Did you know that Anderson had 136 targets last season? While I was pounding the drum for Anderson last off-season, I certainly did not see that type of workload incoming for the veteran wideout. Now, Anderson has some competition for targets again with CMC back and healthy, plus the addition of Marshall to this offense, but he also has the already established chemistry with Darnold from their Jets days. Anderson might not reach the level of production that he had in 2020, but he's still going to be a reliable fantasy asset week in and week out that does come with some boom potential.Smith's coming off of one of - if not the most - productive seasons for a CFB WR ever. There's absolutely no denying his talent and how he produced against SEC corners, which projects well for his transition to the NFL. All signs point to Smith being a value this upcoming draft season except for the state of the offense. For Smith to return value, Hurts needs to take a massive step forward as a passer from what we saw last season. In an offense that doesn't project to pass the ball a ridiculous amount, Smith is going to have to be incredibly efficient to crack the top-30 at the WR position this year. It's certainly possible due to his talent level, but his current ADP is appropriate, in my opinion. As a FLEX option, you're able to live with the potential range of outcomes.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's odd to say, but Anderson was somewhat of a Jarvis Landry-type fantasy asset last year. He finished with more than 15.5 half PPR points just twice, but he also scored fewer than 8.0 half PPR points just four times, offering a level of consistency we hadn't seen out of him. It's because they used him in the possession-style role with a shorter average depth of target than he was getting with the Jets. The Panthers lost Curtis Samuel in free agency, but gained Terrace Marshall in the draft, and will get Christian McCaffrey back from injury, so the loss of Samuel doesn't do a whole lot for projections. D.J. Moore started coming on more as the year went on, though the switch to Sam Darnold could prove to be a good thing for Anderson, who was Darnold's teammate with the Jets. It's still the same offense, and Anderson proved he's able to contribute in a big way, making him somewhat of a safe WR3/4 option with WR2 upside should Darnold favor him as the top option. If you're looking for the clear-cut No. 1 wide receiver for his team who's not being drafted like it, Smith is your guy. The Eagles were severely lacking wide receiver talent last year, and it led to them trading up to take Smith to solidify their go-to receiver for Jalen Hurts. Smith was the most pro-ready receiver in the draft, though some are concerned with his lack of weight. Even though every college knew he was getting the ball, they couldn't stop him, and it's not like Alabama plays weak opponents. He dominated everyone he came across. As someone who should get a consistent six-plus targets per game, Smith should be a WR3, even in his rookie season.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Anderson set career highs in receptions with 95 and yards with 1,096 last year. But he wasn't really a reliable option. He got off to a hot start with 36 catches for 489 yards and a score over his first five games, when he was the WR8 in half-PPR formats. But he closed his final 11 games with just 59 catches for 607 yards and two touchdowns, during which he was the WR37. The addition of Sam Darnold is probably a good thing for Anderson, since the two had chemistry on the Jets, especially when it came to the end zone (6.75% touchdown rate). With Curtis Samuel gone, Anderson should see some additional target share (even with the addition of Terrace Marshall), and can be targeted as a borderline WR3.I'm not breaking any news when I say that Smith is incredibly talented but there are concerns about his size. The concerns are warranted - Smith's frame is nearly unprecedented, and even everyone's favorite comp for him - Marvin Harrison - was a good 10 pounds heavier. But if you let injury concerns scare you off a late-round receiver with Smith's upside in a redraft league, then you're just playing fantasy wrong. Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, and potentially Zach Ertz are gone in this offense, and Nick Sirianni has had an entire offseason to figure out how best to get Smith involved. Jalen Hurts's rushing ability will likely put a cap on his pass attempts and, with it, Smith's targets. But given his price, this is a situation in which you should take the gamble on an immensely talented wide receiver with little competition for targets.
Kevin Wheeler
The Draft Zone
DeVonta Smith's 73.9 ADP would slot him third among rookies since 2015 behind Amari Cooper and ahead of Nelson Agholor (78.8).

Sleepers and Busts
Yes- the Sam Darnold to Robby Anderson connection is back! Kidding aside they actually did pretty well considering the Jets offense was in shambles. Matt Ruhle loves Anderson, He had him at Temple. Somehow in 2020 Robby did just as well as DJ Moore last year and he's cheaper. Expect some of those receptions for both players to come down with CMac healthy. The Panthers offense isn't the best, but Anderson can make some big plays if the QB can get him the ball. The only concern with DeVonta is can he stay healthy? He's undersized, but this kid wants to be great. He has the chops to do it. The former Heisman winner dominated college football in 2020. He's a big play waiting to happen and he should get plenty of opportunities- (translation a lot of catches in half point and full point PPR formats.) He should make an immediate impact. My comp is former Michigan Wolverines and Minnesota Vikings star WR Anthony Carter. Google him. He was really good. DeVonta Smith will be just as good if not better.

Curtis Samuel departure = more volume, and likely it's from a better QB than last year
