FantasyPros
To know that Davante finished as the No. 3 wide receiver in fantasy football despite Aaron Rodgers throwing just 25 touchdowns, it should let you know how high his ceiling actually is. It wasn't just one game, either. It took 14.9 PPR points on average to be a top-24 receiver in 2018, and Adams is the only receiver in the NFL who hit that number in every single one of his gamesHe's back, but this time it's probably going to be a lot less exciting. He'll be playing behind a much lesser offensive line, with a much lesser quarterback, in a much worse offense. He's going to get plenty of touches, but we can say that about a lot of running backs. The question is - what's his upside in a low-scoring offense? Adam Gase's offenses have been lacking in both overall plays and overall scoring. Did you know that Dolphins running backs scored 10 rushing touchdowns over the last two years... combined? Bell is a relatively safe pick due to the touches he'll get, but he lacks the upside you want out of a high first-round pick
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Adams is force-fed targets as much as anyone and has a beautiful new system that should only help him.Bell has been a stud throughout his career, so why would he stop now? I actually like him plenty this year, but an entire year off and playing in a new system behind an inferior o-line...those could be problems.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
If Aaron Rodgers stays healthy, there's almost no chance Adams finishes outside the top six or seven receivers in fantasy. He's Rodgers' favorite target, he has elite skills, and he's the main focus of the Packers' passing attack. We don't know what Matt LaFleur's offense will look like, but it doesn't matter. Adams should be behind DeAndre Hopkins, but probably no other receivers.Despite sitting out a year and moving to a new team, Bell should once again be an RB-1 for fantasy purposes. Yes, there are plenty of red flags. Adam Gase's teams are notorious for running few plays, the Jets have offensive line issues, and the Dolphins never let their most talented running back, Kenyan Drake, have enough work. But Bell's certain involvement in the passing game gives him an incredibly high floor, and he should most likely give you quality fantasy production week-in and week-out. Don't expect him to put up the numbers that he did with the Steelers. But he won't have to in order to earn his draft price.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Adams was so ridiculously consistent last season it is a little mind blowing. Had a TD in 11 of 15 games and in the games he did not have a TD he went 8/81, 5/133, 10/166 and 8/119. HE NEVER SCORED SINGLE DIGITS. If you take his worst fantasy game of the season and multiply it by 16, HE WOULD STILL HAVE BEEN WR14.This is Bell's backfield and will be fed early and often. Gase also likes to move RBs to the outside now and then, which plays right into Bell's strengths.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Combined 35 receiving TDs over past 3 seasons trails only Antonio Brown (36) - blossomed in PPR in '18, finishing 2nd in targets (169) and setting career high with 111 catches (75 was previous best)The Jets, by most metrics and observational analysis, were among worst run blocking O-lines in '18, so Bell will be facing a headwind that he rarely endured in PIT - but sheer volume, elite, versatile talent should help him return Rd 1 value
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
His worst game last season was 8/81/0. Talk about consistency.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Adams finished behind Hopkins and Tyreek in fantasy points last year but he was #1 in points per game despite his QB playing on one leg. Adams has now been a WR1 for three straight seasons thanks to double-digit touchdowns every year. He should be gone before the 1/2 turn in most drafts.Bell was as great of a fantasy asset as we've seen the prior five years before his holdout last season. With that said, he is moving from one of the best offensive lines and running schemes to the absolute worst of both. He will still see 300+ touches, of course, but without the Steelers offensive line, fantasy owners will likely be shocked at how inefficient Bell will be.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Adams was one of the lone bright spots for a disappointing Green Bay Packers team and he should be an elite weapon again in 2019 playing with QB Aaron Rodgers.Bell should see a ton of carries, but he no longer has Big Ben, Antonio Brown or one of the best offensive lines in the NFL to help his fantasy value. He is a high-end RB2 that is going to see a lot of touches, but not the efficiency he has had in past years.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
Adams now enters his 6th season in the NFL finally getting the respect his numbers deserve. The last three seasons, Adams has put up a total of 35 touchdowns. LaFluer's offense concerns me, but when you have one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game throwing you the ball, it can overcome those concerns...Adams is a lock for another 10 TD's this year and you should feel confident having him as your team's WR1.Bell now switches to the AFC East with the New York Jets and new Head Coach, Adam Gase. Gase has a tendency to run a RBBC, but has admittedly never had a talent like Bell before. This situation is murky and has me concerned. We may look back at Bell's numbers next offseason and say he performed well, but it didn't necessarily lead to consistent production week in and week out. Bell's risk is built into his ADP though and I would feel comfortable with him as my team's RB2.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
I'll always admit when I'm wrong on a player. I didn't think Adams was this good. But he proved last season that he's an elite WR and when you pair someone of his talent level with Aaron Rodgers…then you have someone worthy of a first round pick in fantasy. Adams finished last season with 111/1389/13...through 15 weeks! He's that rare receiver that has a chance to lead the league in receptions and TD's. He does drop the ball more than we would like, but I really don't care about that stat for fantasy. All I look for is volume, and he's got just as much as anyone. He's 3rd in my projections with 158 targets, and we know that the red zone role is going to be massive. I have no problem if you want to take Hopkins over Adams. The projections, floor and upside are all extremely close. For me, the tie breaker comes down to their QB's...and Adams gets to catch balls from Aaron Rodgers.Bell sat out the entire 2018 season, then changed teams. That adds a bit more risk than we are used to with Le'Veon. The once consensus top 5 pick now comes with a second round ADP. I preach avoiding risk in the early rounds of the draft, which makes me hesitant in drafting Bell. Not only has he been away from football for a year, but he leaves a top 5 offense to join a team that ranked 23 in points per game and 26th in plays per game. While I do expect this offense to take a step forward this season, it's still a downgrade for fantasy. His 2nd round ADP comes with massive upside...but there are also a lot of unknowns. My current projection has his value as a late second round pick, which is probably where I'd feel comfortable taking him.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Davante Adams scored at least 16.0 PPR Points in every game last season, it was the highest minimum score of a guy who played over 10 games in @StaggsNFL database which dates back to 2013. Eric Decker had the next highest minimum at 11.7 points in 2013.
