FantasyPros
Mack missed four of the first five games due to injuries, but still managed 908 rushing yards, 4.7 YPC and nine TDs. He is playing behind an emerging offensive line and he should be a low-end RB2 in 2019, even without QB Andrew Luck.Williams had a nice close to the season and he should have a big role in their offense in 2019. Williams is a solid RB2, but he is in a crowded backfield with RB LeSean McCoy and RB Darwin Thompson competing for touches.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
When drafting a running back in the third- or fourth-round, it's likely they're going to be the No. 2 running back on your fantasy team, and Mack was ideal for that role, until Andrew Luck suddenly retired, putting the whole Colts offense in a different realm. Because of the downgrade to Jacoby Brissett, Mack should be considered an RB3 who does still play behind one of the top offensive lines in the league. It's never a bad thing to have the running back attached to Andy Reid's offense, though Williams shouldn't go inside the top few rounds due to his question marks. He's still yet to have more than 13 carries in a regular season game, so what makes us believe he's going to stand up to a full workload? The Chiefs just snagged LeSean McCoy when he was released by the Bills, making the situation even more sticky. Not to mention the performance by Darwin Thompson in the preseason. It's possible that Andy Reid moves to somewhat of a timeshare, though Williams should be the starter out of the gate.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
He's in line to push 20 touches per game for what should still be a decent offenses despite loss of QB Luck - was No. 11 RB in half-PPR PPG in '18, and closed out final 5 games (inc. playoffs) with 5 TDs and avg. of 101 YFSFit the bill nicely in KC backfield after K. Hunt suspension/release - No. 2 RB in half-PPR FAN PPG over final 3 weeks - HC Reid's comments of RB committee ring hollow given that has never been his style
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Does the Andrew Luck news help or hurt him? I'm leaning in a negative fashion, but he's still a dynamic back with nice upside. I'll just be looking elsewhere for the most part. The committee talk has me scared of Damien, largely because his price is so steep. I still like him, but the price needs to be right. Also, get your Darwin Thompson shares no matter what you do with DW.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Mack finished last season with 4/12 games over 115 rushing yards. He's going to be the lead back in a high powered offense, so there's plenty of upside with this pick. Before you get too excited, there are still some negatives with Mack. He was 30th in yards per carry after contact, 33rd in breakaway percentage, 38th in yards created per carry, 54th in elusiveness rating and 55th in juke rate. When it comes down to it, even if Mack isn't as talented as we might think he is, opportunity matters infinitely more than talent. Mack is going to get a lot of opportunity on an elite offense. So makes him a good pick. I won't be going out of my way to target him, since Hines eats into his receiving upside. However, I'm not afraid to take him where he's going.Damien Williams has as much upside as any running back in fantasy. Remember what a Chiefs RB is capable of. Hunt finished as the RB 11 in half PPR scoring last season...in just 11 games! Hunt is a good RB, but Williams is essentially a bigger, faster, and more athletic version of Hunt. He also showed last season that he can produce in this offense. Williams had 5 starts last season after Hunt was released and Ware was injured. He averaged 114 yards and 2.2 TD's in those 5 starts. That stat line would have been the #1 fantasy RB over a full season. Now, obviously those TD numbers will come down...but he's still going to be elite. Andy Reid has produced a RB 1 for fantasy in 12 of his 20 seasons as head coach. So when you tell me I'm also getting a discount on an Andy Reid RB. Then I'm all in.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Now that Andrew Luck is retired, most expect Mack to be on the wrong end of negative game scripts, but the Colts have insisted that he will be on the field on third downs like he was as a rookie. If that is the case, Mack still has RB1 potential to go with a safe floor thanks to an incredible offensive line ahead of him.Williams entered 2018 with virtually no production to his name but exploded when given the opportunity in Andy Reid's offense. So long as he can get healthy and earn his spot as the starter, he will be a top 20 running back with room for much more. That upside will depend entirely on his large of a role he can handle, as the offense is certain to score plenty of points. There is reason, however, to be worried about Darwin Thompson.
Rich Piazza
Fantasy Shed
There's no question that everybody on the Colts offense, including the running backs, are going to take some kind of a hit with the Andrew Luck retirement. Mack will get enough usage, and is talented enough, to still finish as a RB2.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Andrew Luck's sudden retirement changes the equation for Mack, but probably not as much as you'd expect. He'll still run behind an elite offensive line and excellent system. Yes, Jacoby Brissett as the quarterback marks a huge downgrade for the entire offense. But the Colts may try to lean on Mack a bit more than they otherwise would have, and he may able to make up a downgrade in efficiency with an uptick in touches. Drop Mack a few spots, but still consider him an RB2.Williams was borderline dominant once he took over the starting running back role for the Chiefs in December, and his pass-catching abilities gave him what appeared to be an enormously high floor heading into this season even with only a small sample on which to rely. But an early hamstring injury brought out rumblings of a committee approach with Carlos Hyde, Darrel Williams, and Darwin Thompson, and there are conflicting reports as to Williams' workload. Because of his upside, Williams still makes an RB2, and a strong one at that. But drafting him is not without risk, so fantasy owners should make sure they have depth at the running back position if they take Williams with an early pick.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
The ADP is a bit odd to me. Yes, he is on a tremendous offense and is the lead back, but he does not have a role in the passing game and will be TD dependent in games where his yardage total is not high. He is similar to Sony Michel, who I just wrote an article about (brotofantasy.com) saying not to draft. Mack had less than 40 total yards in 5 of the 11 games he played in last season and 7 of his 9 TDs came from outside of those games. The #1 RB in an Andy Reid offense is a fantasy stud. It's science. So get the RB that is going to lead this backfield. Oh yeah, Reid also never employs an RBBC, so don't believe that either.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
I am not going to draft Mack at all this season. I don't understand how a guy with so many flaws is being drafted in the third/fourth round. Mack doesn't catch passes, he's not dynamic enough to break off big runs, and is entirely useless in games where the Colts are trailing. He's a TD-dependent RB2 being drafted as much more.Damien Williams was a starter in 5 games last season. In those five games he saw at least 10 rushing attempts and at least 6 targets in every game but one. Furthermore, he scored a TD in every one of those games and actually scored 8 in total. Williams was extended by the Chiefs this offseason and only has Carlos Hyde (The worst receiving back in the NFL over the past few seasons - oh and his rushing numbers aren't very good either) and 5'8" 201lb 6th rounder Darwin Thompson. Damien Williams is not going to lose his job if healthy. Andy Reid also mentioned that he'd use an RBBC "like in Philly." If you look at Andy Reid's RBs over the last FIFTEEN seasons, he has used a RBBC one time. That was in 2009, when the Eagles were transitioning from Westbrook to McCoy. Other than that, Reid has sprinkled RBs like Ware and West in at times but that's about it. I expect this "RBBC" to be more of the same - a RBBC of sprinkles. Grab Williams at a value.

Marlon Mack had four games with 125 or more rushing yards in the regular season or post season, tying him with Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliot for tops in the league, no other running back had more than two.I'm assuming Williams isn't the starter over the entire season. Williams had a nice 4-game run to end the season, but was under 13 touches in two of them, he won't be the only fantasy producer in this backfield.
