Lineups
Washington's idea of a passing offense was hard to watch last season and the scheme has to get better this year mostly because it can't get any worse. Scott Turner should help Haskins unlock some more of his play and McLaurin will benefit as his primary receiving weapon. In his rookie year, McLaurin had 58 catches for 919 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was a consistent downfield threat and finished with an impressive 15.8 yards per reception. Both second-year players, Haskins and McLaurin should continue to improve as they grow more accustomed to pro play and their strong chemistry will help them both succeed.Courtland Sutton is entering his third pro season in what should be a much-improved offense. The additions of Melvin Gordon, Jerry Jeudy, and K.J. Hamler, as well as new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, should help open things up for second-year quarterback Drew Lock. Sutton is still the leading receiver on this team and after a WR19 finish in Lock's rookie year, he should continue to improve. Sutton is a big-bodied, contested-catch machine who has 10-touchdown upside at some point. The Broncos won't be a high-volume passing offense, but they will likely run more plays than last season and Sutton will benefit.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Despite having missed Week 4, McLaurin would've had a good chance to surpass 1,000 receiving yards as a rookie had a concussion not sidelined him for the season finale. He could benefit from new offensive coordinator Scott Turner's game plans involving more play-action passing than Washington ran under coordinator Kevin O'Connell in 2019.Once Emmanuel Sanders was dealt to San Francisco a week prior to the NFL's trade deadline last October, Sutton emerged as the clear-cut top option in Denver's passing game. He does come with a small amount of risk from a fantasy perspective with unproven second-year quarterback Drew Lock under center, but Sutton enters 2020 as the Broncos' most explosive weapon.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Scary Terry McLaurin had an incredible debut season with 919 yards and 7 TDs in an awful offense with sub-standard QB play. While Dwayne Haskins is back, you'd have to expect some improvement in his passing while the improved supporting cast should also help F1. Hence weekly floor remains very low, as evidenced by his mid-season run of seven games under 10 fantasy points, but he has week winning upside and is a great Best Ball option. He's a risk/reward WR3 with strong weekly and seasonal upside if the Redskins can finally get their act together in the passing game.Courtland Sutton had a sensational breakout in 2019, despite playing with a bizarre array of mediocre quarterbacks. Concerningly though, he wasn't at his best with Drew Lock, getting no more than five receptions in a Lock game. To add to the issues, the team has signed possession receiver Jerry Jeudy, speedster KJ Hamler, big body Albert O and superior receiving back Melvin Gordon. That means Sutton's very high 26% target share is going to take a major hit. In an offense with low passing numbers, low snap counts and for a receiver with low per-target efficiency, it's looking bleak for Courtland Sutton. He's a bust possibility with a limited ceiling in an offence that will take time to come together.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was remarkable what McLaurin was able to do last year while playing on one of the worst teams in football. The disappointing part was that even though he saw 37.1 percent of his team's air yards (sixth in the NFL), he finished with just 93 targets. Knowing it's unlikely we see a big increase in pass attempts, it's hard for him to see an air yards number that is much higher. The reason we can be semi-optimistic with his targets is due to the lack of options around him. Kelvin Harmon and Paul Richardson are gone, along with the 86 targets they saw last year. In comes rookie Antonio Gandy-Golden, and veteran Dontrelle Inman, who was recently signed off the street. If we look at offensive coordinator Scott Turner's offense last year, you'll see it was very top-heavy when it came to the wide receivers, as D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel both hit 106-plus targets. I can't say there's anyone else on this Washington receiver depth chart that deserves more than 75 targets. This could be very similar to A.J. Brown, where we're looking at a player who might get a 25 percent target share in his offense, even if it is a low volume one. The difference is that McLaurin's quarterback hasn't ever posted all-time great numbers, and it's unreasonable to expect that. Still, McLaurin can likely live up to low-end WR2 expectations, though getting him as your WR3 is the ideal scenario. What a year for Sutton in 2019, eh? He didn't finish as high as some thought (WR19), but it was a miracle he finished there if you were to go back and watch some of the passes he came down with. His 125 targets were the 15th most among wide receivers, though it's hard to see that continuing. He had zero competition for targets last year, which is why he saw over 50 percent of the ones that went to wide receivers. He'll now have to contend with first-round pick Jerry Jeudy, who's the most polished receiver who's come out in the last five years, and second-round pick KJ Hamler in the starting lineup. That's not to mention Melvin Gordon, who's an established pass-catcher out of the backfield. Sutton is clearly a star, but this offense is now littered with talented pass catchers. There were just two games all last year Sutton saw fewer than seven targets, but I think that number goes up this year. He was a middling WR2 last year with those high target totals, yet he's being drafted essentially where he finished last year, and that's despite the improved talent around him. If Sutton wants to finish better than a low-end WR2/high-end WR3, he's going to need double-digit touchdowns, and that's just not something I can predict given the talent around him.

TMC breaks 1,000 yards and becomes Washington's top guy this season. Love his potentialThe connection with Drew Lock is there and now its time for that offense to take it to the next level. Tons of potential and now is the time to put it all together

Potential to explode this season but QB play could send him into a sophomore slump. He's the only horse in town so McLaurin drafters should hope Steven Sims steps up.Facing more competition for targets, but true WR1 skillset. Ideal WR3 if you can land him there.

Packer Report
In only 14 games last season, McLaurin racked up 919 receiving yards and seven TDs while playing with some truly terrible QB play. If Dwayne Haskins can progress in year two as the starter then we could see McLaurin as a top-24 WR. That being said, Haskins had some real struggles last year so that's something you have to consider. At a certain point, no matter how good a WR is, he needs a talented QB to get him the football. There was plenty of hype surrounding Sutton leading up to the 2019 season and he did not disappoint. Even while playing with below-average QB play, Sutton managed 1,112 receiving yards and six TDs. Now as Drew Lock enters year two under center, we could see Sutton improve on his already impressive 2019 numbers.

Advanced metrics darling and near-backend WR2 producer as rookie was PFF's 6th-highest grade WR in 2019 despite ugly QB combo of Keenum, McCoy, Haskins4th at WR in end zone targets (14), 1st in TeamAirYards% and NFL-high 8 Defensive PI penalties drawn for 150 yards speaks to the nightmare matchup he is

FantasyPros
McLaurin was the lone bright spot in the Washington offense with 58 receptions for 919 yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. He should take a jump in his second year, especially if second-year QB Dwayne Haskins can also take a jump in his second year.Sutton had 1,129 yards from scrimmage and 6 touchdowns playing with 3 starting quarterbacks in 2019. If Drew Lock can emerge as a reliable starter, Sutton has the talent to be in the WR1 discussion in 2020.

McLaurin was a revelation last season for people who drafted him in the last round or scooped him up off of waiver wires in week one. While he does have more competition for targets in 2020, he's the main option in this passing attack and is a guarantee to see over 120 targets. He's a value right now at his current ADP and would be a fantastic addition to your fantasy roster as a WR2/WR3.Sutton has all the talent in the world to be a top-12 fantasy wide receiver, but there are some legitimate obstacles in his way that could prevent that from happening. This offense may not throw the ball enough to return that type of target volume and he has legitimate competition for targets now with Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler. Sutton's a solid WR2 for your fantasy roster that comes with potential top-12 upside if everything goes his way.

Terry McLaurin's 13.7 PPR FPG last year tied for 10th-most all-time with JuJu Smith-Schuster for any rookie WR drafted in the second round or later of the NFL draft. @GrahamBarfield

If you had to guess, who would you say was second on the team in targets? Chris Thompson with 58. He will not be without competition in 2020 but I don't think that has to be a bad thing. Terry saw 6.6 targets with Haskins for 34/500/2 in 8 games. A lot of change in 2020. Scott Turner is the new OC, was co-oc in Carolina where Carolina ranked second in attempts last year. Do bad teams tend to pass more? Probably, the Dolphins and Bengals were 6th and 7th. Will the Redskins be bad? I dunno. Lots of questions.Flacco 1-8(8 Games): 12.6ppg Allen 9-12(3 Games): 11.44ppg Lock 13-17(5 Games): 10.2ppg He averaged his least ppg with Lock but also received his only double digit target games with Lock, a growing, rookie QB with a big arm.
