Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
When you put on the film, Damien Harris really impresses. While he only had 137 carries last year, he averaged exactly 5 YPC and PFF absolutely loved him. Unfortunately, the injuries are certainly something to still be concerned about and the offensive structure around him automatically puts a cap on his fantasy output. With Cam Newton at QB, Harris has little to no chance of finding the end zone with any sort of regularity. Of his 137 carries last season, Harris only had 6 in the Red Zone, while Newton had 42. Harris can be a fine depth piece for a roster, but fantasy managers that are hoping he turns into something more than a RB3 might just find themselves disappointed yet again this season.Fournette came alive in the NFL Playoffs last year and was a key component to Tampa winning the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, this doesn't provide us with much more clarity on this backfield heading into 2021. Jones is still a part of this rotation - and he actually outproduced Fournette in the regular season last year - while Gio Bernard has also been brought in to be a reliable pass-catching option. Fournette could continue his success from the postseason and truly take over this starting job, which would instantly put him in the top-15 conversation. However, there's as equally strong of a possibility that Jones cleans up his fumbling problems and takes over. Adding Fournette to your roster certainly has its appeal, but his price needs to be appropriate. As a RB3 on your roster, you can absorb the potential fallout if Fournette doesn't pan out. Anything more than that though is playing with fire.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
What's the best-case scenario for Harris? Didn't we see it last year when Sony Michel went down with an injury? Not only is Michel healthy, but the Patriots also decided to draft Rhamondre Stevenson in the fourth round of this year's draft, which just adds another body to the mix. I like Harris as a player, but as someone who topped 16 touches just twice last year with little competition and no role in the passing game, you should aim higher for your RB2/3 option. It's easy to recall the good times Fournette had in the playoffs and use that as a reason to move him up draft boards, but don't let a couple games spoil what was a very mediocre season. He finished with more than 52 rushing yards just once all year, and that came in Week 2 against the Panthers. Fournette's primary source of fantasy points in 2020 was via the passing game, as he saw 47 targets in 13 games. Unfortunately, the Bucs added Gio Bernard, who's a much better receiver out of the backfield. Knowing that Bernard is the more reliable third-down option and that Ronald Jones is probably the better two-down option, that leaves Fournette in no man's land. He's not someone you're going to want to start every week.
Kevin Wheeler
The Draft Zone
NFL reporter Mike Reiss says, "I see Damien Harris as the RB1, and it's pretty decisive." What has that ever meant in the Patriots offense? Patriots RB coach has been hyping Damien Harris for TWO YEARS now. He has a chance to move up a tier, but I can't see myself drafting him before the 8th round.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
The question for Fournette in 2021 is are we going to see the regular season version of him or "Playoff Lenny? The regular season version, who saw fewer than half the snaps and rarely had an impact game, is a fantasy afterthought. The playoff version, who averaged 73% of the snaps and more than 20 touches per game, is a locked-in fantasy starter. The Bucs brought back almost all of their key contributors, but they also added Gio Bernard, who should cut into Fournette's work in the passing game (Fournette averaged more than five targets and four receptions per game in the playoffs). And, Bruce Arians has shown every inclination to switch "lead" running backs at the drop of a hat. In other words, Fournette is certainly worth a roster spot, but there are a ton of impediments to him become a reliable RB2 this year. Draft him as a bench piece with upside for more if there are injuries to his competition for touches.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Harris showed flashes of fantasy relevance when he started last year, but New England is an offense in flux and Harris is a low-end RB3.Forunette resigned with the Buccaneers, but Ronald Jones II also had 172.3 fantasy points and tailed off at the end of the year with the emergence of Fournette. I see them both as RB3 to RB4 options that will vulture carries from each other.
Mark Ringo
Sleepers and Busts
I thought Fournette would win the job over Ronald Jones last year. That didn't happen. But when Jones went down with injury, it was Fournette who helped the Bucs win a title. His power running was like a semi rolling down the interstate. One strategy for fantasy owners to consider is to grab both Jones and Fournette. They're cheap enough with ADPs of 75 and 64 respectively. That way you lock up the RB spot for one of the best offenses in the league.
Wolf of Roto Street
Roto Street Journal
Line upgrades + skill upgrades + Cam return signal more explosive, power-based O -- team reportedly interested in adding RB competition though.Back w/ Bucs... goody! Him, RoJo, and Gio form among the most disturbing RBBC's in the league
