Hail to Fantasy Football
He's a potential holdout, but it's unlikely with the new CBA. For now I'm not lowering him but that might change in a month...
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Dalvin Cook has massive league winning upside! (If he can say healthy.) That's the argument I'm hearing a lot of and it always comes with that little caveat in brackets, whispered in the hope you won't notice. Sadly with Cook it's hard not to notice him breaking down towards the end of every season and surely the Vikings must be as well. When you add in the awkward contract situation and things look very iffy when it comes to taking the Viking in the first five picks. That brings me to a major problem, Alexander Mattison. Mattison isn't a special back but he's shown he can do the job absolutely fine and that means a smart coach will use him to spell Cook a lot more. That's not what you want as the Cook owner as it really caps his upside. Feel free to take Cook somewhere in the Top 5 this draft season but know you're risking your season on a very shaky foundation.Don't sleep on a Joe Mixon bounce back in 2020! The Bengals were truly awful last year, but Joe Burrow, AJ Green, Tee Higgins and a slew of other additions indicate a new dawn in Cinci. Mixon remains the clear lead back and should get another 300-350 touches. The improved attack and Joe Burrow's love of passing to RBs means Mixon has seriously high upside in 2020. He's a strong first round pick.

"The things I do coming out of the backfield, the things I do in between the tackles, I block, I pretty much do it all," Cook said. "I don't have to come off the field. I think some guys just don't do as much as I do, and I think that's why I'm today's (top) back." Cook solidified himself as an elite option at the position last season, but his injury history remains lengthy and concerning. -Pioneer Press Cook has slipped a couple of spots due to him threatening a holdout. As soon as he signs something he's the RB4, but I'd hesitate drafting him until he signs something.Mixon jumps off the page as an RB who did a lot with nothing last year, but I'm nervous about a potential holdout.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Dalvin Cook is the centerpiece of his offense, which is something that very few players in the NFL get to claim. At the time of writing, we're seeing him threaten to holdout if he doesn't get the contract extension he's looking for from the Minnesota Vikings. While Cook has the leverage in terms of his involvement in the offense, he still has yet to play a full 16-game season. This holdout may extend into the regular season and that's worrisome for fantasy owners. We'll have to take a wait-and-see approach right now, but he's a solid first-round pick if he does end his holdout.Joe Mixon has always had the talent to be a fantasy football star, but the offenses he's been tied to have struggled the past several seasons. Now, the Bengals have Joe Burrow leading the offense and this should be one of the league's most unstoppable units. If that's the case, there are going to be plenty of scoring opportunities for Mixon in 2020. If you miss out on the "Top 5", don't worry about it...scoop up Mixon and celebrate.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Le'V Bell, Melvin Gordon are the most recent cautionary tales for why we should take a RB holdout threat seriously - Minimizing risk is key in early roundsFinished in backend of RB1 class each of past 2 seasons despite tough environment - if rookie QB J. Burrow can deliver on hype, that's a big boon for Mixon
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It turns out Gary Kubiak is very good for a run-game. Cook took his game to another level in 2019, finishing as the No. 5 running back despite missing two games. Not only did he total 18-plus carries in eight games, but he also ranked third in yards per route run among running backs. With Stefon Diggs gone, we could see him highlighted even more in the passing game, though Justin Jefferson will eat some of them. Cook also led the league with 21 carries inside the five-yard-line. Health has always been a question mark with Cook, but when healthy, he's easily a top-10 back. It's one thing to project a breakout for a player due to an increase in opportunity. It's another thing to project a breakout due to an increase in offensive production. Mixon got the opportunity last year under Zac Taylor, as he totaled 18-plus touches on 10 different occasions. But he'll need the offense to take a step forward in 2020 if he wants to ascend into stardom, as he's been an RB2 or better in just 57 percent of his games over the last two years. You must pay attention to his contract status as you approach drafts because Mixon has stated he'll hold out without an extension. This is a real thing with running backs, as they're trying to preserve their health while cashing in on a second contract. Stay tuned.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
How many more terrible situations does he have to survive before he finally gets a real supporting cast? The team has finished in the bottom half of the league in yards and points the last 3 seasons. Mixon manages to survive as RB34(rookie year where he only started 7 games), 9, and 13.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Cook had a breakout season with 1,654 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns. Cook should be a perfect fit for Gary Kubiak's running back friendly offense and he should be an elite RB1 in 2020.Mixon had a horrible start to the season, but finished the year strong and he had 1424 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns on the season. The Bengals should have a new quarterback in 2020 with their first overall pick, which should make him a more consistent RB1 in 2020.
