Long time followers know that I've been perpetually down on Kendricks versus other rankers; however, he proved me wrong last year. Before getting injured in Week 12, Kendricks was averaging nearly 9 total tackles a game and produced 3 INTs to boot. This bump in tackle production was likely due to the Vikings defense being weaker up front than in past years. Although he's unlikely to pick up exactly where he left off last year, he should see enough opportunity to remain in the low-end LB/high-end LB2 conversation. After a disappointing 2019 season in which he was obviously still recovering from an Achilles injury suffered in 2018, Jones' fantasy production rebounded a bit last year. But that was largely due to him generating a career high 4.5 sacks. Given that his previous career high was one, I'm not banking on him being able to replicate that this year. And his tackle production isn't strong enough post Achilles injury to lift him out of the LB3+ tier for me.

It's all too easy to forget the type of season Eric Kendricks was having before he sustained a calf injury. He was averaging almost 10 tackles a game before going down and has accumulated 4 passes defended in that time along with 3 interceptions. From a fantasy perspective, Kendricks was averaging 20.1ppg through 11 weeks, the 5th highest mark among LBs behind only Devin White (23.7ppg), Roquan Smith(21.2ppg), Darius Leonard (20.6ppg), and TJ Watt (20.5ppg). Kendricks has shown himself to be an elite coverage linebacker in the league and was recently extended by the Vikings. With his role, health, team, and talent all intact going into the 2021 season, Kendricks shouldn't be lost the offseason shuffle. - The Ultimate IDP IndexHad 26 impact plays as a rookie in 2016. Two of those being touchdowns and 3 being interceptions but since then has been a bit of a headache finally happened. Deion Jones got his mojo back in a big way in 2020 finishing as an LB1 for the first time since 2017. Jones made his hay as a true impact player posting an imposing 25. He enjoyed some pass-rushing success in 2020 with 4.5 total sacks, a career-best. It was good to see Jones put together back to back fully healthy seasons. Injury has been prevalent throughout his career but that appears behind him now. It's a funny tidbit but it was the 3rd season in a row that Jones has scored a defensive touchdown and his 5 defensive touchdowns in his 5-year career. Regarded by many to be the prototype for the new NFL defender, he's a great sideline to sideline defender who can make plays on the ball. - The Ultimate IDP Index
