After being viewed as the consensus Dynasty WR1 just a couple of years ago, Smith-Schuster has taken a free fall down rankings recently. After putting up underwhelming numbers in 2020, Juju only signed a very small deal in free agency to remain in Pittsburgh. Everything that this team has done this off-season signals that Juju might be in for another down year, unfortunately. With the addition of Harris in the first round, this team should return to a more balanced approach and Harris will take away some work as a receiver out of the backfield. Additionally, the selection of Freiermuth in the second round indicates that this team could be moving towards more of a 12-personnel approach with Matt Canada now at OC. This effectively takes Juju off the field as the slot receiver, therefore limiting his fantasy projections. Juju will still have weeks of being fantasy relevant, but he fits more as a low-end FLEX option in my rankings versus a guaranteed WR3. There doesn't seem to be much upside to selecting him at his current ADP.Samuel's coming over from Carolina to reunite with his former head coach, Ron Rivera. While Samuel put together a very solid season last year in Carolina, we should be pumping the brakes on him in this Scott Turner offense. When Samuel was in this offense previously, he was used primarily as an intermediate-to-deep threat and had a relatively high ADOT. Last season, Samuel was used closer to the line of scrimmage and this is where he saw his production really take a jump. Samuel's a fine low-end WR3 this upcoming season that should have some big performances throughout the year, but we need to remain cautious with our expectations for the talented wideout.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Though it was better than his 2019 season, there were plenty of ups and downs from Smith-Schuster in 2020. Part of the reason for inconsistency is due to Ben Roethlisberger's volatile performance, but even if he rights the ship in 2021, the bigger part of the problem for Smith-Schuster is the competition he has for targets. Chase Claypool will be entering his sophomore season, Diontae Johnson seemed to figure out his drops as the year went on, and they added Najee Harris and Pat Freiermuth in the first two rounds of the draft. Suddenly, Smith-Schuster might be third in line for targets in this offense. He'll probably finish as a WR3, but I just don't see the upside to drafting him as anything more than a low-end WR3.It was good to see Samuel finally have his breakout season in year four, though it's worth noting that his numbers have improved every year. The issue, however, is that he's being reunited with offensive coordinator Scott Turner, who couldn't get the most out of Samuel during the 2019 season. While Samuel saw a career-high 106 targets that year, he averaged a minuscule 5.9 yards per target while used in an incorrect role. Will that change? It's tough to say, but Terry McLaurin, J.D. McKissic, Antonio Gibson, and Logan Thomas are all competition for targets with his new team. Samuel should have plenty of manufactured touches, but don't automatically assume he's as valuable as he was in 2020.

The Good: JuJu's role in the offense is undeniable and the Steelers know how to utilize his strengths. Among all WRs last season, Juju played the most snaps from the slot (711) and ran the most routes (629) on a team that had the second most pass plays per game (42). His 128 targets were 15th most in the NFL despite playing with two other fantasy viable WRs, Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool, and one of the better No. 4 WRs in football, James Washington. The Bad: JuJu's role, even with all that attention, is extremely limited because of his skill set. JuJu is known for his inability to get open and create yards after the catch, and the numbers prove that reputation right. Last season, he averaged -0.4 Yards After Catch Over Expected (YACOE) per reception, good for 124th in the NFL. This is not an anomaly. Juju hasn't been able to top 1.0 YACOE/Rec since his rookie season. To put that into perspective, 38 players eclipsed the 1.0 YACOE/Rec mark in 2020, with Deebo Samuel leading the way (4.6). In addition, JuJu had a dreadful average depth of target (aDoT) from the ghost of Ben Roethlisberger who turned into a checkdown machine last season. JuJu's 5.49 aDOT was good for 151st in the NFL. Numbers like this explain how a receiver with the 15th most targets in the NFL fails to break 850 yards.
Mark Ringo
Sleepers and Busts
For some reason JuJu Smith Schuster chose to return to Pittsburgh. Not meant to be a knock on the city. Instead it's a knock on an offense that's in rapid decline. The Steelers line was horrible in 2020 and it might be even worse this year. Big Ben looks washed. If he makes it through the season it will be a major accomplishment. There's not much upside with Smith-Schuster. He should have gone to a team with more offensive firepower. Let someone else curse at the tv when the Steelers are on offense. Avoid
Joe Pisapia
FantasyPros
Joe Brady figured out how to get the best out of Curtis Samuel, and Samuel turned that performance into a free agent deal with the Washington Football Team. Ryan Fitzpatrick will have to build report with his new receivers, but one would consider Samuel's '20 numbers as a good base line expectation with potential for more. But, it would be wise to draft him on the baseline, bot the upside.

Great fit in WASH where deep speed could finally be capitalized upon w/ Fitz, in an offense he's familiar with. I like Joe Brady's scheme and his volume last year (2nd most touches among WRs!!!) more, but the QB upgrade should balance that out
