1,000+ yards in 2019, he should most certainly have your attention for 2020

Kupp lit the world on fire last season then slowed down. McVay rediscovered his 12 personell packages late in the season and Tyler Higbee should open up some coverage for Kupp. His ceiling will likely dip, but he's a bonafide WR2 pick with WR1 potentialAJ Green has not stayed healthy, Boyd is another great pick as the likelihood Green misses time is high.

When healthy, Kupp is one of the safest players in all of fantasy football. He's targeted in the short game, deep shots, and most importantly, in the red zone. Last year he finished with 10 TDs and that was with Brandin Cooks still on the roster. Now, Cooks is in Houston and Kupp has a real shot at finishing as a top-10 WR.Boyd had a career year in 2019 totaling 90 receptions, 1,046 yards, and five TDs. Both the receptions and yardage were career-highs. His only issue was getting in the end-zone, Joe Burrow should make that a lot easier. Even if A.J. Green manages to stay healthy, Boyd can still finish as a high-end WR3/low-end WR2.

7th among WRs in FAN PPG over past 2 seasons (min. 24 games) - led NFL in slot yards, and I'm just not buying that goes away significantly so LAR can run 12 personnel

Boyd 2018 16 game pace (played 13.5): 128 targets, 90 receptions, 1218 receiving yards, 8 TDs 2019 Non-Ryan Finley 16 game pace (played 13): 156 targets, 96 receptions, 1085 receiving yards, 5 TDs. @FF_RyanB Tyler Boyd gets a lot of targets, but they have been lower leverage for fantasy points. @LordReebs

Kupp was insanely productive through the first half of 2019, but he wasn't putting up anywhere close to the same type of numbers through the back half of last year. From Weeks 1-8, Kupp was the WR2 in all of fantasy football. However, from Weeks 9-17, Kupp was the WR31. His snaps decreased as the offense changed and he simply wasn't as productive. All indications are that the Rams offense is going to be the same as it was at the end of last year, which means Kupp is being insanely over-drafted this year. He'll have his big games here or there, but you may end up being disappointed that you drafted Kupp in 2020 at his current draft spot.Boyd has plenty of competition for targets this season, but this offense is going to be among the league's best. There should be plenty of scoring opportunities for Boyd and he's a steal at his current ADP. He's a fantastic WR2/WR3 option for your roster.

Burrow's addition is huge, and Green's return isn't as disastrous as many might think, since Boyd is at his most dangerous when feasting upon No.2 corners. A near lock to go underappreciated in drafts, and could outpace Green if he develops the better immediate rapport

Weeks 1-8: 87 targets, 10.8 targets/gm Weeks 10-17: 47 targets, 5.8 targets/gm How worried are we that the TE just replaced him?I might be in the minority but barely putting up 1000 yards on 150 targets is more of a caution for me than anything. QB play was bad, no doubt. Think he is more of a complimentary piece in an offense That can be Jarvis Landry like at best. Not a bad thing to be, but I think his athleticism caps him.
