FantasyPros
Watson was not as good as he was in his rookie season from a fantasy perspective, but he should be better in 2019 than 2018 a year removed from ACL surgery. He also was fourth among fantasy quarterback s last year, he just did not have the monster games that made him a fantasy favorite in 2018.Lindsey concerns me with a new coaching staff, a new quarterback, and RB Royce Freeman behind him on the depth chart. He is a risky RB2 with both upside coming off a solid rookie season and uncertainty with Freeman likely to carve out a bigger role this year.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Despite dealing with a chest injury that hampered his rushing ability in the middle of the season then losing both Will Fuller and Keke Coutee for portions of the season, Watson finished as the QB4, ahead of Andrew Luck. Now bring back a healthy Fuller and Coutee alongside DeAndre Hopkins with a healthy Watson, and you might have yourself a contender for the QB1 in 2019It's pretty rare to see a running back who finished top 12 his rookie season despite missing a game fall down draft boards the following year, especially when the team didn't add another running back. That's precisely the case with Lindsay, who will share some touches with Royce Freeman, but Lindsay has proven to be much more capable in the pass-game than Freeman, which gives him the nod as the starter. While there is some built-in risk, it's not enough to knock Lindsay out of solid RB2 territory
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
The upside is clear with Watson, who has a good system and two fantastic weapons. HOU also upgrade their o-line, so he shouldn't be on his back as much.Lindsay was fantastic as a rookie, but Royce Freeman deserves the ball more. He's a great RB2 or Flex, but I won't be forcing the issue.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Watson's rushing ability gives him an incredibly high floor for a fantasy quarterback, as his 551 yards rushing and five touchdowns last year more than made up for any deficiencies as a passer. With a full complement of receivers (assuming Keke Coutee's ankle injury improves) and with Duke Johnson in the fold, Watson could be in for a career year. Like last season, however, he'll likely get hit a ton, as the Texans' offensive line is still sub-par despite the draft capital they spent to address it. He's an injury risk, but should be one of the first quarterbacks taken on draft day.Lindsay, an undrafted rookie, had a shocking breakout for the Broncos last year, totaling 1,278 yards and 10 touchdowns. He sustained a wrist injury late last year, needed surgery, and spent much of the offseason rehabbing. Despite his production, the Broncos seem intent on allowing Royce Freeman to split carries with Lindsay, and their signing of Theo Riddick (even though he is now injured) shows that they really want to spread the ball around in the backfield. Don't in any way forget about Lindsay on draft day as an RB2. But don't draft him expecting last year's numbers.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Deshaun Watson leads all quarterbacks (min. 18 games) in fantasy points per game over the past two seasons (by 1.5). @ScottBarrettDFBExtremely small sample, but Lindsay lined up from the slot + out wide on 2-of-8 'Flacco' snaps - a glimpse of what we've heard on his usage out of camp all offseason. @NotJDaigle
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Has highest passing upside in fantasy among the QBs that might get you 500+ rushing yards - 45 pass TDs, 7 rush TDs in 23 career games
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Stud and a half last season. Had over 4000 passing yards and over 500 rushing yards. Expect even more of the same but even better as he continues to grow as a QB. He holds the ball way too long and his O-line is not good, but if he can get rid of the ball quicker and if his O-line can even slightly improve, he could have a ridiculous season.Lindsay had over 1000 rushing yards, over 200 receiving yards and over 10 TDs last season. Despite that performance, he is now being disrespected and is expected to split carries. I still like Lindsay and expect him to get the lion's share of the touches. Solid pick at ADP.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Booker saw 30% of the Broncos snaps last season. With that usage likely out of the window now, there's room for Lindsay to be very good even with the involvement of Royce Freeman. Things were looking up for Lindsay when his OC referred to him and Freeman as Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, but now his ceiling is capped with the signing of the pass-catching specialist Theo Riddick.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
As great as Watson has been through the air over his first 22 games, he also has 820 rushing yards and 7 rushing TDs in that time. All of his underlying passing metrics went through the roof last year but his TD-rate unsurprisingly regressed. We can expect it to hang out there in the future, putting him in the 25 to 30 passing TD range. We can only help the unaddressed offensive line can keep him alive long enough to reach that mark.Royce Freeman is plenty talented behind Lindsay so it would be fair to worry about that, but try to remember just how great Lindsay was last season. If he is healthy, he will play, even in a new scheme. Whether that means being more involved in the passing game or not, you can rely on Lindsay to produce again if he is on the field.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
In his first two seasons as a pro, Watson has been 1st and 4th in fantasy points per game. Mobile QB's are a cheat code for fantasy, especially when they also come with passing upside. Watson is a 5TD threat every time he steps onto the field, and when you add that to his rushing floor, you get an extremely safe pick. This is not an offense built to run the football. Miller and Foreman will get their work, and the Texans will likely finish around league average in carries...but they have the weapons to install a more pass centric offense than they've been in recent years. If Hopkins, Fuller and Coutee can all stay healthy...then Watson is set to finish in the top 5 yet again.I have my concerns with Lindsay. I think he's a good RB, but the Broncos aren't going to very good this season, and Freeman isn't going anywhere. He was great last season, but he was only given over 15 carries in three games, and his TD rate is likely to regress from 9 on under 200 carries. He's also likely to see a few less carries, assuming Freeman can remain healthy this season. Lindsay can absolutely pay off his ADP, and I do like him in that late 4th/early 5th round range...but he's rarely still on the board at that point.
