It wasn't all system in Buffalo, and even if it was, New England is set up just as nicely.

Gillislee gets to join the Pats' backfield for the 2017 campaign. Gillislee could be a draft day steal or a headache to own. Auction Value $12 Booker will be in a timeshare with CJ Anderson once healthy .Auction Value $10

The Patriots get near the endzone, a lot, and well, that helps Mike Gillislee but Belichek always rotates his backs, so it's hard to trust.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Gillislee had 8 rushing touchdowns in just 101 attempts and takes over for RB LeGarrette Blount, who led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns on 299 attempts. He's been hurt though and hamstring injuries can linger, which makes him risky at this point.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
If there's been one thing Gillislee has been very good at, it's running the football, and particularly well at the goal-line. Over the last two seasons he's totaled 151.2 fantasy points on 148 carries. Yeah, and now he's going to an offense where the guy he's replacing led the league with 72 redzone carries. Nobody else had more than 59. There is risk, but it's well worth it if he can get onto the field.
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Gillislee with the Patriots has a ton of upside, especially if he can take over the goal-line role that helped LeGarrette Blount to 18 touchdowns last season. But with Bill Belichick calling the shots, we can't buy into that role completely. Rex Burkhead could see some of those looks as well, and then of course, New England can spread out and throw near the goal line with James White, Dion Lewis and Burkhead some more. Picking a Patriots running back this season will be tough, but Gillislee seems the most prepared for the "Blount force"-trauma role, as he's scored a touchdown every 13.5 rushing attempts in his short career.

QB List
The Patriots have developed a reputation for being a fantasy headache at the RB position, with a player belching out 150 yards and three TDs one week before getting three carries for -2 yards the next. There are three capable backs in addition to Gillislee: James White, Dion Lewis, and Rex Burkhead. With so much uncertainty, the discriminating fantasy player may ask, why bother? Because this backfield produces fantasy points by the fistfull, that's why. Besides, the Pats backfield isn't at opaque as it first seems. Gillislee is the two down grinder and goal line guy, Lewis and White are the third-down guys, and Burkhead is punt-returning depth. The New England grinder traditionally gets a lot of work in games where the Pats are winning, and unsurprisingly, they are projected to win more games than any other team in the NFL this season.
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
"First goal-line carry of camp in full pads goes to Mike Gillislee. Powers up middle for TD. Top candidate to replace LeGarrette Blount." About 12 hours after a Pyro discussion about Gillislee's draft value we see him get the first goal-line carry in camp. If we see him get even half of the goal-line work that Blount has vacated and 220-250 touches Gillislee should easily return his draft value. Gillislee is currently going of the board as RB22 in MFL10's, and he's ranked as RB28 in the Pyro rankings, as Staggs has him projected for closer to 200 carries. If we can guarantee that he is going to get all of the goal-line work he will continue to rise, but we always have to look out for those Belitricks. "The Pats haven't been shy about trying Burkhead in short yardage situation down at the goal line either. Running backs coach Ivan Fears is on record saying the team needs to find its power back and while Mike Gilislee is probably the lead dog in that area, Burkhead is bigger than you think, right around 210 pounds." There is no way there should be eight to ten rounds difference between Gillislee and Burkhead. Blounts 300 vacated carries will probably mostly go to Gillislee, but those TD carries inside the 5 will be split several ways. The Blount "role" disappears and this becomes a true community backfield this year.PUP - Wrist injury
Sablich Brothers
5th Down Fantasy
Scored seven TDs on 10 carries inside 5 yard line in 2016; 5.7 YPC each of last two seasons; crowded backfield a concern, but should handle goal-line duties.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Gillislee is an interesting option in NE's system and Blount is leaving a massive hole to fill
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
The Patriots ran the ball more often inside the 5-yard line than any other team in the NFL and it wasn't even close. Blount was among the worst RBs in terms of yards per carry, Gillislee was the single best. Gillislee has also been the best at converting goal line carries over the past two seasons. He could be in for a huge season if Belichek puts the ball in his hands enough.
