Despite dealing with a chest injury that hampered his rushing ability in the middle of the season then losing both Will Fuller and Keke Coutee for portions of the season, Watson finished as the QB4, ahead of Andrew Luck. Now bring back a healthy Fuller and Coutee alongside DeAndre Hopkins with a healthy Watson, and you might have yourself a contender for the QB1 in 2019If anyone outside of Kyle Shanahan tells you what to expect out of the 49ers' backfield, they're lying to you. Don't forget with even less talent on the roster last year, you couldn't figure out if it would be Matt Brieda, Alfred Morris, or Raheem Mostert. We now add Coleman, who had his best years under Shanahan, and Jerick McKinnon, who will be returning from a torn ACL. It's likely to be a timeshare, though there will be valuable weeks among them, and Coleman figures to lead the charge
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
The upside is clear with Watson, who has a good system and two fantastic weapons. HOU also upgrade their o-line, so he shouldn't be on his back as much. The 49ers will probably use all of their backs, but I still love Coleman's upside in this system. I'll be getting some shares and hoping he makes the most of his touches.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Watson's rushing ability gives him an incredibly high floor for a fantasy quarterback, as his 551 yards rushing and five touchdowns last year more than made up for any deficiencies as a passer. With a full complement of receivers (assuming Keke Coutee's ankle injury improves) and with Duke Johnson in the fold, Watson could be in for a career year. Like last season, however, he'll likely get hit a ton, as the Texans' offensive line is still sub-par despite the draft capital they spent to address it. He's an injury risk, but should be one of the first quarterbacks taken on draft day.Coleman was . . . fine after taking over for Devonta Freeman last year, but he left something to be desired. The 49ers signed him to a two-year, $8.5 million contract, hardly money that signifies he'll be a bell-cow back. With Jerick McKinnon and Matt Breida still in the backfield, Coleman is going to need to share the work. But Kyle Shanahan reportedly is fond of Coleman from their days together in Atlanta, so expect him to lead the way. With the crowded backfield, however, it's hard to see him as much more than a high-end RB3.
Kevin Wheeler

Deshaun Watson leads all quarterbacks (min. 18 games) in fantasy points per game over the past two seasons (by 1.5). @ScottBarrettDFB
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Has highest passing upside in fantasy among the QBs that might get you 500+ rushing yards - 45 pass TDs, 7 rush TDs in 23 career games
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Watson was not as good as he was in his rookie season from a fantasy perspective, but he should be better in 2019 than 2018 a year removed from ACL surgery. He also was fourth among fantasy quarterback s last year, he just did not have the monster games that made him a fantasy favorite in 2018.The 49ers running back situation is fluid, but I think Coleman becomes the lead back in Kyle Shanahan's offense. He would be a RB3 with some upside in a great offense for running backs.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Stud and a half last season. Had over 4000 passing yards and over 500 rushing yards. Expect even more of the same but even better as he continues to grow as a QB. He holds the ball way too long and his O-line is not good, but if he can get rid of the ball quicker and if his O-line can even slightly improve, he could have a ridiculous season.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
As great as Watson has been through the air over his first 22 games, he also has 820 rushing yards and 7 rushing TDs in that time. All of his underlying passing metrics went through the roof last year but his TD-rate unsurprisingly regressed. We can expect it to hang out there in the future, putting him in the 25 to 30 passing TD range. We can only help the unaddressed offensive line can keep him alive long enough to reach that mark. This 49ers offense is so difficult to figure out. We know they will succeed in running the ball since Shanahan is pulling the strings, but who the primary back will be, if there is one at all, is anyone's guess. Coleman does come with substantial upside and is currently the starter but there is much more risk than anyone else in the top 30 RBs.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
In his first two seasons as a pro, Watson has been 1st and 4th in fantasy points per game. Mobile QB's are a cheat code for fantasy, especially when they also come with passing upside. Watson is a 5TD threat every time he steps onto the field, and when you add that to his rushing floor, you get an extremely safe pick. This is not an offense built to run the football. Miller and Foreman will get their work, and the Texans will likely finish around league average in carries...but they have the weapons to install a more pass centric offense than they've been in recent years. If Hopkins, Fuller and Coutee can all stay healthy...then Watson is set to finish in the top 5 yet again. It's been reported that one of Coleman/McKinnon/Breida will be inactive each week during the regular season. Breida proved to be a valuable asset last season, and assuming McKinnon is fully recovered from his torn ACL (he should be, but will get stronger as the season progresses), then it's entirely possible that Coleman is a healthy scratch some weeks this year. That's going to be frustrating for fantasy, but you can also look at it a different way. Yes, you might be upset 90 minutes before his start time (often the late start), but if they're only using two backs...then it's no longer a committee. If the only active backs heading into a week are Coleman and McKinnon...then Coleman is going to be a RB 2. That's a value for where you're getting him in drafts. I do expect Coleman to be active the most out of this group...although Breida is a great RB, and there will be plenty of weeks where the both of them are active. Ultimately, this is a situation where you're betting on the 49ers offense in the mid portion of your draft. And I'm more than ok with that. They got very unlucky last season, and should be around 8-8 to 9-7 this year. I'm very excited to see the offense this year, as I think they're going to surprise people,
