FantasyPros
If Aaron Jones wins the three-down back job outright, we are looking at a potential top 5 fantasy back. Chances are, however, that this scenario won't play out, despite his talent. The Green Bay staff has made it clear they intend on using a committee involving all three backs. If this is the case when Jones comes back from suspension, he is merely a flex play. Jones is still worth drafting based on the upside, though. While it seems that the Broncos drafted Royce Freeman to jump in as the lead-back from Week 1, it isn't certain quite yet. Booker is said to have the starting job for now, and while that may still mean a split backfield, Booker is worth drafting just in case.
Andrew Gould
FantasyPros
In his brief stint as Green Bay's lead back, Jones deposited 342 yards and three TDs over four promising games. He averaged 5.5 YPC to Jamaal Williams's 3.6 and six 20-plus yard runs to Williams's one. He's also an inferior pass-blocker and catcher (nine catches in 12 games) who will serve a two-game suspension to start 2018. The anchoring effect could cost Jones a chance to carve out a headlining role if Williams shines early in his absence, so the short ban dampens his previously promising outlook.Averaging 3.6 YPC over two years, picking Booker is a bet of him getting more volume than rookie Royce Freeman. He found pay dirt once despite receiving 17 red-zone carries, but also produced 14.8 PPR points in his only game playing the majority of Denver's snaps. Despite what the depth chart says, Freeman looks poised to assume C.J. Anderson's leading rushing role, which leaves Booker as bench fodder.

FantasyPros
As of right now, Jones might be the rare case of getting the starting running back in a top-six scoring offense outside of the top-100. Most are torn on which running back to take out of Green Bay, but there've been rumors that Jones earned the job last year. Whatever the case, he's going to score some touchdowns, even if he's involved in a timeshare. I'd rather take the upside of Jones than someone who may have more guaranteed touches, like Bilal Powell. If you do draft him, don't forget that he's suspended for the first two weeks of the season, though he misses the Bears and Vikings, two tough matchups. I love Royce Freeman's game, which is why I don't view Booker as a threat to him. With that being said, NFL teams sometimes do some weird things and make rookies "earn their stripes." Booker is someone who played behind C.J. Anderson the last few years, and the Broncos cut Anderson this offseason. Then they drafted Freeman in the third-round. What does that tell you about Booker? He's just a handcuff and not one that you should go out of your way to draft, as we've seen him in a workhorse role before back in 2016. It wasn't pretty.
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
I like Jamal Williams, but Jones feels like the back with more shake to his shimmy. This situation is tough to break down though, and Jones had trouble with nagging injuries last season and had a marijuana charge. I will likely take the guy who comes at more value, as I like both and I think either one could seize the job. UPDATE: Jones has been suspended for the first two games. He still has fantasy value, but Williams and Montgomery get a leg up on him now. There are reports that Booker will share the load with Royce Freeman, but I just haven't seen enough out of Booker to take that news as actionable in these rankings. I believe Freeman gets some leeway and plenty of chances to lead the Broncos on the ground.
Staff Rankings
QB List
As I mentioned earlier, Jones was pretty impressive when he was out there for the Packers, and there's a really good chance that he'll be challenging Jamaal Williams for the starting gig, but considering he has a two-game suspension and how fluid that backfield will be, he's a risky pick. If you told me he had the job from day one as "the guy," he'd be a lot higher.Personally, I'm a Royce Freeman believer, and that's partly why I have Booker as low as I do. Could Booker get the majority of the work Week 1? Sure, that's definitely possible, but even if he does I don't expect him to hang onto the job for long. He's had and lost the starting job too many times for me to have any faith in him, and he ended the year last year with a -9.2% DVOA. However, he's still worth a grab in the later rounds on the chance that he gets the starting gig and hangs onto it-even if he's not that good, being a starting running back in the NFL is worth something in fantasy.

This article backs Aaron Jones as Packers likeliest lead back in 2018, noting his explosive running ability & Aaron Rodgers' "unequivocal" support for Jones: https://amp.packersnews.com/amp/784765002?__twitter_impression=true … @EvanSilva After spraining MCLs in both knees last season, Aaron Jones has worked to strengthen his lower body. If he gets hurt again this summer, expect the Packers to inquire about Carlos Hyde. Source: wireless listening device. @GhostTesla Could get first crack at being the lead back in Denver. Booker's per-carry average of 3.6 yards is 27th out of the 29 backs in 2016-17 who had at least 250 carries (Booker had 253). "He's got to come out and work and earn the right to be the (first) guy," Joseph said. "He understands that with C.J. gone, it's a wide open race. He's a good football player, but we want more from him, obviously." denverpost.com

More talented than Williams and should run with featured job if healthy when back from suspensionThis is Freeman's backfield but Booker has the talent to carve out a significant role

He'll miss the first two games of the year and that could be a death sentence in Green Bay's offense but long-term, he's a steal in later roundsBooker is a solid talent but he has been a bust so far and he has competition. I like him as a late flier but I can't invest early in him
