Lineups
Tyler Lockett finished last season as the WR14 in 1/2 PPR leagues. He had the 2nd-best catch rate of any wide receiver at 74.5%. He's the top target for one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Russell Wilson. He's lethal in the red zone and has 18 touchdowns over the last two seasons. This isn't how you describe aThe Jaguars enjoyed a breakout performance from D.J. Chark last season as he finished as the WR16 in 1/2 PPR scoring. He finished with 73 catches for 1,008 yards and 8 touchdowns, but there's still room for improvement. The Jaguars should be among the most pass-heavy teams in the NFL this season as their defense is suffering at the moment. Gardner Minshew is entering his second season and should get more comfortable in a pro offense. Chark will benefit and produce another strong fantasy campaign.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Lockett became QB Russell Wilson's go-to guy in 2018, leading the Seahawks with career-high totals in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. He became an even bigger contributor to Seattle's passing game in '19 and was on pace to end the season with 99 catches, 1,269 yards and 10 scores before leaving Seattle's Week 10 game with a shin injury that required hospitalization.Chark emerged as Jacksonville's top receiver in 2019, catching four passes for 146 yards and a touchdown in the season opener and then being targeted five or more times in all 14 of his other games. There is a bit of uncertainty about his 2020 role with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo having been replaced by Jay Gruden, whose offenses have tended to feature more quick passes.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was a tale of two different seasons for Lockett, as he started out the year hot, but then had an injury derail his production. Clearly, he was affected by a serious shin contusion that had him in the hospital. I won't pretend that D.K. Metcalf started removing some of his elite target upside, but even Lockett's efficiency went down the tube. Combining Lockett's games under Brian Schottenheimer prior to the shin injury, he's totaled 116 receptions for 1,732 yards and 16 touchdowns over a span of 25 games. That's pretty dang good. Knowing that I'm projecting a rise in pass attempts for the Seahawks overall, Lockett should see 110-plus targets as long as he's healthy, a number that goes very far with Russell Wilson as his quarterback. Seriously, stop talking about regression when it comes to Wilson's receivers. First it was Doug Baldwin. Regression never really happened. Then there was Lockett. Next, it'll be Metcalf. Lockett is perfectly fine as your WR2. He's the safer of the Seahawks receivers because his role is locked in. If the Seahawks were to sign or bring in someone like Josh Gordon/Antonio Brown, that would affect Metcalf a lot more. There were flashes of what could be an alpha wide receiver in Chark last year, but there were also times where he disappeared. For example, he had six games of 15-plus fantasy points, but he also had eight games with less than nine fantasy points. Is it reasonable for him to grow as a player? Yes. Is there now a bit more competition for targets on the roster? Yes. With the shortened offseason, it will be difficult to learn a new playbook, especially for rookies like second-round pick Laviska Shenault. Because of that, Gardner Minshew will likely be looking Chark's way a lot. With a schedule that starts with the Colts, Titans, Dolphins, Bengals, Texans, and Lions, Chark should have a monster first half of the fantasy season. There are much tougher matchups as the season goes on, however, but drafting Chark as a low-end WR2 with upside in the fifth round makes sense. But again, you may want to look at the possibility of trading him during his bye in Week 7.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
Opposite D.K. Metcalf, I love the perimeter in Seattle. 8 touchdowns last season could certainly be 10 this season
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
A bounceback looks inevitable. Russell Wilson is elite, and Locket is his favorite target.Chark looks to take the third year leap, but his near 1 TD per game output will come back to earth. His fate is tied to Minshew's.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Lockett continues to silence the doubters year after year in Seattle and I don't see that changing in 2020. His connection with Russell Wilson is otherworldly and that's a big advantage over a lot of guys who haven't been able to work with their QB's due to COVID. I like Lockett as a solid WR2 but unlikely to get the volume to propel him into WR1 status.D.J. Chark was one of the biggest surprises of the 2019 season. He built a strong connection with Gardner Minshew and it showed on the field with Chark totaling 73 receptions, 1,008 yards, and eight TDs. Minshew's progression will be key for Chark making him a bit of a boom or bust type player.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
After SPARQ monster's 2019 breakout, now owns the go-to role in the JAC passing game, which offers more promise under new OC Jay Gruden
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Weeks 1-9 last season, he was the WR3 overall. He suffered a scary leg injury in Week 10 and was never the same afterward. He still finished as the WR13 for the season. @SWallace_FF In 2019, Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett ranked: 4th in yards gained on slot routes (770), 1st in touchdowns on slot routes (6), 11th in yards gained on 20+ yards downfield targets (379), 9th in receiving TDs (8) @EvanSilva - Tyler Lockett does not get a lot of targets, but the ones he does get are high leverage for fantasy. @LordReebsWeeks 1-14 last season, he was the WR8 overall. He suffered an ankle in Week 14, missed a game, and was hampered the rest of the season. He still finished as the WR17 for the season. @SWallace_FF

Lockett did have a solid season with 1052 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns, but he seemed to take a backseat to Metcalf at times in the second half of the 2018 season. I think Lockett will be more of a WR3 than a WR2 in 2020 and he could likely be the second option in the passing game.Chark's ability in the deep passing game allowed him to tally 1028 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns in 2019. He is a WR2 with some volatility playing on one of the worst rosters in the NFL.

Lockett's most likely going to play second-fiddle to Metcalf this season, but there are still going to be plenty of targets to go his way. Lockett's going to hover around WR2 territory all season long, but has the talent and rapport with Russell Wilson to finish even higher than that.Chark and Gardner Minshew have shown that they have great chemistry together. Chark has a little bit more competition for targets this season than last year, but he's still going to be a productive fantasy football option. He's in the range of a WR2 this season for me with upside.

Tyler Lockett put together another impressive season, breaking 1000 yards for the first time on the back of five 100+ yard performances and 8 TDs. His many bust weeks are a concern but the worries don't end there. D.K. Metcalf is a possibility to really impact his target share, as are quality tight ends Greg Olsen and Jacob Hollister. It's also worth monitoring the Josh Gordon and Antonio Brown rumours which won't go away. Ultimately he's a boom/bust mid-round pick with strong upside who has major floor issues but excellent weekly upside. Don't get sucked in too early.D.J. Chark enjoyed an impressive sophomore breakout, despite being slowed by an ankle injury later in the season. There are many reasons for concern though, from the drafting of Laviska Shenault to the signing of Chris Thompson and the general terribleness of this team. The upside is that it appears they'll be chasing plenty of games and don't look inclined to go as run-heavy this year. If Chark can stay healthy and maintain his target share he's going to be big in fantasy, that's a huge 'if' though.

18 TDs in the last 2 years on 180 targets(about a 19% target share). I'm not complaining about the TDs and he had a career high 110 targets in 2019 but TDs are not sticky and I think he might just play the highly efficient second fiddle to D.K.Had his most heavily targeted game with Foles, but Minshew was very capable of supporting him. A little under 7 targets a game with Minshew in year 1. That paces for 110 targets. TDs(8) are likely to regress if those targets remain. He remains the clear top target after FA and the draft. His drop grade per PFF is just below Michael Thomas, at number 7. He is what Will Fuller would be if Fuller could stay healthy and had hands, with all the target volume you could want.
