The Draft Zone
Gallup's stellar age 23 sophomore season: 16 game pace (played 14): 128 targets, 66 receptions, 1265 receiving yards, 7 TDs Lead the NFL in dropped passes with 13 (random YoY). At 16.77 YPR, that is 218 lost receiving yards. @FF_RyanBJackson should be your WR4 target in every league over the next 10 days. (@GrahamBarfield) Reagor/Jeffery both limited and D-Jax gets two amazing draws out of the blocks in Week 1 (vs. WAS) and Week 3 (vs. CIN). Both of those secondaries were bottom-10 in gains of 15+ pass yards last year.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Primarily a deep threat on the perimeter as a relatively unpolished rookie in 2018, Gallup exhibited a more well-rounded game last season. He caught only three touchdown passes before a three-score game in Week 17, but he'll have a chance to emerge as more of a red zone threat a season after Jason Witten, who's now in Vegas, was targeted twice as often as any Cowboy inside the 10.Making his presence felt in his first game as an Eagle since a January 2014 playoff loss, Jackson caught eight passes for 154 yards and two scores in the 2019 season opener. It was downhill from there, as Jackson didn't draw a target before exiting with a groin injury the following week. He returned to catch a five-yard pass in Week 9 before missing the remainder of the season. With Jalen Raegor and Alshon Jeffery banged up, Jackson could be startable early this season.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's funny how I've become someone who's viewed as a "Gallup hater" in some circles. Let it be known that Gallup was one of my favorite receiver prospects in the 2018 draft class. But guys, he's not better than Amari Cooper. It's clear that Gallup benefits from Cooper's presence in the lineup and has fit into his field-stretching role rather nicely. Now, the question becomes: How much does CeeDee Lamb affect Gallup's target share? When Lamb was first drafted, I was concerned, but after sitting down and going through projections, I was still able to find 100-105 targets for him in the offense, which should net him a WR3 finish in fantasy. There are some risks taking him inside the top-30 because you're taking on some of the risk that Lamb doesn't eat into his target share a bit more, though it's a smaller risk knowing we've had a shortened offseason with no preseason action. I have Gallup as a back-end WR3 in fantasy with upside for a bit more if Lamb takes time to develop, which is not out of question. If Cooper missed time, Gallup would be my favorite receiver in the offense and a high-end WR2 start most weeks. We saw exactly one game with Jackson healthy in the Doug Pederson offense. It led to nine targets, eight receptions, 154 yards, and two touchdowns. To be fair, it was against Washington, but still impressive. It's tough to take too much away from just one game, though. He is now 34 years old, so it's only a matter of time before his game declines, though we haven't seen it yet. He's averaged at least 10.0 yards per target in six of his last seven seasons. With Marquise Goodwin opting out for the season, they'll need Jackson in the field-stretching role. He's a poor man's version of Will Fuller at this stage of his career but can still fit in your lineup from time to time. At his current WR58 draft position, he's a steal.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
Mike McCarthy has publicly said Gallup will be a focal point in the offense and can see him over 1,000 yards this season. I am picking up Gallup everywhere I possibly can

WR 1B in Dallas, should provide a high floor, albeit low ceiling WR3 numbers
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Gallup had the breakout season everyone was hoping for last season but now faces some adversity. The Cowboys spent the 17th overall pick on WR CeeDee Lamb, a player who is too good to ride the bench, even as a rookie. Lamb won't completely ruin Gallup's value but it definitely takes a hit. Look for him to finish as a strong WR3/flex option. When healthy, DeSean Jackson is a phenomenal deep threat WR with decent fantasy value but the guy is never healthy. In his 12-year career, Jackson has played 16 games just two times. Now the Eagles have added WRs both through the draft and free agency. You can't trust Jackson to stay healthy anymore and that's a deal-breaker.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Michael Gallup had a magnificant sophomore breakout, parlaying 1100 yards into a WR22 finish despite missing two games including one against Miami. He looked set for a huge follow-up, then the draft happened. CeeDee Lamb certainly limits Gallup's upside but with Randall Cobb and Jason Witten's 166 vacated targets are up for grabs so it's very possibel Gallup has another strong season. He's a nice gamble at the 6th/7th turn.DeSean Jackson is getting a surprising amount of hype for a 33-year-old coming off a major injury which derailed the majority of his 2019 season. He does have massive upside though, especially on a weekly basis as evidenced by his Week 1 explosion for 154 yards and 2 TDs last season. With a heap of new weapons in town though, it's hard to see much chance DJax replicates anything close to his original Eagles success. The Alshon Jeffery injury certainly helps but Jackson is still far from a certainty. Take him in Best Ball but use caution in other leagues as there's a good chance he'll have as many bust weeks as boom weeks.

CeeDee Lamb's presence in Dallas hurts Gallup's overall ceiling, but he's still going to have games this season where he's very fantasy relevant. While I think Lamb and Gallup cancel out each other's true potential, they're both solid WR3/FLEX options in 2020.With Alshon Jeffery projected to start the season on the PUP list, Jackson is a screaming steal at his current ADP. We've seen what Jackson can do when he's fully healthy in this offense and right now, Jackson is the smartest selection you can make in the late rounds of your draft. He can be plugged in immediately as a WR2/WR3 into your lineup and he'll still have value as long as he stays healthy.

Mike McCarthy a great hire - very pass happy. But CeeDee Lamb is flatout better, and the competition for targets might siphon away some upside from gallup. Was en route to a Top-20 campaign, flashing huge chemistry with Wentz. Don't let that be forgotten in 2020, even with the WR plunges the Eagles took this draft.

As long as he continues to be productive when he DOES catch it, the drops shouldn't be a problem but he led the league in them last year at the WR position. I don't think it's a concerning statistic as long as the QB continues to trust him. 166 targets to Witten and Cobb wouldn't hurt to be more streamlined to Cooper and Gallup either.. The Cowboys may have just said how they feel about those drops though. Couldn't pass on Lamb.
