Amazingly, the Eagles really have no lead running back to start the season, so expect Sproles to continue to carry a decent load for his age and usual role.We will need some extremely positive reports about Charles this training camp for me to move him too far up the rankings, but we know what he can do when healthy.
Staff Rankings
QB List
Even at 34 years old, Sproles is still a safe bet to produce high end flex value, and with a ADP around 180, he's basically free.
Sablich Brothers
5th Down Fantasy
Has played just eight games over last two seasons; averaged 5.0 YPC when healthy in 2015; looking sharp at camp so far, but has to compete with not only Anderson but Booker.

This rank is provided that the Eagles don't sign a free-agent RB."So far so good on Jamaal Charles. "Every time I see him," said offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, "he says, 'I feel great.'" Charles has missed 24 of 32 games over the past two regular seasons, and he told me-at least as of now-he has zero knee pain. Denver's looking to get him eight or 10 touches a game if he can survive." If Jamaal Charles gets 8-10 touches per game it projects out to 128 rushes for 700 yards, for 0.5TD, and 32 receptions for 275 yards and 1 TD based on career averages. Solid numbers, but not exactly jaw dropping, and at his current 9th round ADP I think we can find safer value elsewhere.

FantasyPros
Sproles is never going to get enough touches to be relied upon for consistency, but you'd better believe he will have a few monster games, per usual, and if you happen to own him and start him in those few contests, he could be the difference between making and missing the playoffs. The Broncos may very well cut Charles, and even if they don't, it seems apparent that CJ Anderson is their guy. With that being said, this is the all-time NFL yards-per carry leader that we are talking about so he shouldn't be ruled out for a potential RB1 season if everything falls into place.

Sproles will remain the Eagles' third down back but Fantasy value will be very inconsistent. Auction Value $3 Charles, much like Peterson, is toast. Don't be surprised if he is cut in the preseason. Auction Value $3
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Over the last three seasons while in Philadelphia, Sproles has finished with 716, 705, and 865 total yards. Pretty consistent, right? I'd say the first two are the likeliest of scenarios, because the increase last year was out of necessity with Ryan Mathews shelved. The addition of LeGarrette Blount will also take away a few scoring opportunities, but Sproles also produces for those looking for a low-upside flex option.Sadly, this may be the end for J.C. He hasn't really 'played' in a year-and-a-half, and when he did, he wasn't the same player. After attempting to return from his second torn ACL, Charles wound up having to get both of his knees cleaned out towards the end of last season. He's still not participating in OTA's, so it's very likely that Devontae Booker beats him out for the change-of-pace role behind C.J. Anderson. Even if he sticks, he'll likely max out at 8-10 touches per game.
