Washington's '19 stats benefited from the usage that resulted from Juju Smith-Schuster missing four games with a knee injury.Davis showed signs in 2018 that he was starting to emerge as a true No. 1, a perimeter receiver capable of making plays downfield. Instead, he became an afterthought in Tennessee's run-first offense as A.J. Brown established himself in his rookie season as quarterback Ryan Tannehill's top option in the passing game.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
James Washington started to live up to his potential in his second season, finishing just outside the top 50 wide receivers. He would ordinarily have significant room for growth with the return of Big Ben in 2020, but the Steelers spending their first pick on a talented outside receiver is a very bad sign for Washington. He's now in a battle with the Notre Dame rookie for the WR3 spot and it seems more likely he'll end up as the deep threat and that's always got an implied ceiling in fantasy. He a dynasty hold but no worth drafting in most redraft leagues.Although the Titans had a historically efficient 2019 with a surprising amount of passing from Ryan Tannehill, Corey Davis still went oddly downhill. With A.J. Brown firmly established as lead receiver and Derrick Henry the engine of this offense, it's very hard to see Davis being a truly useful fantasy receiver. While he's available at the end of most drafts, it's important to realize he's not offering you much upside. His early PUP listing to start training camp is an additional headache you don't need.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
We have the battle of second-round receivers here, as Washington is coming off his most productive season in 2019, though it's important to note that he and Mason Rudolph played in college together, so there was chemistry there. Still, it was impressive for him to post 735 yards and three touchdowns on just 80 targets considering who was throwing to him. If the Steelers hadn't drafted Claypool, Washington would have sleeper appeal. Heck, he still does, but Claypool clouds his path. It does help that rookie minicamps were canceled and that there is no preseason action, so it's likely we see Washington get the reps out of the gate, and Roethlisberger has always talked good about him. Snagging Washington with a late-round pick might make sense, as you'll find out your answer in Week 1 against the Giants. If he plays the starter role and has a few big plays, you'll see many run to snag him off the waiver wire. On top of that, if Smith-Schuster or Johnson were to miss any time, Washington would likely be staring at six-plus targets per game.It wasn't long ago where we were drafting Davis as a top-30 receiver with breakout potential. He's now going outside the top-60 wide receivers. It certainly doesn't help that he had to have toe surgery and is now missing time with the team. It's nothing major but it does put him at a major disadvantage when A.J. Brown has overtaken the alpha role on the team. When a team has averaged just 440 pass attempts over the last two years, it's tough to find more than one player with value. The wide receivers have averaged 251 targets per season and a 57 percent target share. So, even if we get Tannehill to 480 pass attempts, we're looking at 274 targets for the receivers, and we know Brown is getting roughly 21-25 percent of the overall target share. It does help that Tajae Sharpe and his 35 targets are gone, so we're trying to find a way to divvy up 135-158 targets between Davis and Adam Humphries (and others). That's enough for him to be reliable at times, especially if Tannehill can maintain some momentum from last year. We also can't forget that if Brown were to miss time, Davis would likely step into that 20-25 percent target share, and as a former first-round talent in a contract year, he could surprise. He has a little bit of a DeVante Parker feel to him, because make no mistake about it, Davis is a good football player. I like him as a late-round bench stash.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
It seems like every year we talk about James Washington as a breakout candidate and it never happens. Well, not anymore. Diontae Johnson is now looking like the Steelers future WR2 leaving Washington on the sidelines. He does not need to be drafted in redraft leagues.Former 1st-round pick, Corey Davis has been just about as disappointing a 1st-round pick can be. In three seasons with the Titans, Davis has a total of six TDs, that's not going to cut it in fantasy. Davis does not need to be drafted in redraft leagues.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Washington's had the opportunity the past couple of seasons, but he's now been replaced by Chase Claypool in this offense. The Steelers needed a big-bodied WR on the outside to allow Juju to move back into the slot, which relegates Washington to a backup role. Washington's nothing more than a hold on deep rosters.Davis hasn't been able to take the talent that he has and make it translate to production on the field. There's the potential that a full offseason with Ryan Tannehill as the QB will generate some more chemistry, but nothing that Davis has done up to this point in his career would indicate that that's a possibility. The benefit with Davis this season though is that the cost to acquire him is extremely low. If you're looking for someone to fill one of the last spots on your bench, it's smart to go after someone with the potential that Davis possesses.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Throw out everything that happened for any Steelers receiver in 2019. The combination of Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges would (and did) sink any pass-catcher they came across. With Ben Roethlisberger back under center, there's some optimism as a vertical threat, but he's certainly been passed by Diontae Johnson in terms of "breakout Steelers receivers." With Chase Claypool also in tow, Washington's chances of fantasy relevancy seem dim, and he's more of a "handcuff" receiver to Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Coming off his best yards per catch season and best catch % season you'd think all is well with Corey Davis. his 69 targets and being the clear second fiddle to A.J. Brown say otherwise.
